• As Group Asks APC To Disqualify Faleke’s Candidate

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has clarified the authenticity of the December 1979 result being paraded by a chairmanship aspirant in Ojodu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos state, Alhaja Layeni Olufunmilayo Kafayat, saying that the certificate is not genuine.

Layeni, an aspirant in the forthcoming Local Government elections under the banner of All Progressives Congress (APC), is majorly being sponsored by a member of the House of Representatives representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, Hon James Faleke.

In a response dated May 25, 2021 to an inquiry with respect to the authenticity of Layeni’s result, the examination body said the result did not emanate from it.

In the said result, Layeni claimed to have made C6 in English Language, C5 in Government, C4 in Economics, C4 in Mathematics, D7 in Biology, C5 in Commerce, and C3 in Accounts.

The examination body simply replied: “source document not from WAEC.”

Meanwhile, an interest group in Ojodu known as Ojodu Collectives has urged the leadership of the APC to disqualify Layeni from participating in the primary election to decide the candidate of the party for the general election.

In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman and Publicity Secretary of the group, Mr Shola Akinmaja and Seun Adeboriola respectively, the group said it was unfortunate that someone aspiring to lead the council could be parading a fake result.

“In the light of the revelation by WAEC to the effect that the result being paraded by the said Layeni is fake and not genuine, we urge the APC as a proactive and responsible party to do the needful by disqualifying Layeni forthwith,” the statement reads in part.

the group also called on the police to investigate the development and take necessary action, since falsification of result also amounts to forgery and perjury under the law for which prosecution is applicable.

In a related development, Hon Wale Abdusalam of the Segun Odunmbaku Campaign Organization (SOCO), has condemned attempts by some persons within the APC to deceive unsuspecting party members to the effect that a particular candidate has been endorsed.

Abdusalam admonished the people to be wary of the antics of desperate elements.

“Our attention has been drawn to the actions of some mischievous aspirants within Ojodu LCDA pretending to be staff of APC party secretariat and calling innocent voters lying to them that certain aspirants have been endorsed and that innocent voters should come out and vote for them with monetary inducements on the day of primary election.

“The Segun Odunmbaku Campaign Organization (SOCO) totally condemns this act of canvassing for votes through fraudulent means.

“We appeal to all our teeming supporters to please ignore their calls and remain focused,” Abdusalam said.

TRANSFORMATIVE BENEFITS OF THE GENERAL TY DANJUMA’S INTEGRATED CARGO AND AGRO-ALLIED AIRPORT IN KASHIMBILA, TAKUM LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA

Published

on

As Nigeria continues to navigate the complexities of economic development and challenges, it is important that we the long suffering people of southern Taraba prioritize initiatives that will drive growth, create jobs, and improve the lives of our citizens moving forward.

One such initiatives birth by our illustrious son and father General TY Danjuma, supported by our indefatigable Governor, His Excellency Dr Agbu Kefas, in collaboration with the Federal government of Nigeria is the iconic General TY Danjuma Integrated Cargo and Agro-Allied Airport in Kashimbila, Takum Local Government Area.

For those who have yet to behold its splendor, the Kashimbila hydro dam, General TY Danjuma Cargo and Agro-Allied Airport, and the majestic man-made lakes, form an iconic tapestry of natural and man-made wonders. Nestled between towering mountains, adorned with snow-white crowns that glisten throughout the year.

This breathtaking destination is a symphony of emerald green valleys, rolling hills, and sapphire blue waters filled with billions and billions of fresh water fishes often thrusting and leaping into the air either to catch the glimpse of their majestic surroundings for themselves or in protest that they are tired of their habitat, and now want to become Peper soups.

The sheer scale and beauty of this wonderland are awe-inspiring, evoking the picturesque charm of Obudu Ranch and Switzerland combine. Vast stretches of lush agricultural land unfold like a canvas of green, as far as the eye can see. Every element of this majestic landscape, from the towering mountains to the sparkling lakes, blends in perfect harmony, creating a destination that is at once breathtakingly beautiful and humblingly majestic.

The mighty Kashimbila hydro dam with the potential to transform the Economic, social and agricultural fortune of not only our entire people, but with scattered ripple effects in nearby Benue, Cross River, Taraba and the whole business landscape of Nigeria and neighbouring country of Cameroon at large deserves our collective support. It’s worthy to note that the provincial capital of Northwest Cameroon, Bamenda is just 343 kilometres away from the Kashimbila hydro dam and Cargo airport, creating a vast opportunity for international cross border trade.

The benefits of this project are multifaceted. Firstly, the airport will provide a critical infrastructure for the transportation of agricultural products, enabling farmers to access wider markets and increase their productivity. This, in turn, will lead to improved food security, reduced poverty, and enhanced economic growth and creating vast wealth.

Secondly, the airport will create jobs and stimulate economic activity in the region. The operation of the airport will require a significant workforce, and the increased economic activity will lead to the creation of new businesses like real estates, hotels, and other support services in transport and logistics.

Thirdly, the airport will promote the development of the agricultural sector, which is critical to our people and Nigeria’s economic growth. The airport will provide a platform for the export of massive agricultural products to the international markets, enabling our people and Nigeria to tap into the global market and earn much-needed foreign exchange.

Irrespective of tribe or religion, our entire indigenous people need to quickly put behind us the age old animosity, tribal bigotry and rivalry and foam cooperative groups so government can grant you loans and agricultural equipments already imported by Governor Agbu Kefas to start investing in commercial farms now before people from distant lands will come and render us as spectators.

Furthermore, the airport will also have environmental benefits. By promoting the use of more efficient and environmentally friendly transportation modes, the airport will reduce the carbon footprint of agricultural product transportation. Additionally, the airport will facilitate the proper management and disposal of agricultural waste, reducing the environmental impact of agricultural activities.

In conclusion, the Integrated Cargo and Agro-Allied Airport in Kashimbila, Takum Local Government Area is a transformative project that has the potential to drive economic growth, create jobs, and improve the lives of our citizens whether you are Kpazun, Wapan,Chamba, Kuteb, Ichen or whatever you call yourself. This project deserves our collective support, and we must come together and enjoy its maximum benefits.

We cannot afford to miss this opportunity to transform our land and drive economic growth. We must act now to ensure that this sustainable project transform our land forever. We owe it to ourselves, our children, and future generations to seize this opportunity and create a brighter future for our people and Nigeria at large. Economic prosperity on a scale never witnessed in our land beacons, let’s seize the once in a lifetime opportunity and run with it.

There Is No Place For Sharia Law In Yorubaland” – Prince Adedipe Dauda Ewenla Declares

Published

on

In a bold and thought-provoking statement, Prince Adedipe Dauda Ewenla, a respected security expert and prominent figure in Yorubaland, has voiced his strong opposition to the promotion of Sharia law in the region.

As an individual who has spent his life working towards the peace and security of the region, his words carry significant weight, especially when it comes to matters that could potentially alter the cultural and religious landscape of Yorubaland.

Prince Adedipe is unequivocal in his stance: “There is no place for Sharia law in Yorubaland, and it will never happen.” His statement is rooted in a deep understanding of the distinct culture and traditions of the Yoruba people, which he believes must be preserved and respected. The Yoruba culture, he asserts, is separate from Arabian customs, and as such, Islamic laws, like Sharia, cannot be imposed upon the people of the region. “We are not in a Muslim country, and Islamic laws cannot work in our land,” he emphasizes.

The call for Sharia law, according to Prince Adedipe, has been driven by some Islamic scholars, but he strongly rejects this idea, deeming it unacceptable for a region known for its rich traditions and cultural heritage. He argues that those who wish to live under Sharia law should relocate to countries where it is already practiced, rather than imposing such laws on the Yoruba people. His message is clear: Yoruba traditions, customs, and leadership must not be undermined by any religious group.

In his write-up, Prince Adedipe also raises a critical point about the effectiveness of Sharia law, even in many Islamic countries, where it has not brought about lasting peace. For him, the peace that has existed in Yorubaland, where individuals of different religious beliefs coexist harmoniously, is a testament to the region’s tolerance and respect for diversity. He speaks from personal experience when he highlights the religious diversity within his own family, which includes Muslims, Christians, traditional worshippers, pastors, and imams, all of whom live together in peace and unity.

“I am Muslim, and my uncle, who is a king from my grandfather’s maternal lineage, practices Christening. Some members of my family are traditional worshipers, while others are pastors and imams. Despite our diverse religious backgrounds, we live together peacefully,” he shares, demonstrating that coexistence and mutual respect are at the heart of Yoruba life.

Prince Adedipe’s concluding statement is firm and resolute: “Sharia law has no place in Yorubaland. Islamic scholars should stop advocating for it.” He calls for a renewed focus on unity, peace, and the preservation of Yoruba heritage, encouraging all to respect the traditions that have allowed the Yoruba people to thrive for generations.

As the Akinjagunla Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, a position that signifies great respect and influence in the region, Prince Adedipe’s message is a powerful reminder of the importance of upholding cultural identity and religious tolerance. In an era where tensions over religious and cultural differences can be a source of conflict, his call for unity and peace is both timely and necessary.

In the end, his message is not just for the Yoruba people, but for all Nigerians: to celebrate and protect the diversity that makes the nation strong, while refusing to impose divisive ideologies that may threaten the harmony that has long existed in communities across the country.
