Reject Hate, Promote Diversity, Buratai Urges Nigerians

Former Chief of Army Staff Lt-Gen Tukur Buratai (rtd) has tasked Nigerian leaders to reject hate speeches and promote diversity for a cohesive nation.

Buratai urged all leaders to be committed to the values of leadership, integrity, and service to the nation.

He spoke at the graduation ceremony of Leadership and National Cohesion Course 2 of 2024 organized by the Martin Luther Agwai International Peace Keeping Center (MLAILPKC) and the Japanese Government through the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

He said, “Note that your role as leader is crucial in upholding the principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality, and dignity, even in the face of adversity. As leaders, you must foster a culture of tolerance, empathy, and understanding, where every individual feels valued, respected, and included.”

Buratai said leadership and national cohesion were more relevant today than ever because the world was increasingly becoming more complex and the challenges being faced require collective action, collaboration, and a deep sense of shared purpose.

“As leaders, you have critical roles to play in promoting national cohesion and building a more united, stable, and prosperous society.

“You are ambassadors of hope, beacons of positive change, and champions of national cohesion,” he added.

Buratai said that contemporary society requires quality leaders who are equipped with knowledge and competencies to navigate complex challenges, bridge divides, and inspire collective action.

He, therefore, charged them to promote education, community engagements, and economic opportunities.

“You must reject hate speech and celebrate diversity, recognizing that unique backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives are the very fabrics that strengthen a society,” he said.

The commandant, MLAILPKC, Maj.-Gen. Ademola Adedoja said any nation without leadership and national coercion will ultimately be vulnerable to disintegration, instability, and stagnation, hence, the a need to develop a new generation of visionary leaders who can inspire and unite the people towards a common goal.

As political enemies and oppositions continue to castigate and criticise governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo state for stuttering during the pronunciation of the state budget,the prophetic hall of fame, prophet Godwin Ikuru of Jehovah Eye Salvation Ministry has risen in defense of the governor.

Prophet recapitulated that nobody is infallible and every human being is liable to making mistakes and the governor should not be crucified because of a simple error that could have come from anyone ” I want to reiterate that God has blessed Okpebholo and made him the governor of the state and there’s nothing anyone or the political enemies can do about it, criticising him because he stuttered suggests immaturity and childishnes because everyone who’s matured and sensibly knows that anyone could have done that, irrespective of your status or class;so they should keep silent and watch Okpebholo teach governors in Nigeria how to govern a state effectively because I know that he will perform magnificently”

It can be recalled that prophet Ikuru prophesied Okpebholo into power,he was with him during the election and inauguration,he remains a great African prophet that speaks the mind of God

Lt. General T.Y. Buratai Celebrates John Mahama’s Historic Comeback as Ghana’s President

Sahara Weekly Reports That Lt. General T.Y. Buratai (Rtd) has extended his heartfelt felicitations to the president-elect of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama. As an advocate for peace and development in Africa, Buratai expressed optimism that Mahama’s leadership would lead to remarkable milestones in governance, economic growth, and citizen empowerment in Ghana. He highlighted the inspiration Mahama’s vision and dedication would bring to future generations.

It would be recalled that John Dramani Mahama has achieved a remarkable political resurgence, emerging as Ghana’s president-elect in a tightly contested election. This victory marks his return to the nation’s highest office after serving as president from 2012 to 2017. Mahama’s success is widely seen as a reaffirmation of his leadership qualities, resilience, and the unwavering trust of the Ghanaian people.

Mahamudu Bawumia, the ruling party’s candidate, conceded defeat with grace, underscoring Ghana’s democratic maturity. The peaceful election process and its outcome reinforce Ghana’s reputation as a beacon of democracy in Africa.
