Prince Adedipe Dauda Ewenla Pleads For Musician, Portable, Seeks Release of Arrested Suspects

Published

It is unfortunate that some innocent people were arrested at Odogun Bar, owned by the popular musician Habeeb Okikiola Badmus (Portable). I call them innocent because they were simply following the instructions of their boss, who has been supporting their music careers.

I appeal to the Ogun State Government to consider their release. While they have been granted bail, the conditions seem too harsh for their offense. I acknowledge that it is a criminal act to fight with government officials carrying out their duty but these young men acted out of ignorance rather than malice.

I also plead with the governor to forgive Habeeb Okikiola Badmus (Portable). He is still a young man with limited formal education. While I do not condone reckless behavior, I believe he has learned his lesson. ‘Declaring him wanted or sending him to a correctional center may not be the best solution. Instead, he should receive guidance and encouragement to avoid such actions in the future.

Portable is a well-known figure in Ilogbo and has contributed positively to the community. Regarding his property, if it was built without approval, imposing a fine would be more reasonable than demolishing it. This would allow him to remain in the community and continue his contributions while still holding him accountable under the law.

I hope the government finds a fair and just resolution that balances accountability with compassion.
