Grace Nation DIBS: Trust is the Foundation of Marriage – Dr. Chris Okafor

Marriage is a divine institution ordained by God and deserves greater attention and value, according to Dr. Chris Okafor, Senior Pastor of Grace Nation Worldwide. During the Divine Intervention and Breakthrough Sunday Service held on February 9, 2025, at Grace Nation International Headquarters (Liberation City) in Ojodu Berger, Lagos, Dr. Okafor emphasized the critical role of trust in building successful relationships.

Speaking on the theme The Importance of Divine Marriage, Dr. Okafor explained that marriage reflects God’s good purpose for humanity. He stressed that for marriages to thrive, both partners must embody a spirit of trust. “When there is trust, marriage becomes divine and joyful,” he stated.

The Generational Prophet of God further highlighted that marriage is as ancient as creation and is as sacred as the relationship between Christ and the Church. He urged women to submit to their husbands while encouraging men to love their wives unconditionally, just as Christ loves the Church.

    Keys to Marital Success
Dr. Okafor shared essential principles for a successful marriage and healthy relationships:

Seek God’s guidance in choosing a life partner.
Marry someone who genuinely loves you, not a materialistic partner.
    Love unconditionally and practice forgiveness.
Be committed to your spouse’s satisfaction and fulfillment.
Remarkable Testimonies of Healing and Deliverance
The service was marked by powerful testimonies. A woman who traveled from Manchester, UK, shared her miraculous healing from stage 4 cancer. Diagnosed in December 2024 with a terminal prognosis, she testified that after receiving prayers from Dr. Okafor, she was completely healed.

Another testimony came from a woman whose marriage prospects were hindered by ancestral strongholds. Following prophetic prayers by Dr. Okafor, she got married in January 2025, fulfilling the divine declaration made during the service.

The service also recorded numerous miracles, deliverances, and restorations, all to the glory of God. Dr. Chris Okafor concluded by reminding the congregation that marriage is so significant that it appears in both the first and last books of the Bible, underscoring its divine origin and importance.

In Fresh Move Against Corruption, CSOs Partner EFCC on Budget Monitoring

In Fresh Move Against Corruption, CSOs Partner EFCC on Budget Monitoring

Scores of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) under the aegis of the Initiative for Leadership and Economic Watch in Nigeria have expressed their desire to team up with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on monitoring of the budget at national and sub-national levels to ensure optimal performance.

The group stated this during a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of the EFCC, Mr. Ola Olukoyede at the headquarters in Abuja.

In Fresh Move Against Corruption, CSOs Partner EFCC on Budget Monitoring

Speaking on behalf of the leaders of the CSOs, Ambassador Splendor Agbonkpolor said that the groups came together to operate as a committee, basically to focus on budget monitoring and implementation in the country.

“The budget is our major concern. Our mandate is to monitor budget implementation; to assess budget effectiveness, identify budget gaps, advocate for reforms, promote transparency, provide evidence-based reports, collaborate with stakeholders, and support capacity building”, he said.

Speaking further, Agbonkpolor said the CSOs decided to team up with the EFCC “because we believe that the fight against corruption is not a one -man show. It is not a one-agency business. It’s not a sole business of the EFCC. The EFCC needs Nigerians to assist it in terms of reportage and information. The committee believes that corruption starts with procurement. If corruption is tackled from the point of procurement down to the point of implementation, at the end of the day, the money that would be stolen from the budget would be minimized.

“In our work, over time, we discovered that despite the huge money received by contractors for projects, whenever we get to the site, nothing would be there. If we go on site and we see that a project that was supposed to be on ground is not on ground, we will come to the EFCC and say look at this project, look at the amount of money that has been paid, but there is nothing on ground. So, it makes the work easier for the EFCC to just go there and investigate.”

Agbonkpolor stressed the need for collaboration and cooperation in the fight against corruption.

“The need for us to come together as a team, to be more formidable, to be able to render that independent service to enhance the work of EFCC is very important. It is the reason why we put ourselves together and said, let us come as a committee; let us see how we can begin to assist the government in this direction. And that is why we ran to the EFCC through our organizations on behalf of the committee, so that we can have this interface and understanding and more collaboration,” he said.

Olukoyede, on his part, expressed gratitude to the CSOs for showing “deep interest in seeing that Nigeria moves forward”, adding, “we can only achieve that by collaboration. I have been saying it and I will continue to say it that fighting corruption is not the work of law enforcement or anti-corruption agencies alone and that is why I am so much in love with your initiative. I can guarantee you all our support. When I see civil society with us, it gives me confidence that we are succeeding.”

Olukoyede added: “We are all victims of this crime that we are talking about. So, we are ready to work with you. budget implementation and monitoring are very key. We will ensure that our collaboration with you is strong.”

Yinka TNT Relaunches 2024 Song Track, ‘Iya Ajarabuka’
    +Relationship with K1, MC Oluomo

Friends of the Nigerian born UK based relationship expert, Oluyinka Ayanda a.k.a. Yinka TNT, have defended her closeness with some popular male celebrities, describing it as platonic which they note is more realistic for women of her status.

The subject was being discussed based on the perception of some people about Yinka’s open relationship with star personalities like Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde Marshall a.k.a. K1 De Ultimate, Musiliu Akinsanya Ayinde (MC Oluomo) and few other society figures.

Although, Yinka would not speak on the relationship controversy, her friends say there’s nothing wrong with her being friends with the male counterparts as both K1 nad Oluomo are both like senior brothers to her and, according to them, “it’s a lot easier and more likely for a lady, as opposed to man, to seek and maintain strictly non-romantic relationships with the opposite sex.

Yinka, who started her showbiz journey as a radio broadcaster and later delved into singing and hosting relationship topic shows online, few days ago, relaunched via her social media pages, an audio-visual musical track titled ‘Iya Ajarabuka’ (failed motherhood), which she released first on the YouTube in August 2024.

The song, according to Yinka, examines the impact of mothers’ influence on their children’s moral development, as well as the moral burdens and social implications a mother’s carelessness and waywardness could have on her children’s conducts. Reacting to the theory that the album is a diss track targeted at a certain rival in the talk-show business, the popular life coach denied the claim as ‘a piece of gossip’. however, she asserted that the song was waxed to attack the failures of motherhood and help them to be better mothers.

  • IGP Kayode Egbetokun: Patriotism in the Face of Adversity. By Comrade Oladimeji Odeyemi.

IGP Kayode Egbetokun: Patriotism in the Face of Adversity. By Comrade Oladimeji Odeyemi.

IGP Kayode Egbetokun: Patriotism in the Face of Adversity.

    By Comrade Oladimeji Odeyemi.

Patriotism is a personal conviction; a patriot is always ready to risk everything to defend his country against any form of intrusion or any aggression, both internally or externally that may have negative impact on the country, though Nigeria as a country is experiencing some challenges, but there are some patriots who stand out and are ready to give everything to ensure not just safety of the people but enhance a peaceful atmosphere where the nation will prosper, democracy and good governance will thrive and the populace will enjoy the real dividend of democracy.

One of such men with undiluted patriotism and commitment to the Nigerian project is Mr Kayode Egbetokun, Nigeria’s 22nd Inspector General of Police (IGP).

IGP Egbetokun, a brave and courageous security and police strategist who gained enlistment into the prestigious Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) on 3rd March 1990, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in the year 1999.

IGP Kayode Egbetokun was also the Chief Security Officer (CS0) to the then elected governor of Lagos State, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, now President of Nigeria and the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces.

With a resolute determination to defend the territorial integrity and everything about Nigeria, he rose to the position of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) after serving and rising through the ranks .

He has served as the Commander of the Rapid Response Squad, Lagos State Command, Squadron Commander, MOPOL, Anti Fruad Unit, Federal Capital Territory Command Abuja, Chief Superintendent of Police Administration, Lagos State Command, Area Commander, Osogbo, Osun State, Area Commander, Gusau, Zamfara State etc.

Here is an IGP who came at one of the most difficult time in Nigeria’s history when the internal enemies are now collaborating with the external actors to undermine the nation’s security architecture, sponsoring terror, wasting lives, promoting violent crimes and attempting to undermine the Nigerian State with the instumentality of propaganda,.fake news and false narratives.

Upon Mr Kayode Egbetokun appointment as the IGP and the leader of the internal security operations in the Country and within almost two years in office he has been able to douse the tension in the Country by leading the Nigeria Police Force from the front by dealing seriously and decisively with all criminals and animals in human form and have been able restore peace and normalcy to most troubled part of the Country. The Nigeria Police Force under his command have been able to support other sister security agencies to retake and liberate our lost territories, and various internally displaced persons have been able to go back to their ancestral homes.

This intellectually mobile Inspector General of Police in a paper he delivered at the University of Ibadan 2024 Convocation Lecture, the IGP gave an insight on how, he has use the opportunity of his leadership position to influence positive changes in the Nigeria Police Force, he reiterated that the our Police have continued to found goals. In his lecture, he also emphasize the integral role of citizens in the pursuit of national development. He condescend the importance of collaborative effort between security agencies, the government and the citizens, stating that a stable society is essential for sustainable growth. In the said lecture, the IGP called upon the citizens to enhance their constitutional duties, urging them to foster a culture of integrity, patriotism and civility.

This IGP has focused on modernizing the Nigeria Police Force capabilities and adapting to the ever evolving nature of internal security. He has continued to spearhead initiatives to enhance training programmes, improve equipment and promote innovation within ranks, These efforts not only bolstered the NPF’s operational readiness but also ensured the safety and security of our Nation.

Apart from his excellent achievements in combating all criminal elements who have attempted to create a state within the Nigerian state.

IGP Kayode Egbetokun’s commitment to enhancing the capacity of the NPF afforded him the opportunity to set an unprecedented record as the IGP who has continued to use his tenure to boost Nigeria Police Force’s personnel welfare and have facilitated many legacy projects for the Nigeria Police, some of which includes but not limited, to the establishment of Nigeria Police Resource Center, the establishment of the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrimes Center (NPF- NCCC), the Force Intelligence Building, establishment of the Force Public Relations School, establishment of the Police Intelligence School located in Share, Kwara State, the establishment of the Evidence/Exhibit Storage Facilities and most importantly the acquisition of newly acquired assets for the Police, which included, operational vehicles, armoured personnel carriers, drones, gun trucks etc.

Also in terms of personnel welfare, IGP Kayode Egbetokun have been able to excel where many others have failed, one of the laudable achievement of the IGP was the presentation of a total of ₦9.85 Billion ( Nine Billion, Eight Hundred and Fifty Million Naira) to the families of deceased officers under the Group Life Assurance Scheme, also is the establishment of the IGP family welfare scheme, among other various innovations have been the lot of IGP Kayode Egbetokun.

IGP Kayode Egbetokun did not enjoy smooth ride, through his journey of life, right from the childhood till he was appointed IGP by President Bola Tinubu in June 2023. His adversaries did not want him to grow and succeed in his undertakings as we have seen recently, with the activities of some certain highly partisan individuals, however, in spite of his and that of the NPF’s various victories, the theatre of war appeared this time to the types that mocks victory. The attritional self destructive ventures of some insignificant few, expecially some partisan characters, who masquerade as civil society activist, who have no idea of how the Police operates, this individuals persistently called for his head, they wanted him forcefully removed from office without providing a credible alternative means of combating the various internal security issues facing Nigeria, that this IGP and his personnel have tackled and have also continued to stay on top of their game, the giant strides of the Nigeria Police Force, under IGP Egbetokun rather than draw favourable reports from these characters, sadly this individuals and their sponsors would rather engage in a campaign of calumny against IGP Kayode Egbetokun. But through the dint of hard work, patriotism, selflessness and coupled with his absolute faith in the Almighty God, he has continued to emerged victorious against his adversaries.

Of serious concerns is the activities of a certain Omoyele Sowore, the publisher of a blackmailing entity by the sobriquet ” Sahara reporters”, this hired machinery have continued to employ the use of falsehood, fake news and wicked propaganda in perpetuating lies, unfounded reports and publications against the Nigerian Security Agencies, especially the Nigeria Police Force and it’s Inspector General, Mr Kayode Egbetokun, especially on classified operations of the NPF in internal security operations across the Country. There’s an indication of a strong sinister motive to undermine our nation’s security policies by some external influence using some Nigerians as willing tools. One tends to believe that Omoyele Sowore is one of the few individuals employed by this foreign interest to engage in subterfuge and sabotage against the Nigerian State.

While broadcasting is meant to positively influence the society, set agenda for the social, cultural, political and technological development of the society for the public good. One is also aware that the responsibility of any broadcaster is to inform, educate and entertain it’s audience, but not at the expense of national security and interest, unity and cohesion of Nigeria’s incredible diversity.

It’s becoming clearer to most Nigerians that Omoyele Sowore and his sponsors are on a deliberate mission to sabotage our national security policies by tacitly using his platform of sahara reporters to initiate frivolous lies and unfounded accusations against IGP, Kayode Egbetokun and the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force with a view to cause aparty between the Nigerian People and it’s Police Force.

But the good news is that today, the template which IGP Kayode Egbetokun is laying for the NPF, which made him to face the challenges, where he has continued to defeat the various enablers of violent crimes in the Country and all other enemies of Nigeria, is not only effective. But, surely this is a template that’ll be adopted by all other subsequent leadership of the Nigeria Police Force because of its effectiveness. His various subordinates across the sub nationals have also continued on this part of greatness in bringing more lofty achievements, innovations and dynamism into the operational effectiveness of the NPF.

The Nigeria Police Force have continued to regain it’s rightful place as the pride of the black nation.

IGP Kayode Egbetokun’s patriotism and genuine service to the nation have been widely acknowledged and this has brought forth a lot of acknowledgement, honours, laurels and awards to him both locally and internationally.

His contributions to nation building especially in promotion of peace, religious harmony and culture is also acknowledged by Nigerians across all creed.

On the tenure of IGP Kayode Egbetokun, the nation’s Chief Law Officer, the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Mr Lateef Fagbemi has clarified that the continuous stay of Mr Kayode Egbetokun in Office is legal and constitutional contrary to some manupulative assertion by some insidious characters. The Minster of Justice reiterated that an amendment to the Police Act have secured a Four Year term for the occupants of the Inspector General of Police Office. This position of law is clear an not ambiguous.

Here is an Inspector General of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun, who came now, when his Country, Nigeria, needed him most. A loyal IGP to his Country and a loyal IGP to his Commander in Chief.

This article was contributed by Comrade Oladimeji Odeyemi, an entrepreneur, a civil society activist is the Convener of the Coalition of Civil Society Groups Against Terrorism in Nigeria.

TYBLI Unveils 2025 Initiatives to Promote Reading Culture Among Nigerian Students

She noted that the organization created the largest number of winners for a single literary prize in Nigeria, pushing the boundaries of creative recognition and reward. As part of its 2025 agenda, TYBLI plans to build on these achievements with a series of new initiatives: Publication of an Anthology: The best 10 entries from the 2024 YALP competition will be compiled and published at no cost to the participants, with copies distributed to secondary and tertiary institutions nationwide. With clarity and focus, we will continue working towards a more literate Nigeria as a vehicle for social transformation. Please partner with us,” she urged.

Also speaking at the event, Dr. M.S. Abubakar, Vice President of TYBLI, lamented the decline of reading habits among Nigerian youths, attributing it to the proliferation of digital entertainment and mobile gadgets. “It is a sorry state. People now prefer to watch movies instead of reading books. If you mention Things Fall Apart, they ask for the movie instead of the book. Unfortunately, there is no way you can compare reading with watching,” he said. Dr. Abubakar emphasized the need for early reading habits among children, noting that failure to cultivate such habits at a young age could have long-term consequences.

“Someone once said, ‘If you want to hide something from an average Nigerian, put it inside a book.’ But readers are leaders. This initiative should be encouraged and sustained,” he added. He also praised Lt. Gen. Buratai for his commitment to the literary initiative and urged more wealthy Nigerians to invest in literary development, similar to the way industrialists like Andrew Carnegie and Henry Ford funded educational projects in developed nations.

Access Holdings: Imprints of a Thriving Banking Powerhouse

Access Holdings: Imprints of a Thriving Banking Powerhouse, By Bolaji Israel

Access Holdings has continued to evolve and reinforce its corporate stature as a formidable force in Nigeria’s financial sector, demonstrating capacity for relentless growth, resilience and ambition through strategic expansion and innovative approaches. The entity owes its significant bulk to the Access Bank Group, supported by other allied services firms.

Also known as Access Corporation, the group has grown over the last 35 years to emerge as Nigeria’s largest financial holding company, offering services such as commercial banking, lending, payment, insurance, and asset management.

Though Access started off as a corporate bank, it swiftly expanded into personal and business banking in 2012, solidifying its role as a well rounded financial solutions provider.

In his memoir, ‘Leaving the Tarmac: Buying a Bank in Africa, ‘ Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede detailed how himself and his partner, Herbert Wigwe walked the delicate path of buying Access Bank and never looked back since.

The bank’s acquisition in March 2022 by the maverick duo of Aig-Imoukhuede and Wigwe, which changed its entire growth, profit and branding trajectory as well as its merger with Diamond Bank in 2019 which shot up its customer base to over 42 million, granting it a status of the largest bank in Africa by customer base and the largest in Nigeria by assets, form a part of its remarkable and turnaround milestone.

With a keen focus on digitisation-driven growth and customer satisfaction, it has not only solidified its status in Nigeria but has also set its sights on becoming a formidable player in the international banking arena.

The group’s growth and expansion drive has been marked by a series of strategic acquisitions and mergers aimed at enhancing its market presence and delivering value to customers. In 2021, Access Bank acquired African Banking Corporation (ABC Holdings), a move that significantly bolstered its operations in Southern Africa. This acquisition allowed Access Bank to enter markets such as Botswana, Mozambique, and Zambia, thereby enhancing its regional footprint and customer base.

In addition to its African ventures, Access Holding has been eyeing opportunities in Europe and Asia. Recent announcements highlight the bank’s interest in potential partnerships and acquisitions that could facilitate its entry into these lucrative markets. The bank’s management has stated, “We are committed to diversifying our operations and exploring new markets that align with our growth strategy.”

The results of the expansion efforts have been promising. For the year ending 2023, Access Holding reported a staggering 300 percent growth in profit after tax to N612.4 billion, from N204.1 billion in 2022. This represents the largest profit ever recorded by the company, under the leadership of its late co-founder, Herbert Wigwe.

It revenue soared by 80% to N2.6 trillion, from N1.4 trillion in 2022 while assets rose by 78% to N26.7 trillion, from N14.99 trillion in 2022, marking a significant growth trajectory that positions Access Holding as one of Nigeria’s largest and most influential banks.

    Leading Force in Financial Sector

Access Holding’s influence in the financial sector extends beyond its impressive growth metrics. The bank has taken on a leading role in advocating for financial inclusion and economic empowerment across Nigeria and Africa. Through various initiatives, Access Holdings is committed to providing access to banking services for underserved populations, thereby contributing to the broader goal of economic development.

The bank’s emphasis on technology and innovation has positioned it as a leader in the digital banking space, setting benchmarks for other financial institutions to follow. By continuously enhancing its service offerings and embracing new technologies, Access Holding is shaping the future of banking in Nigeria and beyond.

    Innovations and Technological Advancements

Access has prioritized innovation as a cornerstone of its growth strategy. Over the past two years, the bank has invested heavily in upgrading its technology infrastructure to provide customers with seamless and efficient banking experiences. The launch of a robust digital banking platform is a clear testament to this commitment. The improved platform allows customers to perform a wide range of transactions, from fund transfers to bill payments, all from the convenience of their mobile devices.

The bank’s mobile banking app has also seen significant upgrades, incorporating features such as biometric authentication, personalized financial insights, and enhanced security protocols. These innovations have resulted in a marked increase in user engagement, with over 10 million active users reported in 2024.

Moreover, Access has revitalized its Point of Sale (POS) services to cater to the growing demand for cashless transactions. The bank has deployed thousands of POS terminals across Nigeria, facilitating secure and efficient payment solutions for businesses and consumers alike.

    Leadership and Succession

The unfortunate demise of Dr Herbert Wigwe, CFR, the Company’s founding Group Chief Executive Officer and former Group Managing Director of its flagship subsidiary, Access Bank Plc on Friday, February 9, 2024, in a helicopter accident in the United States of America, would have constituted a permanent clog for any company without a formidable structure.

Access Holdings has however been able to rise above the dark moment and steadied the ship with the return of Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede as Chairman and emergence of Bolaji Agbede as GCEO. The swift realignment is a clear testament to the group’s ability to deftly manage succession.

    Growth Outlook and Ambition

Access growth results and targets highlight its ambitious nature. The banking group aims to achieve a market capitalization of ₦10 trillion by 2025, with plans to expand its customer base to over 50 million across its operational territories. This ambition is supported by strategic partnerships and potential mergers, not only within Nigeria but globally.

Analysts have noted that Access Holdings is well-positioned to capitalise on the growing demand for financial services across Africa and beyond. With a solid foundation and an eye on expansion, the bank is poised to become a leading financial institution on the global stage.

The landscape of mergers and acquisitions in the banking sector has been vibrant, and Access Holdings is keen on exploring potential opportunities. In Nigeria, the banking industry has witnessed a wave of consolidation, with several banks seeking to enhance their market positions through strategic mergers. Access has expressed interest in potential acquisitions that align with its growth strategy, particularly in the areas of technology and customer service.

Globally, the banking group is also exploring partnerships that can facilitate its entry into new markets. The management has indicated that Access Holding is open to collaborating with fintech companies and other financial institutions that can complement its service offerings and enhance customer value.

    Crisis Looms in APC

….As Elected National Deputies demands for equity, justice and sense of belonging…

All seems not to be well in the ruling party, Apc at the National level due to alleged injustice melted out to some elected National deputies of the Party.

Recently some NWC and NEC members were offered appiontment in some Parastals, to the utmost suprise of everybody some of the elected Deputies were left out.

According to a reliable source, this injustice has been on going since they were elected, they were not giving housing or car allowances like thier colleagues, Most Affected are the following

    -Deputy National Legal adviser
    -Deputy National Youth Leader
    -Deputy National Treasurer
    -Deputy National Auditor
-Deputy National Welfare officer are not also members of the NWC,
while some National Deputies are members.

The following elected National Officers were also left out in the last appointments announced.
    The National Ex-Officio South-West
    National Ex-Officio South+South
    National Ex-Officio North-Central
    National Ex-Officio South-East
    National Ex-Officio North- West
    National Ex-Officio North East

Worst of it all happened During the last Christmas and new year celebrations, were NWC members shared 20 bags each to themselves without even giving the Non NWC National Officers any. They weren’t given other items that were shared like their colleagues got. They see it as greed on the part of their colleagues in NWC.
They also did not benefit from the Housing and vehicle allowances their fellow colleagues in NWC gave themselves.

If not for the respect they have for Mr president by now they would have Been protests,.

A reliable source informed us that the Non NWC Deputies together with the Ex officio are planning for a Show-down next week if their demands are not met promptly.

They claim they all worked for the emergence of Mr President and were also elected the same day as their colleagues who got appointments as Chairman of Federal Government agencies and wondered why the National Chairman of their party APC did not forward their names to Mr President for Federal appointments.

…Urges Amnesty International, others to wade in

A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) known as the Voice of Truth Nigeria (VTN) has accused the Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani of keeping political prisoners in spite of valid and subsisting orders of court of competent jurisdiction granting them bail.

In a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja by VTN’s Programmes Coordinator, Dare Quadri, the group stated that the political prisoners are Jimi Adebisi Lawal, the former Senior Advisor and Counsellor to ex-Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai; Umar Waziri, the former Accountant-General of Kaduna State; Bashir Saidu, a former Kaduna State Commissioner of Finance and Yusuf Inuwa, also a former Commissioner for Finance in the state.

The statement reads in part “It is worrisome that a man who parades himself as an activist and a member of the civil society would abuse his office and resort to using his position to compromise the judiciary and victimize political opponents who were charged on trumped on charges even when the court has granted them bail and they have since met the bail conditions. It is commonplace that an accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty. But, in Governor Uba Sani’s Kaduna State, the reverse seems to be the case.

“It is a sad commentary on our judiciary that the application for the variation of the bail terms have been stalled over one flimsy excuse or the other.

“According to credible information available to us, while Saidu was accused of laundering N155 million; Lawal, Waziri, Inuwa and a company known as Solar Life Nigeria Limited were charged for allegedly laundering N64.8 million by the Independent and Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) on the 21st of January, 2025, contrary to the earlier unfounded claim of misappropriating the sum of N423 billion.

“After taking their non-guilty pleas, the Federal High Court heard their bail applications and consequently granted them bail. The court ordered the defendants to provide two sureties with N50 million each, who must have landed property in Kaduna with verified Certificates of Occupancy.

“Shortly after the defendant were granted bail, the agency responsible for the verification of Certificates of Occupancy (Cs of O), Kaduna Geographical Information Service (KADGIS), suddenly suspended verification services for Certificates of Occupancy (Cs of O), just as its Director-General was said to have suddenly travelled out of Kaduna to an unknown destination and without any information as to when he would return.

“All these schemes, we were reliably informed, were at the instance and under the direction of Governor Sani who has vowed to keep the defendants behind bars for as long as he desires. And to make through his boastings the defendants has remained in prison custody since the 21st of January, 2025 even when they have met all the bail conditions because KADGIS, acting on the instruction of Governor Sani, refused to verify the Certificates of Occupancy (Cs of O) in spite of two letters written by Mrs Anthonia Layi Oyibo, the Deputy Registrar of the Federal High Court, Kaduna, seeking their verification. The first was dated 21st day of January, 2025 and the second was dated 3rd February, 2025.”

The group therefore urged all well-meaning Nigerians, the international community and foremost human rights organisations, such as Amnesty International (AI) and Human Rights Law Service (HURILAWS), among others, to prevail on Governor Sani to stop the abuse of power and free all the political prisoners “without further delay”.
