In the aftermath of unabated killings in the country, the leadership of TALAKAWA’S PARLIAMENT, a civil society group in Edo state, led by Comrade Marxist Kola Edokpaiyi, has berated  the Federal Government of Nigeria on the continuous attacked by herdsmen and other bandits on innocent Nigerians.

The group made the condemnation during a press briefing in Benin against the background of Incessant attack on the citizens calling on the federal government led by president Muhammadu Buhari to as a matter of urgency be proactive and workout modalities to arrest the ugly incident that is gradually degenerating into Hobessian state of nation, where life is “Nasty, brutish and short”.

According to them, “Patriotism means to stand by the country but not to stand by the president while condemning in their strongest terms the killings of harmless Nigerians in Benue, Taraba, Nasarawa, Kogi states and the recent genocidal attack on Sunday, 24th June 2018 where several villages in Barkin Ladi Local Government Areas of Plateau state were attacked and about 200 lives were lost.

In their words, “we condemn the inability of the security agencies particularly the police not providing security protections for the masses which makes them to be exposed to repressive, satanic and monstrous attacks by the armed bandits who don’t mean well for the country.

We also condemn in strong terms the creation of cattle colony or establishment of cattle ranching by the federal government in some states including Edo state despite the security threat it portends, we don’t understand why the federal government is interested in establishing business ventures for individuals while vast majority of the masses are suffocating in the iron grip of poverty.

They also frowned at a situation whereby the security agents who risked their lives on daily basis to ensure that there is peace and harmony in the country will now have to resort to protest for their salaries and allowances of over six months to be paid even when billions of tax payers monies are allocated to the force through the office of the Inspector General of Police.

They however, demand for the sack of all security chiefs in the country, that they have displayed the highest level of mediocrity and incompetency over the killings of innocent Nigerians.

They urged the Federal Government to look into the plight of innocent Nigerians and do what is expected of them.

Speaking on the Association of Miyetti Allah who have allegedly claimed responsibilities of the various attacks, they added that the Federal Government should declare Miyetti Allah Association a Terrorist Group the same way it went ahead to declare the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) a terrorist Organization for merely agitating for self determination.
