Abiodun consoles Ondo State governor, Akeredolu over mother’s death

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has commiserated with his Ondo State counterpart, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, over the demise of his mother, Lady Evangelist Grace Akeredolu.

Madam Akeredolu passed on peacefully in her sleep in the early hours of Thursday at the age of 90 years.

 

 

 

 

Abiodun in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin, described the death of Lady Evangelist Akeredolu as painful, even at the advanced age of 90.

He said that the deceased as a caring and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, would be missed not only by his biological children, grand children and great grand children, but her family members and everyone she came across while alive.

 

 

Abiodun, in the statement, while condoling with Governor Akeredolu, urged him not to grief, but be consoled with the fact that his mother transited to her Lord in His service and that of humanity.

Describing the late Lady Evangelist as a virtuos woman and a devout Christian, whose life impacted positively on members her family and community, the governor noted that her life was encapsulated with good deeds, service, industry and humanitarian gestures

 

 

 

 

 

“Though Mama has gone to be with her Lord and Creator, her life was enough a lesson for all of us to learn from. As a devout Christian, she served God with all her heart and ensured that her family members, friends and acquaintances, all benefited from her caring and warm disposition.

“We all shall continue to remember her for good; her life is indeed worthy of emulation as she epitomized virtuousity and piety.

 

 

 

 

 

“At this time, we should not grief, but celebrate the joining of the Saints Triumphant by our dear Mama.

“I pray that our Lord will grant Madam Akeredolu eternal rest in His bosom. On behalf of my family, the government and people of Ogun State, I express my heart-felt commiseration with Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, the government and the people of Ondo State, on the passing of Lady Evangelist Grace Akeredolu. May her soul continue to find repose in the Lord”, the statement concluded.

Sahara Weekly Reports That The Nigerian Association of Social And Resourceful Editors (NASRE) has once again demonstrated its commitment to uplifting the media community by distributing Yuletide gifts to veterans, families of deceased journalists, and other beneficiaries.

In its annual outreach, NASRE provided food items and cash support to families in Lagos and Ogun states. Recipients included Folusho Samuel, Thomas Peter, Qudus Adewole (Ebony), Simeon Ugwu, Niyi Agboola, and Mrs. Adewunmi, among others.

 

 

Speaking on the initiative, NASRE President Comrade Femi Oyewal, highlighted the association’s dedication to supporting its members and their families, particularly during festive seasons.

 

 

“This is a time for giving and reflection. At NASRE, we are committed to showing our veterans and their families that their sacrifices and contributions to society are deeply valued. Beyond festive seasons, we strive to impact lives meaningfully throughout the year,” Oyewale said.
