Alleged threat to life: Police, Ogun Assembly receive petition on Agbado monarch, Oba Adedayo Shyllon

 

 

The families of Abosule, Akintoye, Ayanbiyi, Adeyeri and Owodeyi of Agbado Ifo Local Government of Ogun State, Nigeria, have petitioned the Nigeria Police force, Ogun State House of Assembly and other relevant authorities over alleged “threat to life” by the Alagbado of Agbado, Oba Adedayo Shyllon.

 

 

The petition is dated 9 January, 2024 and signed by City Crown Chambers as legal representative to the aggrieved families headed by Chief Moruf Ajani.

 

 

A copy of the petition made available to this medium, reads in part: “That Oba Adedayo Shyllon on the 5th January, 2024 at about 11:00am lead with some group of people numbering 15 with dangerous weapons viz-a-viz guns, cutlasses, irons and drove our client away from his landed property with his family.

 

 

“That our client and his family inherited their property even before our client was born and not until 5th January, 2024, nobody has ever challenged our client family in possession on their landed property.”

 

 

The petition further alleged that “On that fateful day, 5th January, 2024, Oba Shyllon Adedayo came with other 15 unknown people and scattered our client’s property and boasted with hoodlums and unscrupulous people, persistently threatened always, unleashed great terror on our client and bent on chasing him and his family away from their landed property.

 

 

According to the petitioner, some of the hoodlums who Oba Adedayo allegedly took to the site for the act are Mr Segun (alias Killer/Sego) and Mr Jaye (alias No Mercy/Baba Oja) among others.

 

 

 

When contacted on phone by our reporter, Oba Shyllon Adedayo denied leading thugs to invade the property, but said there is a pending court case on the property in question. “Besides, it is a piece of land earmarked for railway project,” he said.

A fire outbreak on Monday, 23 February 2026, triggered panic at the international terminal of Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. The blaze, reportedly caused by an electrical fault within a service section of the terminal, was swiftly contained by officials of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service.
