Anambra Police Launch Manhunt for Killers of Three Children in Nise Community

The Anambra State Police Command has initiated a manhunt for the perpetrators responsible for the brutal killing of three children at their home in the Nise community, located in the Awka South Local Government Area of the state.

The victims, all siblings aged between two and six years, were murdered at their residence on Saturday night. According to the police, the killers scaled the fence of the compound, gaining entry into the premises undetected before committing the heinous act. After killing the children, the assailants reportedly placed their lifeless bodies inside a Mercedes Benz car parked within the compound before fleeing the scene.

SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the spokesperson for the Anambra State Police Command, confirmed the incident to our correspondent on Monday. He stated that the murder occurred late on Saturday, with the police only being alerted to the crime late on Sunday.

Although the exact motive for the killings remains unclear, sources in the area have speculated that the crime may be linked to ongoing disputes involving the children’s father, a native doctor and businessman, with some unnamed individuals over a business deal. One anonymous source described the tragic scene, saying, “The three young boys were at their parents’ house in Nise when an unidentified person or persons scaled the fence and murdered them in cold blood. Their bodies were found with their mouths tied and left in pools of blood inside their father’s car.”

The source further explained that the children’s father, a young man in his early 30s, is known to lock his children inside the compound while he and their mother go about their business. The family’s daily routine reportedly involved the father returning to serve the children a meal before leaving again.

Efforts to reach the father for comment were unsuccessful, as he declined to speak on the matter.

In response to the killing, Ikenga revealed that police operatives had visited the scene and removed the bodies of the victims. A manhunt has since been launched for the suspects, with local residents providing critical information that is aiding the investigation.

“We have taken over the scene, interacted with those around, and are using the information gathered to launch a manhunt for the assailants,” Ikenga said. “We are working to uncover the reasons behind the killings and whether it was a result of negligence on the part of the father or the motives of the suspects.”

The police spokesperson assured the public that once the investigation is concluded, the findings would be made available.

As the investigation continues, residents of Nise are left in shock, with many awaiting further updates on the case.

Ibadan-Based Broadcaster Peter Olasupo Summoned by INTERPOL Over Allegations of Defamation and Cyberstalking

Peter Olasupo, a well-known Ibadan-based broadcaster, has been summoned by the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) to appear before its office over allegations of criminal defamation and cyber-stalking. According to a statement posted on his Facebook page, Olasupo revealed that he received an official letter from INTERPOL on December 30, 2024, instructing him to report to INTERPOL headquarters at Force Headquarters, Shehu Shagari Way, Garki, Abuja, at 11:00 am.

In his post, Olasupo explained that his initial appearance was rescheduled to Monday, January 13, 2025, as part of an ongoing investigation into the allegations.

“Upon receiving the letter through my boss, my boss immediately contacted our able lawyer Barr. Yomi Ogunlola, who responded on my behalf, resulting in a rescheduled appearance date of Monday, 13th January 2025,” Olasupo stated.

The broadcaster expressed his confusion over the situation, asking a series of questions in his Facebook post. “Who reported me to INTERPOL? Why INTERPOL? Who is defaming who? And who is cyberstalking who?” he wrote. “My Lord, I am innocent of these allegations.”

Though he acknowledged the seriousness of the summons, Olasupo raised concerns about the logistics of traveling to Abuja for the questioning. He questioned why he could not report to a more accessible location such as the Oyo State Command in Ibadan or the Lagos office of INTERPOL. “INTERPOL, if you truly want to facilitate this process, shouldn’t you at least provide travel allowances? Or will you use police helicopters to carry me?” he added humorously. Despite the inconvenience, Olasupo assured his followers that he would cooperate fully with the investigation.

In a separate confirmation to DailyPost on Sunday night, Olasupo affirmed the authenticity of the letter and the ongoing situation, saying, “Yes, it’s true oo.”

The case, which involves INTERPOL, has stirred public curiosity, with many awaiting further developments as Olasupo prepares to appear for questioning in Abuja. Olasupo concluded his message by reassuring his fans that the situation would not affect his commitment to professionalism and dedication to speaking truthfully to those in power.
