Betta Edu: Youths Nominate Halimat Tejuosho for Consideration as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs

The leadership of Concern Nigerian Youths for Good Governance CNYGG has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider Dr. Halimat Adnike Tejuosho as a substantial replacement for the suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Betta Edu.

This was disclosed in a statement released on Thursday by the Convener Concern Nigerian Youths for Good Governance (CNYGG) Amb. Mahmud Abubakar in Abuja.

While commending the effort of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his bold step towards addressing matters that concern governance without compromise, Abubakar noted that the President’s unwavering resolve has brought in sanity into the Nigeria polity. According to him, history shall be kind to the profounder of the Renewed Hope.

“Among the exemplary actions exhibited by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu which has trial commendation even by critics is the suspension of Mrs. Betta Edu, from her position as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation over diversion of public funds to a personal. While we salute the President for his unprecedented performance, we wish to assert that the absence of a public officer should not halt the process of governance, as such the leadership of Concern Nigerian Youth for Good Governance wishes to state as follows;

“Considering the veracity of the Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Ministry, we noted that the ministry is primed to alleviate the less privileged and downtrodden from their deplorable condition, suffice to say the ministry is in dire need of a person with a sterling record of integrity to man its affairs.

“Consequent upon these facts, We find it worthy and of most pertinence to recommend the nomination of Dr. Halimat Adenike Tejuosho as Ministerial Nominee for the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation in recognition of her selfless services to the nation and the less privileged. It is crucial to have individuals with a strong record of integrity to oversee its affairs.

“The veracity of the ministry’s mission and its ability to effectively alleviate poverty and help those in need depends on the integrity of its personnel. Integrity is a fundamental quality required in any position of power or responsibility, especially when dealing with vulnerable populations. Individuals with a sterling record of integrity are more likely to prioritize the needs of the less privileged over personal gain or corruption.

“They will ensure that resources are allocated appropriately, programs are implemented effectively, and that the ministry operates transparently and ethically. All these are proven qualities of Dr. Halimat Adenike Tejuosho and we are very sure she will deliver the mandate of the office without an iota of jeopardy.”

In his recommendation, “Dr. Halimat’s spirit of philanthropism cut across ethnic and religious lines as she finds joy in providing succour to vulnerable Nigerians including internally displaced persons. Her 100% free scholarship scheme for the less privileged will continue to remain a reference point as many youths have benefited and still benefiting from it. If allowed to act, no doubt Halima will serve beyond expectations by working assiduously to achieve the mission of the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr President.

“As concerned citizens of this great nation, we hail President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda on zero tolerance on corruption, Her Hajesty Halimat Tejuosho shall add value in moving the Renewed Hope administration team to the highest quality in the fight against corruption. Her Majesty had been long in total submissions in the campus of the Renewed Hope agenda that should be given the opportunity and privilege to serve and exhibit her leadership prowess in the management of resources.

Abubakar concluded noting that the Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Ministry plays a vital role in improving the lives of the less privileged. “To ensure its success, it is imperative to have individuals with a proven track record of integrity to lead and manage its affairs. Only through the appointment of such persons can the ministry gain the trust and support necessary to make a meaningful impact on poverty alleviation and humanitarian efforts.”

Recall that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday suspended Betta Edu as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation over the N585.2 Million Scandal.

In the vibrant world of Fuji music, where the artistry of storytelling and cultural commentary thrive, Saheed Osupa has carved out a unique role as both an artist and an influencer of thought. Recently, his name has been lighting up social media discussions and generating significant buzz—not just because of his music but because of the depth of his words. Osupa’s trending status is rooted in his ability to subtly address pressing issues, particularly those surrounding the ongoing tension between fellow Fuji musicians Taye Currency and Pasuma Wonder.

Osupa’s recent contributions to this situation have not been straightforward; rather, he has adopted an artistic approach, using parables and proverbs—sometimes through complex storytelling—to impart wisdom. These nuanced messages, often hidden within his lyrics, resonate with fans who appreciate the clever way he brings age-old Yoruba wisdom into contemporary issues. One notable example involves a story about an animal (traditionally symbolizing patience and resilience) that many believe reflects Osupa’s thoughts on rivalry and pride. Through this parable, he seems to suggest the importance of self-reflection and restraint, especially in the heat of conflict.

In a genre that values not only musicality but also the power of words, Osupa has long been seen as a master of *itan*, or storytelling. His recent songs echo the traditional Yoruba way of imparting wisdom through tales that serve as lessons. This is a skill that few artists have mastered, making his approach particularly impactful in today’s fast-paced digital world, where nuanced messages can often be overlooked.

Beyond the Taye Currency-Pasuma Wonder issue, Osupa’s trending status is also due to his reputation as a voice of reason and maturity in Fuji music. As a genre that is often vibrant and full of competitive spirit, Fuji has its share of rivalries. Yet, Osupa has often stood out by promoting unity and peaceful dialogue among Fuji artists. By sharing these reflective stories in his music, he adds layers of meaning that fans continue to unpack and discuss, drawing new audiences who appreciate both the artistry and wisdom behind his words.

The charm of Saheed Osupa lies in his timeless approach. In a world where trends are fleeting, he reminds fans of the importance of timeless values, urging reflection, humility, and understanding. As fans interpret and share his latest stories, Osupa’s message continues to resonate widely—proof that, in Fuji, the power of words can be as influential as the beat of the drum.
