Saraki, Dogara, Chris Ngige embarrased publicly in Abuja on Workers’ Day

The President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, Speaker, House of Reps, Yakubu Dogara, Minister of Employment, Labour and Productivity, Chris Ngige and other government functionaries, were publicly humiliated, on Monday, at the Eagle Square’s venue of this year’s May Day Celebration.

The event was disrupted for close to one hour by workers who barred government officials from delivering the speech from the federal government.

All attempts made by former Comrade Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole couldn’t save the situation, as he was also stopped by workers who were chanting “we no go gree.”

Workers started throwing water cans to the officials when Police made attempts to drive them out of the podium.

Meanwhile, Police have brought armoured tanks and hot water Canon machines to disperse the rampaging workers.

The dignitaries were, however, smuggled out through the back door of the state box.

  • Court remands serial blackmailer in prison over attack on Sterling Bank Staff

Court remands serial blackmailer in prison over attack on Sterling Bank Staff

Staff of Sterling Bank, especially those who were made fair game for attack by ‘dubious’ blogger, Tega Oghenedoro alias Fejiro Oliver, are now heaving a sigh of relief. The blogger, who writes using pseudonyms, was arraigned and remanded in prison custody in Lagos for cyber stalking.

In 2014, Oghenedoro was arrested at the Abuja Airport by the DSS for attempting to extort N50 million from the governor of Niger State. The ‘blogger’ was a staff of Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) in Asaba as a camera man, when he used a pseudonym to demand N50 million from the Niger State government as a condition for dropping a juicy story on the governor.

After the news of Oghenedoro’s detention broke last Friday, a Facebook user familiar with his mode of operation, Obiri Ebilade, wrote on the blogger’s wall: “Many days for the thief, one day for the owner. I think hand don touch Oliver Fejiro, the serial blackmailer.” Ebilade is the former president of the National Association of Delta State Students (NADESSTU).

Before his arrest and arraignment in court, Oghenedoro and his accomplice, Dennis Ukpabi, a disgruntled former staff of Sterling Bank, used the controversial Secret Reporters Blog to publish libelous stories about his former colleagues. Ukpabi’s leverage was knowledge of the details of a 2014 fraud investigated by the bank which led to the sack of a member of staff responsible for the crime.

Ukpabi, who departed the bank unceremoniously over petty squabbles with some of his colleagues, allegedly contracted the services of Oghenedoro to inflict maximum damage on his perceived enemies in the bank. Oghenedoro swung into action by publishing vicious and slanderous stories about Ukpabi’s perceived enemies on the payroll of Sterling Bank using his online platform. He was later arrested and remanded in prison custody.

Immediately after Oghenedoro’s recent arrest, his associates blamed the former governor of Delta State, Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan, for his ordeal. Truly so, Uduaghan had petitioned the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, alleging intimidation and threats from the person of Oghenedoro alias Fejiro Oliver.

Ukpabi and Oghenedoro were arraigned before a Federal High Court in Lagos last Friday for acts punishable under the provisions of Section 24 of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition and Prevention etc.) Act, 2015.

The first charge read, “That you Dennis Ukpabi and Tega Oghenedoro between 1st – 13th February, 2017 in Lagos within the jurisdiction of Federal High Court, conspired together to commit felonies, namely, knowingly and intentionally sending intimidated, hatred, insulting and needless anxiety messages and thereby committing an offence punishable under section 27 (1) (b) of Cybercrime (prohibition, prevention etc. Act 2015).”

Another charge read that the accused sent offensive messages to Desalu, Busola Awosile, Nyenke and Adeyemi Odubiyi, which are said to be ‘’punishable under section 24 (1) (b) of Cybercrime (prohibition, prevention etc. Act 2015.’’

Dennis Ukpabi and Tega Oghenedoro however pleaded not guilty to the charges. But the prosecution counsel, Mr. J. Oloruntoba, asked the court to remand the defendants in prison custody.

Frantic efforts were made by lawyers representing the two defendants; Mrs. Kitan and Mr. Inibehe Effiong, to persuade the court to admit them to bail. Effiong, who is an associate of Oghenedoro, informed the court that the defendants were accosted by the police and arraigned surreptitiously without proper and adequate notice. Effiong, a self-styled human rights activist, was also his lawyer in the 2014 extortion case with Niger State government.

The trial judge, Justice Mohammed Idris, asked the defendants’ counsel to bring a formal application for bail and promised to hear it expeditiously.

The judge remanded them in Ikoyi Prisons.

THERESA MAY A MUST MANDATE UK PRIME MINISTER FOR 2017, BRITISH AND COMMONWEALTH CITIZENS CAST YOUR VOTES – HER KNOWLEDGEABLE PROFESSOR ALEXIA THOMAS PRONOUNCES

THERESA MAY IS HISTORY GENIUS IN THE MYTH; She May Be As Feeble As A Woman, She Is One Woman That Could Match 1 Million Men.— By Her Knowledgeable Professor Alexia

Theresa May Is The Eagle To Bring Back The Glory And Honour To Keep The Continuous Existence Of The British Monarchy As It Is Willed In Authorities Of Divine Right Of The Kings.— By Her Knowledgeable Professor Alexia

As the election of 8th of June 2017 draws closer, barely six weeks to Voting, Her Knowledgeable Professor Alexia Thomas calls every Citizens of the United Kingdom, every Citizens of the Commonwealth Nations and all British Political Parties to stand at ease and give their Votes to the one and only Theresa May, that — She Will, She Must and She Would be British Prime Minister for 2017.

History is about to be made as United Kingdom takes back her Sovereignty. The United Kingdom is the World, United Kingdom is the Globe, United Kingdom is the Giant and the Hunk that brought Civilization Cradle to the entire World in generality.

Theresa May triggered Article 50 and this is no Time to make Mockery of the British Politics. She must finish what she has started and Political Hindrances cannot jeopardize the Will of the British People. She has started well and she must end it with all Tempestuousness.

The Election for 8thJune 2017, whoever has commune it to push the British People to go into the Ballot is a Disdain Act to put British Politics into Mockery. The European Union (EU) are shanks because they live by the strength of the British People, the British Power, the British Economy and the British Industrialization.

We as United Kingdom, her People, her Citizens, the Government and its VERITAS of Authority, we must not allow our Statute of Authority to be imprisoned by the EU monstrous illusion of Hypocritical Theory that without them we cannot exist as a Nation.

—- I Her Knowledgeable Professor Alexia Thomas say to my People of the United Kingdom, we will exist without the EU. They will and must be subjected to our Authority because we made them who they are after the 2nd World War. The EU cajoled us into a Club that was meant for the Generosity of Humanism, but little did we know their Club was a blood sucking Mongos to steal our Heritage and subject our British Nation to a Protectorate.

On this occasion, going by the list of Candidates aligned for the Election of June 8, 2017, Theresa May is the best Candidate, the Greatest and the Mightiest and I therefore command every other Candidate to step down and do not match her for a Competition, because she has been chosen and ordained to lead the British People in their quest to take Authority as the Head of the World.

On this occasion, I Her Knowledgeable Professor Alexia Thomas Salute Theresa May’s Courage as a Tempestuous Woman who has so much Sagacity, Power, Authority that in no connotation I Pronounce that the Identity of the Woman Theresa May, that she may be as Feeble as a Woman, she is one woman that could match 1 Million Men.

I, Her Knowledgeable Professor Alexia Thomas say to my British People, fear not. I say unto you, give your Votes to Theresa May and you shall have no cause to be alarmed.

—- I, Her Knowledgeable Professor Alexia Thomas have spoken as an Oracle, as a Messenger of Truth, the Goddess of Love and the Defender of the Universe, that on this occasion that the World is at War testing their Nuclear Powers with Dictators like President Donald Trump of America, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin of Russia and Kim Jun-Un the Leader of North Korea, there is no other person that could match the game of chess than the one and only English Goddess Prime Minister Theresa May.

Prime Minister Theresa May’s involvement in Politics is not by mistake, but it has been carefully ordained by divinity for the British War of the Battle of Armageddon, as history the Myth of the Future declares her to hold the Baton of Authority and reclaim British Authority and Sovereignty as a Free People and uphold their Voice in Ponderosity.

Prime Minister Theresa May is the Eagle to bring back the Glory and Honour to keep the continuous existence of the British Monarchy as it is Willed in the Authorities of the Divine Rights of the Kings. Theresa May must win and must be UK Prime Minister. She must win for the United Kingdom to Live and Rise again.

There shall be no ‘Political Cajole Of Malice, There Shall Be No Political Jeopardy, There Shall Be No Political Hindrances, There Shall Be No Political Menaces, There Shall Be No Junta Politics, There Shall Be No Rivalry Hunt Fierce’. Any attempt to deny her Willful Authority to climb British Leadership of Prime Ministership2017, failure to appraise her will see the destruction of the United Kingdom.

SO, BRITISH PEOPLE CAST YOUR VOTES FOR THERESA MAY, SHE IS THE BEST CANDIDATE.

In the Past I havedragged Theresa May with the Pen and I dusted her with my Words; Irrespective of what I think about her, Politics has no Sentiments. She is a better Candidate that will take the British People to the mark of History and bring back their Values and Virtues.

Jeremy Corbyn, the Labour leader is too old, weak and too sick, most especially, he is disabled in the mind because he lacks the British Political Mythology most especially of the Elizabethan era of the 15th Century, the reason he cried like a baby when Britain got their hallmark to leave the European Union.

The Tempestuous Of Liberty Is A Man’s Birth Rights Not To Be Subjected To Another Man’s Will, If The Rule Prevails Not. — By Her Knowledgeable Professor Alexia Thomas

Theresa May has the Political will and Political sagacity to dictate the Pace between Russia, America and European Union. She has a Ponderous Will and she is not a feather. She can malign the Brass or Center-Brass of any Political figure in the world.

    WHO IS THERESA MAY?

She is best known for her Prindle Policies that dictate the Pace. At times, Men can be governed by enforcement of Authority. No leader is Mad, at times she finds herself in a Position where strict decisions have to be taken, that doesn’t make her a Tyrant or does it make her Wicked or Mad. No! No! No! A Bad leader of Yesterday could be a good Leader Today, depending on her Advisory Council.

The Menaces Of Politics Should Never Really Put A Blame On A Leader Because The Actions Of The Government Is The Actions Of The Cabinet, Simply Democracy In The Political House. — Her Knowledgeable Professor Alexia Thomas

    — I, Her Knowledgeable Professor Alexia Thomas says to the People of the British Empire — United Kingdom Arise For Greatness, Arise to Conquer, Arise For Jubilation, Arise For Celebration, Arise For Honour, Arise For Fame, Arise For Freedom, Arise For Security, Hail Motherland, Hail Your Sovereignty, Hail Today, Hail Tomorrow, Hail Victory, Hail Success, Hail Prosperity, Welcome to the New World, You Are The Children Of Grace. Your Right to Justice is your Will of Freedom.

  • Being a Young Lawyer is not a Disadvantage, my Young Lawyers between One to Seven Years at the Bar by Olumide Akindiya, Esq.

Being a Young Lawyer is not a Disadvantage, my Young Lawyers between One to Seven Years at the Bar by Olumide Akindiya, Esq.

My belief has always been that years at the bar does not mean superior knowledge of law. This was due to my early preparedness for this profession right from 400 level that I had been appearing in courts to watch proceedings, jolted some points and after being a law graduate, I did internship in a law firm before the time for law school. During my law school, I had made findings on law practice and I had my three goals: contributing to law practice; taking my benefits I am entitled to in law profession and contributing to my community and Nigeria as a whole. This led to my investment in legal research, legal writings and advocacy; my early exit from one year pupilage and marrying my potentials of mental argument, writing and speaking with my law profession.

It is not gainsaying that majority of young lawyers (ie within 1 year to 7 lawyer at the bar) are not paid reasonable salaries in which I was inclusive and are seen as lawyers of little law knowledge. I am not saying floating a law firm should be based on peanut being paid as salary because you will face higher responsibilities with huge sacrifice practising alone. When you become a principal, you will understand more – if you are not ready, stay under supervision for many years as you can or search for a law firm who will allow private practice for their junior lawyers. Really, floating a law firm as a young lawyer requires inner motivation to succeed, particularly getting clients when you are not to solicit for clients, but can do fair advertising.

Being a young lawyer is not a disadvantage, it requires critical thinking like a senior; work everyday like a senior; have a law library like a senior; increase your legal research; nurture your advocacy; have confidence and know what you want in this law profession. Simply, try to be different and stand out! Years at the bar has nothing to do with brillancy or superior, law knowledge. In believing this, I have pulled out some young lawyers from their principals to start practising on theirs and many of them are performing excellently while adjusting to the economic situation. However, major challenge is joint brief with a senior and the senior does all the talking in court without the junior lawyer’s imput in open court based on NBA’s ethic of seniority at the bar.

As a matter of referrence, within my period as a young lawyer, I offered pro bono services to selected individuals, companies and organisations; handled cases to a point of recommendation from clients, people and judicial officers; contributed to a law profession through legal orientation on media, law lectures in Lagos and Abuja; law column in a newspaper and out of my 6 awards bagged in Lagos, Abuja and Kaduna. 5 of it were during my young lawyer years by NBA classification of young lawyer from 1 to 7 years of being a lawyer. My unhappiness was my failure to publish my first law book and being a Notary Public at seven years at the bar owing to finance, introduction of Administration of Criminal Justice Act in 2015 while the Notary Public was due to procedural delay, human negligence, personal envy and choice. Based on my profile, some judicial officers appreciated my law contribution in legal writings, maximising my potentials for law and building a good profile. My tonic was that being a young law did not mean i had a young brain. You can win your senior, it is not new. Year at the bar is just a matter of number and not superior, legal knowledge. We all have access to law books, law reports and can consult a lawyer who has a wider legal knowledge on specific area of law. To my young lawyers, look beyond salary; build your profiles with your clients and know what you want in this profession so as to make a difference in this profession. Salary should still not be an excuse because you are more than whom you think you are!

APC candidate rejects Ebonyi council polls result

The All progressive Congress chairmanship candidate, Kelechi Okorie, in the last Ebonyi local council polls conducted on Saturday has rejected the result of the polls for Ivo Local government area.

Okorie alleged that the poll was marred by massive electoral fraud in the place.

A statement by his Personal Assistant on Media and Publicity, Prince Williams Ajah, alleged that during the polls an attempt was made on his life at Akaeze community by hoodlums numbering about 15.

It said the attack was carried out when Okorie resisted the stuffing of an electoral box with over 200 hundred thumb-printed ballot papers by a member of the PDP.

“This led to a violent confrontation between the two political parties loyalists; and the hoodlums who were already stationed close by immediately descended on me.

“They attacked me with all kinds of weapons including machetes, clubs, rods, stones etc. I narrowly escaped being killed in my Toyota Camry car which was smashed and shattered beyond recognition.

“As long as we are concerned the election was fraught with so many irregularities despite the assurances and directives of the state Governor, Chief David Umahi, that all political parties and candidates in the election be given a level playing ground.

“However, we wish to use this medium to call on our teeming supporters in Ivo LGA to sheath their swords and remain calm as we are exploring every avenue within the ambit of the law to ensure justice is done.

“Our legal team has also been mobilised, and appropriate legal actions are being taken to redress the matter,” he said.

According to the statement, Okorie is recuperating from the trauma at an undisclosed hospital outside the state.

In a reaction, Mr Onyekachi Nwebonyi, Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in Ebonyi, described the allegations as baseless and unfounded.

He said, “PDP in the state is a peaceful party and could not have indulged in such act.

“The local government election was free, fair and credible. The candidate in question should re-examine the situation and stop blaming anyone for his failure.”

Why Buhari should reveal his health status – Soyinka

Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, has asked President Muhammadu Buhari, to reveal his health status to Nigerians.

Soyinka said this while speaking to journalists in Lagos on Friday.

The renowned author and public speaker, also stated that the current speculations about the president’s health is, “unnecessary.”

“Why is the president hiding his state of health? He’s supposed to understand he’s public property, me I’m still private property, that’s why I’m not in Aso Rock.

“Once you are in Aso Rock, or you occupy a similar position, you have a responsibility to come out frankly to your citizens.

“Guarding your state of health like Donald Trump is guarding his tax returns is not what we expect from a Nigerian president.

“Let him address the nation and stop all these speculations which creates unnecessary political manipulations among other things,” he said.

Buhari on Friday, failed to attend the Jummat prayer in Aso Villa, after failing to convene the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting for the third consecutive week .

BREAKING: Buhari absent as three governors pray inside Aso Rock

President Muhammadu Buhari was on Friday absent at the Juma’at service held inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The President has been joining Muslim faithful for the prayers inside a mosque near his office since he stopped attending the service at the National Mosque, Abuja.

Three state governors who apparently planned to join Buhari for the prayers were however present.

The governors who attended the prayer session included Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun); Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara); and Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano).

The governors had on Thursday joined their colleagues for a meeting of the National Economic Council at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

No official reason has been given for Buhari’s absence at the prayer session at the time of filing this report.

It will, however, be recalled that the Presidency had on Thursday said as eager as the President wanted to be up and about, his doctors have advised him to take things slowly.

In the statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, the Presidency, however, assured Nigerians that there is no need for apprehension over the state of health of the President.

While saying that the President himself on his return to the country made Nigerians aware of the state of his health while he was in London, Shehu said full recovery is sometimes a slow process, requiring periods of rest and relaxation, as the Minister for Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, intimated in his press briefing after the FEC meeting on Wednesday.

He added, “Despite his lack of visibility, Nigerians should rest assured that President Buhari has not abdicated his role as Commander-in-Chief of Nigeria. He receives daily briefings on the activities of government and confers regularly with his Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo.

“His private residence, in which he has been spending the majority of his time recently, also has a fully equipped office.

“God is the giver of life and health. We are grateful that He has seen our President through the worst period of his convalescence in London.

“We are thankful that the President has passed a number of benchmarks already. We pray that God continues to see him through this period of recuperation.”

Magu reveals how much EFCC has recovered through whistle-blowing policy

The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, on Thursday revealed that the agency has recovered about N17bn through the instrumentality of the whistle blowing policy.

Magu made the disclosure during a paper presentation titled “Before Corruption Kills Nigeria,” at the 62nd Award Night of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, held at the Ladi Kwali Hall, Sheraton Hotels, Abuja.

Presenting the paper on his behalf by Dr A. Bello, the anti-graft agency Czar said, “Apart from several other recoveries running into several billions of naira, the recent whistle-blower policy, has led to the recovery of N521,815,000, $53,272,747, £122,890, and €547,730 by the EFCC.”

He further reiterated the Commission’s commitment to combating corruption, stressing that the battle against corruption can only be won through the help of the media.

“The EFCC is committed to pursuing its statutory mandate and to rescue the Nigerian state and its people from being killed by corruption. We call on the Media and well meaning Nigerians to join us in this crusade. With the government and people of Nigeria behind the EFCC, we shall surely be victorious,” he added

  • Jonathan only called me once for a meeting over Boko Haram —Shettima

Jonathan only called me once for a meeting over Boko Haram —Shettima

Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima,in a book titled, ‘Against the Run of Play,’ written by the Chairman, Editorial Board of ThisDay, Olusegun Adeniyi,  lamented that Jonathan was not committed to the efforts to fight Boko Haram insurgency in the North-East.

Shettima said out of the 13 meetings he had with Jonathan on the Boko Haram terrorism, only one was initiated by the latter.

“All the others were at my seeking appointments to see him and on some occasions, it took several weeks for such requests to be granted. There was a belief around President Jonathan that the whole Boko Haram crisis was orchestrated to undermine him and his administration and because of that, there was no interest in resolving the problem,” he added.

The governor alleged that Jonathan ‘marked’ him for pushing for the meetings and allegedly planned to remove him and the two other governors in the North-East.

Shettima said, “He particularly wanted to remove me….I heard that his Attorney-General and Justice Minister, Mr. Mohammed Adoke, said there was nowhere in the constitution where the President had the power to remove a governor. In fact, I was told that President Jonathan reportedly interjected by asking, ‘How come President Obasanjo removed Governor Joshua Dariye?’ to which he was reminded that the Dariye aberration had been declared illegal by the Supreme Court.”

  • Amaechi Had Problem With My Wife, Not Me- Jonathan

Amaechi Had Problem With My Wife, Not Me- Jonathan

Ex President Goodluck Jonathan has said there is no bone of contention between him and the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaehi.

Rather, Jonathan stated that Amaechi had a problem with his wife, Patience, which he (Jonathan) tried in vain to resolve.

Jonathan disclosed this in a book titled, ‘Against the Run of Play,’ written by the Chairman, Editorial Board of ThisDay, Olusegun Adeniyi.

“Jonathan told me that Amaechi’s problem was not with him but rather with his wife and that, at a point, he tried to reconcile them,” the book stated.

While Amaechi admitted that he was at loggerheads with Patience, he said Jonathan was not saying the whole truth, noting that there were also disagreements between him and Jonathan, during the latter’s era as the President.

The ex-Rivers State governor attributed the cause of his grudge with Jonathan to illegal and excess deduction from the federation account by the former president.

He said, “I could not surrender my mandate to a woman (Patience) in Abuja, even if such a person was the wife of the President…that basically was my sin with Dame Patience Jonathan.

“If in one year, you took about N300bn from the federation account to pay for subsidy and the next year, you are taking almost N2tn for the same thing when fundamentals had not changed, then serious questions should be asked.

“And as NGF (Nigerian Governors Forum) chairman, it was my responsibility to ask those questions and Jonathan took them personal.”
