A Celebrated Lawyer, Prince Olumide Akindiya Shared His Award Nomination on Social Media with Shocking Life Story

I am grateful to God & the organisers of Prestige Excellence Award & Lecture for nominating me as the Recipient of Masses Friendly Legal Practitioner of the Year Award at this year 2019 edition of Prestige Excellence Award & Lecture holding at Lagos Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) Conference & Exhibition Centre, Alausa Ikeja, Lagos on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at 2pm. It was three months after publishing me in their special edition of Prestige Int’l Magazine unawares as legal icons with Chief Mike Ozekhome SAN, Monday Ubani, Esq & Adetunji Adegboyega, Esq former EFCC investigator & legal officer.

I only asked why the special interest from their editorial board, but the response of the publisher further encouraged me, your profile as a youth is an inspiration to others.

All I can say briefly about my life story and in response to these questions from people why are these awards coming in is this:

“At tender age, i was fortunate to exhibit some talents of drawing, writing, poetry and mental argument on any issue and I was a bit brilliant, but not excellently. Despite of that i once had a poor SSCE result that made me begged my father to forego my inheritance in return for my education through a written note and despite his silence, i took it as my self imposed punishment for my poor result. My father even died before my admission to university and in spite of failed promises on my education, i was financed from my father’s little estate with support from outsiders. With much challenge, suffering, patience, battle and disappointment, today, I am still a practising Lawyer. To stress further, with strong determination to maximise all my talents: At 3 years of being a Lawyer, I started offering free legal advice and services to celebrities, up coming artists, journalists, entrepreneurs, etc even when I was not financially buoyant. I even lost my ex fiance because my little resources were channelled towards humanity so she jilted me two days to my first award and my first lecture as a guest speaker. At 4 years of being a Lawyer, I became a law columnist with a Nigerian Newspaper; at 6 years, on invitation I started speaking about law at events and seminars. At 6 years also, I started receiving awards from community, entertainment, NGO, media industry, etc and my first award was from Oshodi CDA where I grew up from and ten awards from 2015 till date. At 9 years of being a lawyer, i became a Notary Public of Nigeria despite delay. Lastly, at 10 years of being a Lawyer, a magazine was published and a book is being written in my honour with great personalities in Nigeria and I have law books with anthology to publish in future.”

The Dangote Cement truck did not cause the tragic accident, which occurred on the Auchi-Okpella-Okene road, near Omega Fire Ministry in Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State, contrary to online reports.

An eyewitness, Audu Omale, who gave a vivid account of the accident, recalled that “a third-party truck loaded with cement was moving in the opposite direction of the Dangote Cement (DCT) CNG truck on a slopy road. The commercial truck driver lost control of his truck due to a suspected brake failure, ran into a moving vehicle, a motorcycle, and eventually crashed into the side of the DCT truck. The DCT CNG truck caught fire in the process.

 

“Consequently, three persons from the vehicle hit by the third-party truck lost their lives, while two persons sustained varying degrees of injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. The DCT truck driver escaped to avoid a mob attack,” Omale clarified.

 

In a related development, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Edo State Police Command, CSP Moses Yamu, confirmed that the accident involved two trucks, one belonging to Dangote Cement, another truck, which has not been identified, and a GLK Mercedes-Benz car.

 

The Edo PPRO noted that all three occupants in the GLK were confirmed dead in the hospital, while the Dangote truck caught ffirewhich was brought under control.

“I can confirm to you that three vehicles were involved in an accident in Auchi at midday: two trucks and one GLK Benz. The police moved to the scene of the accident and evacuated three occupants of the GLK to the hospital, where they were confirmed dead.

 

“Two of the vehicles involved were trucks, one belonging to Dangote Cement and another unidentified one. The Dangote truck caught fire and was brought under control,” Yamu stated. He added that the investigation was ongoing.

At the heart of the Harvest of Miracle Conference (Day 3) held in South Africa, Prophet Joshua Iginla delivered a stirring and spiritually electrifying sermon titled “How to Break Out of Curses.” The prophetic encounter was not just a sermon—it was a divine unveiling of keys to personal liberation from long-standing ancestral, parental, and self-inflicted curses. With biblical precision and revelatory depth, Prophet Iginla laid out spiritual principles to break the chains of bondage and restore destinies.
Below is a deep dive into the central truths he delivered:
1. Apply the Hammer of the Word of God
Key Scripture: Hebrews 4:12; John 1:1-4
Prophet Iginla began by emphasizing the irreplaceable role of God’s Word as a weapon of liberation. Quoting Hebrews 4:12, he described the Word as a living and powerful sword—a divine hammer capable of smashing generational curses into irrelevance. According to him, the Word is not passive; it actively pierces, dissects, and reconstructs destinies.
“The Word of God is God Himself translated into language. You can’t carry the life of God and be subdued by curses,” he declared.
He challenged believers to incubate themselves in the Word until the Word becomes flesh in their lives (John 1:1–4). Whether the curse was deserved or unjust, the Word—if engaged properly—will hammer it into pieces.
Takeaway: To break out of curses, soak your life daily in the Scriptures. Recite it, meditate on it, declare it—let the Word do spiritual surgery.
 2. Engage the Force of Prayer

Prophet Iginla likened prayer to spiritual artillery that disarms curses operating in secrecy or in public. Curses thrive in silence; prayer destroys their breeding ground.
“You can’t pray and remain cursed. A man of prayer is a man of power,” he said.
He reminded the audience of Jesus’ parable on the necessity of continual prayer (Luke 18:1), underscoring that persistent, violent, faith-driven prayer dismantles spiritual verdicts issued against a person’s lineage.
Takeaway: Don’t just pray occasionally—make prayer a lifestyle. Curses retreat when a person dwells in the atmosphere of divine communication.

“Forgiveness is not just for them; it’s your jailbreak,” he warned.

4. Understand and Undo Parental Curses

Moving into deeper waters, Prophet Iginla highlighted that parental curses—especially those spoken by biological or spiritual parents—are some of the most potent and dangerous forms of curses.
“A prophet can pray for you, but if your parent cursed you, go back and make peace,” he admonished.
He addressed children who have turned against their parents due to offenses, urging them to seek reconciliation. According to him, honor unlocks destiny, and dishonor invites spiritual blockage. Even imperfect parents deserve respect—not necessarily because of their actions, but because of their divine position.
Takeaway: Don’t trade your future for the satisfaction of revenge. Reconcile with your parents. That act alone may cancel years of spiritual delay.
Avoid Being a Curse to Yourself
Not all curses come from external forces—some are self-inflicted, Prophet Iginla revealed. People who engage in destructive behaviors, dishonor their spiritual lineage, or handle their lives carelessly often curse themselves unknowingly.
 “When you disconnect from those assigned to help your destiny, you plug into frustration,” he stated.
He warned spiritual sons and daughters to never dishonor their spiritual covering, as doing so cuts them off from prophetic blessings. Likewise, believers who self-sabotage through sin, fear, and laziness must repent and align themselves with divine purpose.
Takeaway: Examine yourself. Are you living in a way that invites curses? Shift today.
As he concluded, Prophet Joshua Iginla released a thunderous prayer:
 “I break to pieces every chain of curses released to tie and frustrate your destiny. Any blanket of curses covering your future is removed. In Jesus’ mighty name!”
The atmosphere was charged, and many in the auditorium experienced instant breakthroughs, with testimonies of curses being broken and destinies realigned.
Final Thoughts
Curses are real, but they are not permanent. In this powerful session, Prophet Joshua Iginla made it clear: You don’t break curses through emotion or logic—you break them through divine strategy. Engage the Word, persist in prayer, walk in forgiveness, honor your roots, and live wisely.
The chains will break. The curse will be reversed. And your life will reflect the blessing of the Lord that makes rich and adds no sorrow.
