Faleke Pledges Allegiance To Tinubu, Warns Mischief Makers

Published

on

The lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke has condemned in strong terms, a malicious publication currently circulating on some news blogs and social media platforms.

The false publication alleges that Hon. Faleke  had insulted the personality of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National, Leader Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and some respected party leaders and elders.

Among several other falsehoods, the grossly misleading publication which was featured on the online version of Daily Independent of June 23, 2021 and some other remote blogs, alleged that Hon. Abiodun Faleke accused the leaders of the party of “fighting only for their relatives”,

But in a swift reaction to the publication, Hon. Faleke has denied ever making any statement insulting the highly revered Jagaban of Africa or any respected leader within and outside the party’s Governor’s Advisory Council in Lagos state.

It is in fact suspected that the publication was orchestrated and sponsored by mischief makers and enemies of true democracy within the Ojodu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) political circuit, who recently truncated the will of the people and benefitted from what they did not deserve.

A statement from the Media Unit of the high soaring Federal Lawmaker, Rt. Hon. Faleke described Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as “My Father and mentor in whom I am well pleased and satisfied. I Abiodun James Faleke can never and will never pass insult to Asiwaju for any reason. I was together with him throughout yesterday and Asiwaju himself knows what I can do and what I cannot not do”

The statement further warns rabble-rousers and political jobbers in Ojodu and environs not to allow some “fluke, unmerited victory” to intoxicate them to the point of fabricating imaginary lies, intentionally calculated to create frictions in the cordial Father-Son relationship existing between Hon. Faleke and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

While advising Media Practitioners to avoid being used as a cheap pawn in the hands of evil-minded politicians, Hon, Faleke thanked all his leaders followers and supporters for their steadfastness and faith, even in the face of what looks like an unexpected outcome.

Meanwhile, Rt. Hon. Faleke has demanded an immediate retraction of the misleading story and a written apology from Daily Independent, to be published within 72 hours both in the Print and online Version of the Newspaper, failing which a Libel Lawsuit to the tune of N5 Billion Naira will be slammed on the Newspaper and its promoters.

Below is the full text of the Statement from Hon. Faleke’s Media unit.

Our attention has been drawn to a watery but malicious publication currently doing the rounds in the public space about how our indefatigable leader, Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke (MHR, IKEJA FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY) purportedly insulted our National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other notable APC leaders in Lagos State.
The story is completely untrue, malicious and mischievous in all ramifications.

Rt. Hon. Abiodun James Faleke dissociates himself from it and condemns it in the strongest term possible. The silly story was apparently concocted to defame and damage the integrity, character and personality of Rt. Hon. Faleke, but the perpetrators have failed woefully once again.

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a father to Hon. Faleke, he holds him in very high esteem and has never done or said anything to malign the image of the respected National Leader.

Of course, we know where all these fabricated news are coming from and we know why it is coming from them at this time.

We would not have dignified them with a response if not for the unsuspecting public who might be deceived by their rascaly falsehood.

Hon. Faleke has utmost respect for both party elders and members, most especially the top-ranking members of the Governors Advisory Committee (GAC) in Lagos. Hon. Faleke will never do or say anything that disrespect the top members of this body of elders whose contributions and commitments have taken Lagos State to greater heights.

Rt. Hon. Faleke totally condemns this grossly biased and unprofessional publication in very strong terms and demands Daily Independent Newspaper to retract the disgraceful story and tender a written apology within 72 hours. Failure to do this will result in court actions anchored on Libel to the tune of N5Billion.

Going forward, we want to warn all mischief makers and story planters to desist from trying to sow political seeds of discord in the father-son relationship existing between Hon. Faleke and our highly revered leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who will be emerge as Nigeria’s President come 2023 by God’s Grace.

Hon. Faleke will always respect, adore and honor Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who is his father and whose help and support has seen him to greater heights politically and in other areas of life. Also as a thorough-bred Yoruba man, Hon. Faleke will never deride or cast aspersions on any leader of the party for whatever reason because he believes in their leadership capacity and party supremacy.

Breaking: Speaker Obasa Debunks Allegation Of Spending N17b On Assembly Gate

The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, on Thursday described the allegation that the House spent N17 billion on the fixing of a gate as spurious and funny.

Breaking: Speaker Obasa Debunks Allegation Of Spending N17b On Assembly Gate

A self-proclaimed group, Lagos State Anti-Corruption Coalition, had accused the Assembly of spending the amount to construct a gate. The group also sought investigation of the claim.

Speaking at plenary, Dr. Obasa said the allegation stemmed from the fear of some people over 2027 which is still more than two years away.

Obasa further debunked the claim that the House spent N200 million on its recently organised 22nd thanksgiving service for staff.

“It is so funny. How much is the allocation of the Assembly in the whole year that we will decide to spend N17 billion on a gate? They even claimed that we expended 200 million on thanksgiving that did not hold.

“We are aware that at a period like this when we are approaching elections in 2027, we should expect such things. I think some people are scared and I don’t know why.

“This House did not and has not embarked on any such project. We are not that reckless. We had our thanksgiving last Friday and dignitaries from various parts of the State attended it,” the Speaker said.

Addressing further claims by the group about the alleged relationship between him and the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, the Speaker denied attending the latter’s screening and confirmation by the National Assembly.

“They said that I was at the National Assembly when they were confirming the EFCC chairman. I want to believe that there are CCTV cameras at the National Assembly to identify those who attended the event. The press must have written about it too. So the group should do more to confirm if I was there.

“This is just to deny the allegations in the interest of the public and not the writers because the writers are not those we should be joining words with,” the Speaker said.

Earlier, the House, through its spokesperson, Hon. Stephen Ogundipe, had addressed the allegations noting that the Assembly bases its activities on integrity, transparency and accountability.

“It is ludicrous the claim about constituency intervention funds and constituency project funds and their handling by Speaker Mudashiru Obasa and Clerk of the House, Barr. Olalekan Onafeko as claimed by the group.

“One would have expected a self-acclaimed anti-corruption crusading group to do its groundwork before jumping across the fence with conviction that it hit a jackpot to malign an institution of repute in the name of politics.

“Simply put, the Lagos State House of Assembly does not have any such funds. The Assembly does not embark on constituency projects. Instead, once every year, the House holds stakeholders’ meetings simultaneously across the state where constituents have the opportunity to tell the lawmakers their expectations and make requests for the betterment of the state.

“These requests and expectations are compiled and sent to the executive arm of government for consideration as inputs in subsequent budgets. If this is what the group takes as constituency intervention or project funds, we are sure this explanation has given the required education, moreover, it is common knowledge that it is the responsibility of the Executive arm to execute such projects,” the earlier statement by Ogundipe read.
