‘Gbege’ In Lagos! ‘Aki and Pawpaw’, Tade Ogidan, Zeb Ejiro, Ini Edo, Nosa Rex, Mercy Aigbe, Inojie, Others Storm Lagos Pre-Release Movie Screening

The Lagos City Mall, Onikan, Lagos, was agog yesterday, 28th of September, 2022, at the Lagos special pre-release screening of arguably the biggest film ever made from South-South Nigeria, Gbege ‘THE OMODION SAGA’.

“The movie’s hype lived up to its expectation. I know Mr. Lancelot DGuv’nor himself, he’s not a learner in this industry. He’s a legend. His works are legendary. Gbege is a movie that I will encourage all lovers of good movies, those who want to learn one thing or the other about other tribe’s culture to go and watch.” These were the words of popular Nollywood actor, Chinedu Ikedieze aka Aki.

Aki was one of the arrays of stars that graced the Lagos special pre-release screening of Gbege ‘The Omodion Saga’. Aside this talented actor, Nollywood legends like Tade Ogidan, Zeb Ejiro, President The Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN), Victor Okhai, Ini Edo, Osita Iheme, Charles Inojie, Nosa Rex, Mercy Aigbe, Yetunde Barnabas, popularly known as “Miss Pepeye” in the TV comedy series ‘Papa Ajasco’, Grace Osaretin and a host of other ‘A list’ actors also graced the event.

The star studded movie that featured many movie greats like; Sam Dede, Jide Kosoko, Ini Edo, Nosa Rex, Zubby Michael, Mercy Aigbe, Charles  Inojie, Harry B, Junior Pope, Ebele Okaro, Sanni Muazu, Brother Shaggi and some of the best actors across the Nation, had movie screeners and enthusiast glued to their seats as the plots evolved.

Reacting, Charles Inojie, one of the cast of the movie said, “I don’t think people should be surprised about another blockbuster ‘Gbege’ from Lancelot Imasuen. Looking at his journey in Nollywood, one can simply say he is a legend. Gbege is a movie for ages.”

Actor Nosa Rex also shared the same sentiment saying; “I’m happy. Featuring in ‘Gbege’ for me is another great milestone. Gbege is blockbuster and a movie for generations.”

 

 

 

Co-Executive Producer, Gbege ‘The Omodion Saga’ Ojo Hopkins Osahon, said; ” Gbege is the best movie from the South-South and in Nigeria right now. I will enjoin everyone to go grab a ticket or a cinema pass as the case may be to go watch Gbege. The movie is a great one from the stable of D Guv’nor and its definitely something the world haven’t seen before, its based on African tradition. Mostly the Benin tribe. It’s another way of promoting the African culture and bringing African tradition to a focus. Gbege is trending, I will advise everyone to go and see the movie.”

Produced and directed by Africa’s most consistent Filmmaker, Ambassador Okpioba Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen and Hopkins Global Network, a company headed by young and vibrant Hopkins Osahon, the movie ‘Gbege’ The Omorodion Saga was shot at various locations in Benin city.

 

 

 

Just after the Lagos State pre- release screening of Gbege ‘THE OMODION SAGA’, River State pre-release screening will follow on Saturday 1st of October, 2022 to honor Legendary actor, Sam Dede and the Benin City premiere will be on Thursday, the 6th of October, 2022, while the nationwide cinema release of the movie will be on Friday the 7th of October 2022.

The multi-million naira movie will be distributed across the nation by KADA Film Entertainment.

Mustapha Ololade Sholagbade, born on January 1, 1989, in Ebute Metta, Lagos, is an accomplished Nigerian actor, producer, and filmmaker with a deep passion for Yoruba cinema. Originally from Abeokuta, Ogun State, he is the first child in his family. Sholagbade began his education at Kadara Primary School and continued at Sojomen Talabi High School, Akute, and Nawairudeen Secondary School, Ebute Metta. He later earned an Ordinary Narional Diploma in Business Administration from the Lagos State Polytechnic. Pursuing his passion for acting, he trained at Odunfa Caucus, where he graduated in 2010.

Sholagbade launched his acting career in 2005, making a name for himself in Yoruba-language films. His portfolio includes roles in popular films like Olowo Ghetto, Alaimo, Ebun Mi, Esi, Gold and Treasure, Liam, Emilomo Babaolowo, Oko Aunty Mi, Broken Bond (Tude), and Last Born. In addition to acting, he has also produced several films, further cementing his influence in the industry.

Beyond the entertainment world, Sholagbade is a versatile professional with experience in railway engineering, IT support, and site management in the UK. He is also a farmer and general merchant, demonstrating his entrepreneurial spirit and diverse skill set.

Throughout his career, Sholagbade has collaborated with top figures in Yoruba cinema, such as Yinka Quadri, Taiwo “Ogogo” Hassan, Funke Akindele, Femi Adebayo, Odun Adekola, Oga Bello, Baba Wande, Jide Kosoko, Funsho Adeolu, Fathia William Balogun, Saidi Balogun, Wunmi Toriola, and Mide Martins.

Sholagbade’s hobbies include traveling, business, football, filmmaking, and meeting new people, reflecting his dynamic and outgoing personality.

Sholagbade’s talent and dedication to his craft have earned him numerous accolades, including: Best Actor Yoruba – BON Awards, 2024, Best Supporting Actor– Afro Nollywood Awards, UK, 2019, Best Supporting Actor– Heritage Awards, Atlanta, USA, Best Supporting Actor of the Year (Yoruba) – City People Movie Awards, Best New Actor of the Year (Yoruba) – City People Movie Awards.

Mississauga-Centre Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP), Natalia Kusendova-Bashta, has extended her heartfelt congratulations to Nollywood actress Omolara Kasali Dada, who received a Special Recognition Award at the 7th edition of the Nigerian Canadian Celebrities Entertainment Awards.
