Give out 10% of my proceeds to the widows- Princess Adunni Adetona

A non governmental organization, Happy Moment For Widows and Children Foundation (HMWCF) has put smiles in the faces of no fewer than 100 widows in Ikeja Lagos as they donated items.
The founder and the president of the organization, Princess Adunni Adetona presented the items to the widows at 0shifila street Anifowoshe area of Lagos State.
In an interview with journalists, princess Adunni said she established the foundation in 2011 after she lost her husband during one of the plane crashes that occurred in the country.
According to her, as a single mother she understands the plight widows are facing across the country. Hence, to alleviate their suffering she decided to come up with the idea of the foundation as a platform to help the scores of widow across the country especially Lagos State where she resides.
“As a widow I felt the pain to be a single mother and now I have the opportunity to help and use it as a way to give back to the society. ” In Lagos State alone I have no fewer than 5,000 widows who are benefiting from this foundation “.The founder said,majority of the widows are hawkers in the major market in the state.
Princess told journalists that a major challenge the widows are currently facing is the issue of accommodation and now her foundation has a land and will need assistance from big organisations like Dangote group and state government to develop the site with the aim to give out accommodation to the widows and reduce the pain they are passing through as a result of no accommodation .
The foundation leader said she usually visit the widows in different locations across the state to discuss with them and share word of God together to encourage them.
She noted that the programme is to donate to the widows and children which usually comes up five times every year.
The foundation therefore is seeking assistance from the state government, and cooperate organisation operating in the state to give assistance to the foundation to enable them meet up with the desire to alleviate the plight of teeming widows in the state.
She thank members of Ikeja country club especially the president and other members for the supporting the foundation to help the widows.
She use the event to advise the widows to always help their fellow human being as doing that is what the almighty God bless wants.
The widows were happy at the event after receiving the gift from the foundation. It could be recalled that at most time Princess Adunni had donated cash to some in the past as a way to put smile in their faces and also giving back to the society.
It is on record that Princess Adunni always give out 10% of her proceed to the widows. “when you are alive let your legacy speak for you “. There is non like christ,i decide to give the ten percent to widow because religion has fail,i stop going to church due to the experience I had after my husband died. The so called religion body I believe would have assisted me,want to sleep with me, it is wrong for a Christian or Muslim to do such even as I was still with the mourning cloth, the clergymen were after the ten percent not the welfare of the congregation,said she.
One of the widow who spoke to journalists Mrs Mojisola Ajinoba said she lost her husband twelve years ago and she met princess Adunni her life changed. Mojisola who is 59 years old thank God for the founder and the organization for coming to their aid of widows.
Mrs Aina Akinreti, another beneficiary said princess Adunni has made my family happy through financial and material since over seven years my husband died. I am calling on federal and state government as well as well meaning Nigerians to support the founder who is also a widow.

Eminent personalities across the Nigeria stormed the TFK Event Centre, Bala Mohammed Way, Guzape, Abuja, to celebrate the 60th birthday of Olowu Kuta’s Olori, Queen Jumai Amoke and her Foundation Launch on Saturday 28, March 2026.
From former Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen TY Buratai rtd, to the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Prince Lateef Fagbemi; Olofa of Offa, HRM Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi. Even top businesswoman and socialite, Chief (Mrs) Bola Shagaya, was in attendance.

Speaking at the occasion, the Chief Host, Olowu of Kuta, HRM Oba Dr Adekunle Oyelude Makama, CON , Tegbosun iii, who is also the husband of the celebrant commended Queen Jumai for ‘ her slender arms full of kindness’ to establish such humanitarian Foundation, ‘Amoke Children and mother in Need Foundation’ at a time Nigerians are going through economic crisis occassioned by the global meltdown.
Olowu also commended her steadfastness and love for the less privileged and downtrodden.
The monarch refrenced the task before his wife’s humanitarian gesture said her best is yet to come.
” Olori Amoke Jumai, I celebrate you. You will celebrate 70, 80, 90 and continue to shine as you continue to put a smile on people’s faces. I love you, “Olowu Kuta added.
To Lt Gen Buratai, a former army chief and former Nigerian Ambassador to Benin Republic, the reward of hard work is more work.
Buratai, who also doubles as Balogun Agba of Owu Kuta, a chieftaincy title reserved for a generalismo congratulated Queen Jumai for attaining the age of 60 in good health.
The retired army General said he’s not surprised by the turn out of eminent personalities across the country to celebrate the Olowu Kuta’s Olori because she merited it through her hospitality to all, adding that Allah the most merciful, most beneficial would accept all her act of ibadah.
The minister of Justice, Prince Fagbemi, was full of praises for Queen Jumai for deeming it fit to have a place in her heart to accommodate the needy and less privileged in ‘our society.’
Prince Fagbemi urged the guests to contribute generously to support the Foundation in order to continue to alleviate poverty and put a smile on the faces of the people.
” I congratulate you on your 60th birthday and Foundation Launch. I wish you many happy returns of the day and many more fruitful services to the country and motherland”, Prince Fagbemi added.
The celebrant, Queen Jumai who was grining from ear to ear thankfully said she was excited by the turn out and the response of the people to her foundation.
Queen Jumai, however, promised to continue to use her resources and donations received for the good of the needy and less privileged in the society.
” I want to appreciate my own Kabiesi Olofa of Offa , for his presence and im I’m using him as a point of contact to all other Kabiesis present here, the minister of justice and Attorney-General, you’re welcome, sir; Mrs Bola Shagaya, I salute your enterprise, Lt Gen Buratai, I’m grateful, sir; DIG Fayoade, Justice Falola and other dignitaries too numerous to mention, I thank you, all. To my darling husband, Kabiesi Olowu , I thank you immensely for your support. And to my family and friends, I thank you , all. E se pupo!”, she said.
