*ABEOKUTA* – An African Democratic Congress, ADC gubernatorial aspirant in Ogun state, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka has bemoaned the total neglect of local communities and rural towns across the state.
The two time governorship candidate in previous elections made the comment at the ongoing consultation and sensitization meetings of the ADC at Obafemi Owode/Odeda/Abeokuta North Federal Constituency.
The Chairman of the party in Odeda Local government, Saula Makinde welcomed party faithfuls, dignitaries and the general public to the various town square meetings that had in attendance, ADC Executives, CDAs, Council of Baales, Artisans groups, community leaders. He said the event was created to endear the party to the masses as the credible alternative that will rescue the people from the APC.
Speaking on behalf of the Baales-in-Council and various groups, Chief Adedapo Ajala From Olodo lamented the plight of the communities citing lack of amenities such as good internal roads, water, electricity and health facilities. The Chairman of CDAs in Obantoko zone urged the ADC gubernatorial hopeful to give attention to the Asero-Obantoko road saying it is not only bad but wasting human hours.
In his response, Isiaka bemoaned the challenges of the people noting that welfare of masses should be the priority of any responsible government.
“I have seen the challenges you all have talked about. The roads I passed are quite bad and all these area are lacking in basic infrastructure. I think it is the same story across all the local communities of the state”.
Continuing, “Really, the State government has a lot to do, but if we had functioning local governments they would have attended to the issues. Nonetheless, I believe the next administration will amend these errors and make life more abundant for all “.
Isiaka was accompanied by his wife, Toyin, Elder Joju Fadairo, Aare Tunde Alabi, Chief Pegba Otemolu, Hon Johnson Fatoki, Olotu Dipo Sofowora among several party chieftains.
