Jubilation in Sokoto as Bandits’ Nemesis Matawalle Arrives to Encourage Troops on War

Sokoto residents erupted in jubilation on Wednesday as Bello Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defence, arrived in the state to rally troops in the fight against banditry.

Matawalle’s visit is part of the federal government’s efforts to restore peace and security in the North West Zone, which has been plagued by banditry.

“I’m thrilled to see Matawalle here,” said Usman Usman, a local resident. “He’s a beacon of hope for us, and his presence gives us confidence that the government is committed to ending this menace.”

Matawalle’s reputation as a bandits’ nemesis has preceded him, with many residents praising his efforts to tackle insecurity in the region.

“Matawalle is a tested, trusted, and reliable leader,” said Umar Ibrahim, a Sokoto resident. “We believe in him, and we know he’ll do everything possible to protect us.”

Notably, Matawalle’s last visit to the northwest led to the death of notorious bandit kingpin Halilu Sububu. This significant breakthrough is a testament to the Minister’s commitment to eradicating banditry.

According to Shehu Mohammed, “President Tinubu and Matawalle’s collaborative efforts have yielded notable successes.

“With Matawalle here, we feel safer, and we know that help is on the way.”

Meanwhile in a statement on Tuesday by Henshaw Ogubike, director of information and public relations at the ministry, Matawalle said his arrival in the state spells doom for bandits and their supporters.

“As directed by Mr. President, I am back to Sokoto state to assure the people of this great region of our commitment to achieving all necessary yardsticks in the fight against insecurity,” he said.

“We will never leave you alone. I assure you, we will win this war against bandits and those supporting them to unleash terror against our people.

“We must collaborate with all stakeholders in this region to achieve our target. The federal government will continue to boost the morale of our soldiers and security agencies in this fight.”

The minister expressed his confidence in the ongoing military operation in the northwest zone.

“I am optimistic that our gallant troops will continue to record successes through Operation Fansan Yamma as we intensify our fight against these criminals,” he said.

Matawalle vowed to “relentlessly” fight bandits and their supporters, adding that the Tinubu administration will continue to prioritise the protection of lives and property.

Obuama, Rivers State – A youth leader in Obuama has raised concerns over mysterious unmarked helicopter flying over the home of Alhaji Mujahid Abubakr Dokubo-Asari, Alabo Edi-Abali of Kalabari Kingdom.

On Saturday, during Local Government elections, two unmarked helicopters with armed men flew low over Obuama and Dokubo-Asari’s residence. Another helicopter appeared today.

Alhaji Mujahid Abubakr Dokubo-Asari, a prominent figure in Nigeria’s Niger Delta region, has been a longstanding advocate for resource control and minority rights. As the leader of the Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Force (NDPVF), he has fought tirelessly for the rights of the Ijaw people and other marginalized communities. He is also a close abd long standing friend of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Residents, including the elderly, are uneasy as the town is typically peaceful and hosts an army formation. The unknown affiliation and mission of the helicopters have sparked anxiety.

Oba Adewale Shotobi, Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Receives Ikorodu Liberty 2024 Team’s Official Visit

…Promised to attend the gathering
~By Oluwaseun Fabiyi

On Wednesday 9th October 2024 the NCC Liberty Team paid a courtesy visit to the Ayangburen of Ikoroduland’s palace, recognizing Oba Adewale Shotobi’s sovereignty and seeking his blessings, thereby honoring the time-honored Yoruba tradition of showing respect to deserving individuals

This visit strengthens ties between Nigerians and community leaders, inspiring Christian religious leaders and Nigerians to advocate for unity and social cohesion nationwide

Given New Covenant Church worldwide’s decision to host the Liberty crusades program in Ikorodu, the courtesy visit’s importance cannot be overstated

Ahead of Liberty International’s 25th Anniversary celebrations, a dignified delegation paid a courtesy visit to the Oba, presenting particulars of the planned Liberty programme, which was met with keen enthusiasm.

Oba Shotobi reflected on his personal journey, combining his Muslim upbringing with a Methodist primary school education. He displayed a deep commitment to the Lord and His mission, selecting the Methodist Church for his thanksgiving service. Additionally, he shared experiences partnering with RCCG, Deeper Christian Life, and KICC ministries in Ikorodu for outreach initiatives.

He attentively awaited the Liberty team’s presentation, where they outlined strategic plans for Ikorodu’s development, and expressed satisfaction that the program had reached Ikorodu following 25 years of engagement in locations such as Badagry and Epe.

Following the team’s presentation, the Ayangburen confirmed his attendance and committed to boosting NCC Liberty’s promotional initiatives to ensure strong event attendance.

He will facilitate direct communication with Ikorodu General Hospital to support Liberty’s medical requirements. He requested the team to remain patient regarding their land allocation request.

Honestly, the palace visit by the Liberty team reveals prior divine intervention on their behalf

Their conviction holds that the Lord personally initiated and sustains the Liberty programme, guiding its preparation and unfolding experience. This conviction should hearten and motivate us, recognizing that our collective efforts are ultimately in service to the Lord Jesus Christ, who actively works within and through us.

community ruler’s backing and approval are essential for hosting a five-day Christian spiritual empowerment program in the Ikorodu area

New Covenant Church worldwide’s 2024 Liberty program is set to hold at Ikorodu Town Hall, Olubi Street off Ayangburen Road, commencing on October 30 and concluding on November 3, 2024.

The Liberty program’s annual event features a diverse range of activities, including crusades, medical aid, empowerment initiatives, salvation services, healings, deliverance, complimentary reading glasses, financial empowerment, youth rallies, and uplifting worship, among others.

The Ikorodu Liberty initiative promises to have a profound impact, benefiting all residents of Ikorodu while liberating the community and its environs from deep-seated ancestral spirits that have hindered growth and development in the area

The write up is good. I have edited the last paragraph as follows:

In attendance at the palace courtesy visit were distinguished leaders, including National Overseer Revd Abimbola Oladipo and Revd Mrs Oladipo, Revd Olawale Omisade (RTD), Revd Olubunmi Ijiehin, Lagos’ Deputy Conference Pastor / Pastor of Isolo centre, Rev Dolapo Agunbiade of NCC Ikorodu Center, and Pastor David Abraham (RTD).
