Speaking at a press briefing on Monday at the Command Headquarters in Ikeja, Jimoh credited the success to the operational support of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who provided cutting-edge security tools to the command.
“The preventive measures we have adopted have helped us crack down on criminal elements. Lagosians can now go about their daily activities without fear and sleep with both eyes closed,” Jimoh said.
He highlighted the achievements of the command’s tactical squads, the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), divisional units, and area commands, noting that crime in Lagos is “under control.”
According to him, the command recovered four stolen vehicles, 17 assorted firearms, and dismantled a ₦500 million visa fraud syndicate.
“In total, 68 suspects were arrested for offences ranging from armed robbery, murder, cultism, and unlawful possession of firearms to vehicle theft, impersonation, and advanced fee fraud,” he said.
The recovered firearms included locally made pistols, English revolvers, Beretta pistols, charms, jackknives, and high-calibre rifles such as AK-47 and AK-49.
Recovered vehicles included a Toyota Camry, a Mercedes-Benz E350, a Lexus hybrid SUV, and a Suzuki minibus linked to “one-chance” robbery gangs. Electronics such as over 20 mobile phones, six laptops, and other incriminating items were also seized.
Jimoh explained that two of the vehicles — a Lexus SUV valued at over ₦75 million and the Mercedes-Benz E350 — were stolen in separate high-profile robberies. While the Lexus was intercepted before being smuggled into Lagos without valid papers, the Mercedes was returned to its rightful owner.
The Camry, he said, was snatched by an ex-convict, 26-year-old Bello Aminu, who had recently been released from prison but returned to armed robbery.
Two “one-chance” robbery gangs were intercepted during surveillance operations in Surulere and near the National Stadium. The gangs used commercial vehicles to pick unsuspecting passengers, rob them at knifepoint, drain their bank accounts, and abandon them. In one case, a female accomplice posed as a regular passenger to lure victims.
Tactical teams also arrested armed robbers who abducted a 16-year-old boy, extorted ₦2 million from him, and stole his phone before abandoning him. The victim was rescued at Tom Naira Bridge, and four suspects — Joe Francis (23), Okoye Favour (22), Hosea Joshua (26), and David Alade (26) — were arrested.
Another gang posing as security operatives was caught hijacking fuel tankers in transit. Dressed in military-style fatigues, the group targeted petroleum products for illegal siphoning and resale. The suspects, aged 42 to 52, have been linked to several hijackings.
In another operation, police dismantled an education consultancy fraud ring that allegedly swindled over 100 victims of ₦500 million, promising Canadian and Australian work visas. Suspects identified as Blessing Wesufo (27), Chinyere Christian (36), Achibong Udeme (23), and Maureen Peter (25) are in custody, while more accomplices are being tracked.
Reviewing the July 12 Lagos State local government elections, Jimoh described the polls as peaceful, incident-free, and a “model for electoral security.” No deaths or injuries were recorded, and no political activities were disrupted, thanks to the early deployment of over 10,000 additional police personnel supported by special units, including the Police Mobile Force, Counter-Terrorism Unit, and Special Protection Unit.
Jimoh praised Lagos residents for providing timely intelligence that led to several arrests, urging them to continue their cooperation.
“Our response time to crime has been reduced to around five minutes in most cases. We will not relent until Lagos is safe for every resident, visitor, and investor,” he assured.
He ended with a stern warning to criminals: “The long arm of the law will always catch up with you,” citing the recent arraignment of Wasiu Akinwande, a suspected serial killer and armed robber facing multiple murder charges.

Police Day 2026: IGP Disu Leads Nationwide Walkathon To Strengthen Community Trust

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, on Tuesday led the management team, alongside officers and personnel of the Nigeria Police Force, in a nationwide walkathon to commemorate the 2026 National Police Day.

The event, held across state capitals and the Federal Capital Territory, formed part of activities marking Day Two of the annual celebration, themed “Community Partnership: Building Trust.”

The symbolic exercise, which drew participation from both police personnel and members of the public, was aimed at showcasing unity, discipline, and a renewed commitment to community policing and public safety.

According to the Force leadership, the walkathon underscores the Nigeria Police Force’s resolve to strengthen public trust, deepen engagement with citizens, and enhance collaboration in tackling security challenges across the country.

Participants described the initiative as a practical step toward bridging the gap between law enforcement and the communities they serve, while also promoting physical fitness and mental well-being among officers and civilians alike.

With the theme reflecting a shared responsibility for safety, the Police reiterated that sustainable security can only be achieved through active partnership with the public.

Dr. Chris Okafor invokes divine retribution upon individuals blackmailing the Grace Nation church

… Affirming God’s omnipotence to unveil malicious schemes.

To be frank, the ability of Doris Ogala and her associates to withstand the arduous challenges set by Senior Pastor Dr. Chris Okafor of Grace Nation Global at the culmination of the Harvest of Babies 2026 conference, the church’s flagship event, continues to elude me.

It’s advisable not to offend a powerful spiritual leader like Prophet Chris Okafor to avoid potential consequences, as seen in the situation with Doris Ogala, who was rebuked by the prophet; can she rectify the situation through confession?

Insiders close to the man of God claim that despite relentless online bullying and blackmailing, the Generational Prophet remains resolute, stating that God’s power has been evident throughout the commission’s existence. The reason for this wonderful statement is found in the scriptures, “Upon this rock I shall build my Church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail.” The more falsehoods are spread about the church and its leader, the more God elevates the church and propels him to greater heights, he asserted. He emphasized that blessings and fruitfulness are antidotes to curses, noting that God continues to bestow blessings upon the church, including miracles and the gift of children, which is one reason for the grand finale of the annual family liberation program, The Harvest of Babies.

However, the man of God issued a curse on each person speaking ill of the church, blackmailing, and uttering all sorts of falsehoods against the church, declaring that if they refused to repent within a few days, the earth would swallow them and their family members, stating that they would be of no use to themselves, their families, or society at large.

The spiritual leader cautions his followers to beware of such individuals including Doris Ogala who may taint their faith, and urges them to treat these persons as emissaries of the devil, avoiding them altogether.

Recall that the 2026 harvest of babies concluded with a remarkable birth of a miracle baby boy to a woman on the third day of the conference, accompanied by the dedication of several other miracle babies, all to the glory of God.
