PAF Congratulates President Tinubu On Judicial Victory, Urges Nigerians to Support The President To Achieve A Better Nigeria

The Patriotism Awareness Forum (PAF) has sent a message of congratulations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his well-deserved victory at the Presidential Elections Petition Tribunal and states that the victory is not only for President Bola Tinubu but for every Nigerian that stands for truth, justice and fair play.
The group urged Nigerians to rally round President Tinubu in his grounded vision to achieve a better Nigeria for the collective benefit of us all.
In a release issued in Lagos on 7th of September 2023 and co-signed by the Convener, Nelson Ekujumi and Co-Convener, Peter Claver Oparah, the group said the emphatic and unanimous judgement of the presidential election petition tribunal that affirmed the electoral victory of President Tinubu in the last successful and credible presidential election, is a testament to the fact that Nigerians made an incontrovertible choice in the face of deliberate manipulative efforts to distort and obfuscate that electoral choice. It saluted the courage of the judiciary which had to weather unprecedented crude and barbaric blackmail and intimidation to deliver a faultless judgment that affirmed the clear electoral choices of Nigerians.

According to PAF, “We are elated by the judicial victory of President Asiwaju, which emphatically affirms the clear democratic choice of Nigerians on February 25, 2023. We savour the sweetness of the judicial victory of the President, which was delivered in immaculate candour and intellectual thoroughness by the judiciary despite primitive intimidation and blackmail by those who have refused to accept electoral defeat.
“We see the victory of President Tinubu as yet another re-affirmation of the trust and confidence Nigerians reposed in his capacity and capability to burth a prosperous, secure and assured future for all Nigerians. We urge him to remain steadfast in his patriotic commitment to lead Nigeria to economic, social and political glory, as we are certain that the bold and courageous decisions he has made so far, will lead Nigeria to that glory.
“PAF congratulates the judiciary for rising above intimidation, deliberate blackmail, threats and primitive bullying to deliver such an unimpeachable judgment. We salute the tenacity, courage and depth exhibited by the judges and their determination to stick to the truth despite all odds and deliver a historic judgment free from bias and prejudice.
PAF also congratulated INEC for conducting the 2023 presidential election in substantial compliance with the provisions of the electoral Act 2022 as amended, which has been affirmed by the court and urged it to remain focused and committed to it’s statutory functions at all times notwithstanding orchestrated campaigns of blackmail and calumny from expected quarters.
“We urge every Nigerian to discard partisan interests and rally round President Tinubu in his arduous task of turning the economic fortunes of Nigeria around. We believe that every Nigerian, irrespective of tribal, religious and political leaning, owes this country a debt of supporting the Tinubu government to secure a better and more prosperous country for each and every Nigerian.
We believe the tribunal judgment should sound a death knell to divisive politicking and rekindle in every Nigerian, the patriotic urge to unite for the good of country by supporting President Tinubu’s government to succeed.”
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Oleksandr Usyk Defeats Tyson Fury Again, Solidifies Legacy Among Boxing Greats

Ukrainian boxing sensation Oleksandr Usyk retained his heavyweight championship titles and cemented his place in boxing history with a unanimous decision victory over Britain’s Tyson Fury in their rematch on Saturday night.

The judges scored the bout 116-112 in Usyk’s favor across the board, marking his second consecutive win over Fury. This victory extended Usyk’s flawless professional record to 23-0, with 14 knockouts, adding another chapter to a career already highlighted by Olympic gold and an undisputed cruiserweight championship.

A Masterclass Performance

Usyk, 37, showcased his signature precision and relentless pace, repeatedly catching Fury with clean left hooks and dominating the latter stages of the fight. Fury, at 6ft 9in (206cm) and weighing a career-high 281 pounds, attempted to impose his physicality but was unable to break Usyk’s composure.

The fight, held in Saudi Arabia, saw Usyk wearing traditional Cossack attire during his entrance, while Fury entered the arena dressed in a festive Santa-inspired robe to Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You.”

The early rounds were competitive, with Fury landing powerful jabs and body shots. However, Usyk’s endurance and tactical brilliance began to shine in the middle rounds. The Ukrainian landed sharp combinations and dictated the tempo, including a stunning uppercut in the final round that left little doubt about the outcome.

“I thought I’ve won both fights,” Fury said post-match, sporting a bruised right eye. “But I’ll always believe until the day I die that I won that fight.”

A Legacy Sealed

Usyk’s victory solidified his standing as one of the greatest heavyweights in history. Already the first undisputed heavyweight of the four-belt era, Usyk joins the ranks of legends like Muhammad Ali, Joe Louis, and Mike Tyson.

The bout, reported to have a prize purse of $190 million, also underscored Saudi Arabia’s growing influence in global sports. Usyk, who served briefly as a soldier during Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, celebrated his victory by hoisting a symbolic sabre belonging to Ukrainian nationalist hero Ivan Mazepa.

Fury’s Uncertain Future

The defeat leaves Fury’s future in doubt. Once unbeaten across 35 fights, Fury now stands at 34-2-1. His attempt to reclaim glory after a brief retirement in 2022 has been marred by back-to-back losses to Usyk.

Usyk, on the other hand, continues to add to his already remarkable resume, leaving fans and critics alike in awe of his technical skill, resilience, and determination. As the heavyweight division looks ahead, Usyk’s reign appears unshakable, and his place among boxing’s all-time greats is firmly secured.
