West Africa’s largest, and first international standard waterpark, Park Vega Waterpark, was unveiled on Friday, 4th of December, in Ewuru, Agbor, Delta State by the Executive Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, and the Dein of Agbor, Benjamin Ikenchukwu Keagborekuzi 1.

Park Vega Waterpark is a water-based amusement park for families to have fun, bond, and create happy memories together. The Park is a fun place to go as a family, couple, to host individual parties, and corporate events. Park Vega Waterpark is a location for every member of the family to experience their kind of fun as it has attractions for everyone.

The Governor, speaking to a large guest list that includes seasoned politicians, commissioners, local government Chairmen, tourism and hospitality practitioners the Delta State Governor declared that with the emergence of Park Vega Waterpark Delta State is Nigeria’s tourism destination.

Okowa said: “Park Vega Waterpark is in line with the Delta State development agenda that includes strategic wealth creation and transforming our environment by developing facilities. Those who will work here will no longer be classified as unemployed because they have created jobs for our unemployed children.

“I commended the Dein of Agbor for upholding our culture and thank the initiators of the Park Vega Waterpark vision for sighting it in Delta State as they could have taken it anywhere. I want to encourage others to start setting up complementary businesses near the Park to make Ewuru, Agbor to become a major town and urban centre.”

According to the Governor, “the success of the Park can only be guaranteed if we all patronise the Park by bringing our family, children, and encourage friends to also visit the Park even if they live in Asaba. The good thing is that there is no place you will find a park as well built as Park Vega Waterpark that we are looking at in the country.

The Delta State Governor, represented by the Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, was well-pleased with the state-of-the-art facilities.

On his part, the Dein of Agbor thanked the initiators of the Park for locating the Park in Agbor. He said the project will grow from strength to strength and asked the Agbor people, in particular, to support the Park.

The Managing Director, Park Vega waterpark, Mrs Nancy Orji, thanked the guests for coming. In her speech, she said the unveiling is historic and marks the beginning of a shift in the economy of Agbor and the State from an agrarian, oil, and government-funded economy to a private sector-driven economy. The brilliant thing about this private sector drive is that its one that ensures expansion in wealth creation and opens an avenue for more investments within Agbor.

Mrs Orji said: “Park Vega Waterpark is a world-class waterpark, a member of IAAPA (International Association of Amusements Parks & Attractions) and WWA (World Waterparks Association), is set to be Nigeria’s and indeed, West Africa’s first International Standard Waterpark. We have already begun to receive commendations from these International associations for our “dedication to pioneering the attraction industry in western Africa.”

She added “this waterpark is a tourist attraction and is, therefore, a core element of the tourism value chain because it’s a great motivator for tourism trips and expenditures and by extension, is capable of revitalizing local economies by pulling tourists across west Africa and Nigeria. Thus, increasing revenue for the government, local businesses and residents, in addition to providing direct and indirect jobs as professionals now come to Agbor look for work.”

Managing Director, Pudsey Limited, Engr. Ikechukwu Orji, the company that constructed the Park, took the guests on a facility tour. Some of the attractions toured were the Adult slides which are aptly named: space-hole slide, free-fall slide, multi-surf slide, and black hole – wave combo slide. These slides offer different experiences to riders.

The guests were amazed at the Wave Pool that mimics the ocean’s waves by pneumatically producing waves up to 1.1m height. It is the most up to date technology in the international market and the centrepiece of the waterpark.

Other attractions were the colourful Aqua tower, and Splash pad, for children and toddlers, fitted with over 50 interactive elements such as tipping bucket, bubbler jets, slides, umbrella jets, water guns, water wheels, the pipe falls, net bridge, net climber etc. The kid’s pools have very shallow depth and are finished with anti-slip tiles for all-day safe play.

Mr Orji explained that Park’s swim-up bar serves cocktails and mocktail drinks. He also told guest that the Park’s Activity pool was built for those that love an active lifestyle.

Those who wronged you may never say “I’m sorry” – Prudent Ludidi

Those who wronged you may never say “I’m sorry” – Prudent Ludidi

Ladies and gentlemen,

Today, I want to talk about something that can be difficult to accept, those who wronged you may never say “I’m sorry.”

Those who wronged you may never say "I'm sorry" - Prudent Ludidi

We’ve all been hurt by someone at some point in our lives. And often, we hold onto that hurt, and hope in waiting for the person who wronged us to acknowledge their mistake and apologize.

But the truth is, that apology may never come.

It’s hard to accept because we feel like we deserve closure. We deserve to hear that the person who hurt us regrets their actions.

But closure is not something someone else gives you. Closure is something you give yourself.

You have the power to choose:

Choose to heal, even if they never acknowledge their wrongdoing
Choose to move forward, even if they never make amends

Forgiveness doesn’t mean forgetting what happened. Forgiveness means releasing the hold that person has on you.

Forgiveness means taking back control of your life.

You don’t need someone else’s apology to move on. You don’t need someone else’s validation to heal.

You are strong enough to do it on your own.

And when you do, you’ll find peace. You’ll find freedom.

Remember, holding onto anger and resentment only hurts you. It doesn’t change the past.

But forgiveness can change your future.

So, don’t wait for someone else to say “I’m sorry.” Say it to yourself: “I’m sorry that happened to me, but I’m moving forward.”

Say it loud and clear: “I deserve to heal. I deserve to be happy.”

Take back your power. Take back your life.

Move forward with courage and faith.

You got this.
