As seconds, minutes and hours tick away heralding the announced date of May 4 for the partial resumption of business activities in Abuja, Lagos and Ogun states, residents of these states are eagerly awaiting the dawn of the day to hit the roads in their thousands.

According to report reaching us, Nigerians are fed up with the stay at home order even though it was pronounced for their own sake. It is obvious that in the last two months, people have gone through turbulent moments and a lot of Nigerians have also witnessed abject poverty which they never experienced before.

It is therefore understandable why the people can’t wait for the D-Day of resuming their commercial activities one again. To some members of the public spoken to by our correspondent, they expressed the optimistic willingness to storm the roads on Monday and seek for their daily bread which has been on hold for almost two months. Some are however of the view that the federal government may have realized its failure to provide the necessary palliatives that could keep Nigerians indoor for a longer period of time as obtained in other developing and developed countries, hence the government’s resolve in partially lifting the lockdown order due to the corona virus disease. It is hereby expected that come the dawn of Monday the 4th of May, thousands of Nigerians would be seen jostling for available transport facilities to their destinations or places of work.
