Professor Attahiru Jega has finally bowed out as Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) on Tuesday after five years of meritorious service to the nation.

Jega, who received accolades from Nigerians home and abroad as well as the international communities for his dignified contributions to the success of the 2015 general election, hands over to Ambassador (Dr.) Ahmed Wali.

Before his appointment as National Commissioners of the (INEC), Wali was a Visiting Reader (Associate Professor) to the Department of Political Science, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, and Chief Executive Officer, Development Strategies International (DSI).

Ambassador Wali is a member of various committees of INEC and the Chairman of the Tenders Board.

Wali, a Muslim, Fulani, hails from Sanyima town in Tambuwal Local Government Area of Sokoto State, in the North-West geopolitical zone of Nigeria.

Jega, who is leaving INEC with six National Commissioners whose tenure has equally expired, fought the greatest battle of his life, to preserve his good name, in conducting the 2015 general elections.

When former President Goodluck Jonathan nominated Jega as the Chairman of INEC in June, 2010, it was borne out of the conviction that he was found worthy of a position that had a history of lacking in men that live up to the creed such an office demands— unimpeachable integrity and being a consistent stickler for truth.

It would be recalled that general elections were conducted under Jega’s supervision – 2011, 2015- each with improvement as the 2015 general elections were accepted by all and sundry as the freest and fairest ever in the country’s electoral history.

He is a former President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), and was an opponent of the Babangida military government in the early 1990s. Politically leaning towards the left, as ASUU President he was closely associated with the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), and continued that connection throughout his career.

On April 29, 2010 he was guest lecturer for the NLC May Day celebration where he presented a paper on ’50 Years of Nationhood: Challenges of Good Democratic Governance, Credible Election and the Working Class’.

He is widely seen as an astute intellectual with a strong sense of ethics and morality.

Heaven’s Script Unfolds: Prophet Kingsley Aitafo’s 2025 Prophecy on Pope Francis Fulfilled

The world mourns Pope Francis, while a prophetic message echoes with divine accuracy.

Vatican City | April 21, 2025 — In a moment that has shaken the global Catholic community and resonated through spiritual circles worldwide, Pope Francis passed away peacefully on Easter Monday, April 21, 2025, at the age of 88, in his Vatican residence at Casa Santa Marta.

At 9:45 AM, Cardinal Kevin Farrell, Camerlengo of the Apostolic Chamber, made the somber announcement from the Holy See:

“Dearest brothers and sisters, with deep sorrow I must announce the death of our Holy Father Francis… At 7:35 this morning, the Bishop of Rome, Francis, returned to the house of the Father…”

But even amid the mourning, another narrative is making headlines — that of divine foresight.

Earlier this year, Nigerian cleric, Prophet Kingsley Aitafo, released a chilling prophecy regarding a “major exit in the Vatican,” naming Pope Francis as the focus of his revelation. Delivered in a January 2025 broadcast, the prophetic message warned of an impending transition in the Catholic Church’s highest office, citing spiritual visions of the Pontiff’s declining health and heavenly summons.

Today, that prophecy has come to pass.

A Voice Crying in the Spiritual Wilderness

Prophet Kingsley Aitafo, known for his bold prophetic utterances and spiritual insights, stated in his January message:

“Pray for the Vatican. I see a great change coming. The one seated shall be taken, and it shall mark a new chapter for the Church.”

While many took the message with caution, some believers rallied in prayer. As the months unfolded, Pope Francis’ health took a notable decline. He was admitted to Agostino Gemelli Polyclinic Hospital on February 14, 2025, for complications from bronchitis. Doctors later diagnosed him with bilateral pneumonia on February 18.

Despite returning to Casa Santa Marta after 38 days of hospitalization to continue recovery, the Holy Father never regained full strength.

The End of an Era

Pope Francis, born Jorge Mario Bergoglio, led the Catholic Church with humility, inclusiveness, and fervent compassion, championing the rights of the poor and marginalized. His papacy was marked by simplicity, progressive reforms, and a call to return to the Gospel’s core values.

As millions grieve, many within the prophetic community are pointing to Aitafo’s message as a profound sign of divine communication and the importance of spiritual sensitivity in turbulent times.

A Call to Spiritual Reflection

Prophet Kingsley, in a statement released hours after the Pope’s death, expressed his condolences while reaffirming the spiritual significance of the moment:

“This was not a wish — it was a word from the Spirit. Let the world understand: when God speaks, it is not to scare, but to prepare. Let us pray for the Church and its future.”

As the Vatican begins its formal mourning and preparations for the conclave, many eyes are now turned toward the heavens — and toward those anointed to see what lies ahead.,

The prophetic hall of fame and Ambassador of peace, prophet Godwin Ikuru of Jehovah Eye Salvation Ministry has sent a strong warning to those killing Christians in Nigeria to stop it or face spiritual consequences and battles

Speaking to newsmen today in Lagos about Easter celebration, the prophet of the nation condemned the killing of Christians nationwide ” I want to ask, what do you gain from killings, what is the joy you derive from making people widows and widowers, making children orphans,it’s a pure act of wickedness and cruelty, how will you be killing because you want to draw the attention of the government,if there’s anything, meet the government and dialogue with the government because there’s punishment for those that kills people, because the prison is meant for them, killing should not be encouraged because it’s an evil act”

I want to enunciate that those killing Christians should desist from it because grave doom and calamity awaits them “it’s barbaric, devilish and satanic to shed blood,God is against it, humanity is against it, let’s use the reconciliatory spirit of Easter to foster national unity and togetherness to promote love and peace in our country so that we can remain an indivisible entity ”
