The Head or Tail in Sugabelly’s Rape Accusation

Published

on

Rape-look-real

If a woman says she was raped, whether it is true or false, she deserves our support. Rape is too big a word to be toyed with. In my opinion, a woman who says she was raped when nothing of such happen has bigger problem than a woman that is raped (she need more help).

That was my initial reaction to Sugabelly’s rape narrative. Let’s assume she was saying the truth, she deserves our support, on the other hand, let’s assume she was lying, she deserves our support. Head or tail, Audu’s children and friends accused of rape and repugnant acts are now the victims; I don’t envy them neither do I pity their PR consultant right now.

What sense should we make of Sugabelly’s accusation? There are many. One, I will pay more attention to my daughter if I ever had one. I have always felt it is excruciatingly tasking to raise a child, and that has a Mathematics’ raised to power 2 to it if you were to raise a daughter. Raising my boys with my dutiful wife is not the kind of task school can prepare you for. You constantly have to keep up with the changes, options, knowledge, ever present cartoons, new friends and the music that break the heart of dutiful parents blaring out of the car radio, the TV or end of the year party. The ‘revelation’ by Sugabelly makes me reassess my role as a parent, my fear and the ever present question ‘am I doing enough to prepare them for tomorrow including all the sexual demons out there? Am I paying enough attention and am I praying enough?’ Many questions but few answers! This revelation should make all parents ask themselves the hard questions which require honest answers. Are you preparing your kids to face the monsters in human form out there?

Secondly, the accusation and counter accusation have made me jump to the conclusion to believe Sugabelly hook, line and sinker. What woman lie about rape in that proportion, graphic details and is brazen to use pictures without being sure? The Sugabelly story is so believable, we almost did not need court of law to pass judgement. We all know the judgement to pass-‘to the cross o ye Audu’s children’. But at the risk of standing against popular opinion, I beg to disagree. The fact that Sugabelly made it believable does not mean we should believe it without raising questions, the fact that she was brazen about it does not mean she couldn’t be lying.

I remember an incident in my childhood that shaped the way I take accusation without hard facts till date. My late step-mum had overheard a male child of our tenant, Oluyemi saying he kept money with a neighbour; she mistook the neighbour to be me. She reported me to my father and asked me with all the tricks in the book if I was keeping money for our neighbour. I said no since I wasn’t keeping money for the said neighbour. Oluyemi was called and asked if he kept money with me, and to my shock and chagrin he said yes. I looked at him in the eyes and asked with tears dropping from my eyes if he heard the question correctly, he said ‘yes’ and insisted I had kept the money for him right in the presence of my father and step-mum who already had the whip with her. She beat the hell out of me and my accuser was there to witness the hellish beating without changing his mind. I was traumatised by that experience. Till my step mum died she never believed Oluyemi did not keep the money with me. Till today I do not take every accusation on face value without proofs.

Few years later, Oluyemi was in my office after many years in between, I raised the issue of the false accusation, and to my shock, he did not remember.  How could he have forgotten about an event that lives with him?

N80.2bn fraud: Controversy trails ex-Kogi gov, Yahaya Bello’s visit to EFCC

Contradictory reports have emerged regarding the status of former Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, denying his arrest.

Bello’s media office had earlier in a statement, claimed the former governor had voluntarily honoured the EFCC’s invitation, while sources in the anti-graft agency said he was arrested in a sting operation late at night.

But the EFCC in a statement by the spokesman, Dele Oyewale, said the ex-Kogi governor remained wanted, adding that he was not in the custody of the commission.

However, the statement issued by the Director of Yahaya Bello Media Office, Ohiare Michael, read: “Former governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, today (yesterday) honoured the invitation of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

“This decision was made after due consultations with his family, legal team, and political allies. The former governor who has great respect for the rule of law and constituted authority, had, all the while, only sought the enforcement of his fundamental rights to ensure due process.

“The case has been before a competent court of jurisdiction, and Alhaji Yahaya Bello had been duly represented by his legal team at every hearing.

“It is important for the former governor to now honour the invitation of the EFCC to clear his name as he has nothing to hide and nothing to fear.

“The former governor believes firmly in the efforts of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to place Nigeria on the path of sustainable economic development and support the fight against corruption in the country.

“It is on record that he was the first governor of Kogi State to put in place an anti-corruption mechanism to check graft and ensure that the resources of the state worked for the people of the state.

“He was accompanied to the EFCC headquarters by high-profile Nigerians. It is our hope that the commission will be as professional as necessary and respect his fundamental rights as a citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Details of his engagement with the operatives of the anti-graft agency will be disclosed later.”

In a swift reaction, EFCC spokesman, Dele Oyewale, said the former Kogi governor remained a wanted person over alleged N80.2billion money laundering charges.

Oyewale said in a statement: “Media reports today (yesterday) that former governor of Kogi State, Mr. Yahaya Bello, is in the holding facility of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, is incorrect. The commission wishes to state that Bello is not in its custody.

“Bello, already declared wanted by the commission for alleged N80.2billion money laundering charges, remains wanted, with a subsisting warrant for his arrest. The commission wishes to state that Bello is not in its custody.”

The Consequences Of Disregarding The Prophecies Of Primate Elijah Ayodele

Primate Ayodele Never Said Seyi Makinde Would Become President’’ – Media Aide Clarifies*

The Consequences Of Disregarding The Prophecies Of Primate Elijah Ayodele

Primate Elijah Ayodele of INRI Evangelical Spiritual church is a prophet on his own different league; no competition, no rivals and even though we have several prophets operating in the same ministry, Primate Ayodele has maintained his uniqueness beyond reasonable doubts, hereby standing him out among others.

The Consequences Of Disregarding The Prophecies Of Primate Elijah Ayodele

It’s not for pride or class but there is absolutely no one that has the unction, prowess, clarity, and words that Primate Ayodele possesses. His ministry is beyond the everyday prophecy, made huge, unattainable records and still smashed them with more manifestations of his unique prophetic ministry.

For any nation, having a proven man of God like Primate Ayodele is a huge blessing because if the people and government honour, listen and follow prophets like him, no country in the world should be able to compete with them and the reason is this prophet warns nations of danger ahead of time, proffer solutions to problems, tell them what to do to become prosperous and several other mysterious things. It would indeed be a huge blessing for any nation to have Primate Ayodele in their midst.

However, Primate Ayodele is a typical reflection of Jesus’s statement about a prophet not getting honoured in his home town. As blessed as Nigeria is to have Primate Ayodele, He is more respected in foreign countries than Nigeria.

While other countries yearn to listen to his prophecies and follow his divine instructions, Nigerians are always looking out for when his prophecies would fail or when he would talk against their interest so they can proudly criticize him and call him names.

Despite the fact that they don’t even see his prophecies fail, they go to the extent of twisting Primate Ayodele’s prophecies just to push an agenda, they cook up stories against him to set him up for drags but instead of the ministry of this unique prophet to go down, it keeps growing from glory to glory.

Meanwhile, just two days ago, Primate Ayodele was hosted on Liberia’s biggest radio station, King’s FM, where he was interviewed about the nation of Liberia, what they would face in the near future and the solutions to their problems. It was an intense interview that lasted close to 3 hours with more than 3,000 Liberians staying glued till the very end and when the call lines were opened, the citizens kept on calling till the host stopped the calls from coming in – it just shows how much they honour the gift of Primate Elijah Ayodele.

On the other hand, Nigerians, including the government, instead of honouring Primate Ayodele by listening and following his divine instructions are after criticizing him in the most disrespectful manner. It is for this reason that unfortunate incidents happen in the country; the government prefers to call God’s prophet names even when they are being warned against impending dangers, they miss the message and focus on tackling the messenger and this is why they fail.

As we speak, Nigerians especially Abuja residents are currently in fear of an earthquake due to incessant movements on underneath the earth that has been happening for some days now.

These tremors, which began last weekend and continued intermittently through the night, have caused unease among locals.

Earth tremors are minor shifts in the Earth’s surface, caused by the same geological forces that lead to earthquakes. While they are generally less severe than full-fledged earthquakes, their persistence can be unsettling, especially when they occur in densely populated areas.

Of course, Primate Ayodele had specifically warned the Nigerian government against climatic conditions that would result in a kind of earth shaking. This statement was released by the man of God in April 2024.

These were his words

‘’There is an impending danger that will come through climatic conditions in some Nigerian states. I see some states experiencing earth shake as a result of climatic conditions.’’

“Nigeria has been experiencing flooding but another nationwide flooding looms and it will be very serious in states including Lagos, Abuja, Anambra, Abia, Enugu, Kogi, Edo, Adamawa, and Niger.’’

I foresee ‘earth-shaking’, climatic problems in Lagos, Abuja, Oyo, others – Primate Ayodele warns

The earth tremor that has consistently happened in Abuja for days is a fulfillment of the warnings of Primate Ayodele but it could have been worked on if the government paid attention to the words of the prophet rather than the prophet himself. The government has a responsibility to protect its citizens, Primate Ayodele has assisted them by revealing what is to happen but they prefer to do everything asides following divine instructions.

It is the same way Primate Ayodele warned Borno state government of an impending flood that would make thousands of people homeless in 2023. Unfortunately, instead of taking necessary precautions to prevent such, the government ignored and today, Borno has become a major attraction because of the deadly flood that swept through every part of the state.

At this point, Primate Ayodele doesn’t have anything to prove regarding his call as a prophet anymore, he has been tested and trusted, He is credible enough and doesn’t need anyone’s validation. He will continue to release his prophecies as God directs him but when people ignore these warnings, they would definitely experience the consequences.
