TINUBU SHAKE-UP: PRESIDENT REPLACES SERVICE CHIEFS, APPOINTS OLUYEDE AS NEW DEFENCE CHIEF

Tinubu Reaffirms Nigeria’s Commitment to Religious Freedom and Tolerance

Abuja, Nigeria — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed Nigeria’s unwavering commitment to religious freedom, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence among all citizens, stressing that the country remains a democracy governed by constitutional guarantees that protect freedom of religion and belief.

In an official statement released via his verified account on X (formerly Twitter), the President dismissed any characterisation of Nigeria as a nation intolerant of religion, insisting that such perceptions fail to reflect the country’s true reality.

“Nigeria stands firmly as a democracy governed by constitutional guarantees of religious liberty,” the President said. “Since 2023, our administration has maintained open and active engagement with Christian and Muslim leaders alike and continues to address security challenges affecting citizens across faiths and regions.”

Tinubu noted that the Nigerian government has consistently worked to safeguard the rights of every citizen, regardless of religious affiliation, adding that freedom of belief remains a cornerstone of the nation’s identity.

> “The characterisation of Nigeria as religiously intolerant does not reflect our national reality, nor does it take into consideration the consistent and sincere efforts of the government to safeguard freedom of religion and beliefs for all Nigerians,” he stated.

The President further emphasized that Nigeria “opposes religious persecution and does not encourage it,” assuring that his administration will continue to promote unity and mutual respect among all faith communities.

He reiterated his administration’s readiness to deepen cooperation with the United States government and the international community in strengthening the protection of communities of all faiths across the country.

> “Religious freedom and tolerance have been a core tenet of our collective identity and shall always remain so,” Tinubu affirmed.

The statement comes amid renewed global discussions on religious rights and interfaith relations, with Nigeria seeking to underscore its commitment to inclusive governance and peaceful coexistence.

Corruption Allegation: NYCN petitions Tinubu, others to suspend FUOYE VC selection process among other financial, sexual harassment allegations

The National Youths Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ekiti State chapter, has petitioned President Bola Tinubu to order an immediate suspension of the ongoing Vice-Chancellorship process in the Federal University of Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE).

The petition was titled: “Petition against ongoing administrative manipulation, corruption and abuse of due process in the appointment of a new Vice-Chancellor at the Federal University of Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE).”

The NYCN said to be representing the collective voice and future of Nigerian students and youth appealed to President Tinubu who is also the Visitor to FUOYE to turn his attention to “the grave irregularities, corruption, and coordinated administrative abuse” in FUOYE.

The petition which was jointly signed by the NYCN Ekiti State Chapter Chairman, Amb. James Bankole and its General Secretary, Oluwanifemi Olawale said FUOYE has “fallen into administrative darkness under the combined manipulation” of the Governing Council’s Chairman, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba and the outgoing Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Fasina.

The NYCN urged the President to take a “firm, decisive and transparent actions” to save FUOYE from “total institutional collapse.”

The NYCN lamented that the new Vice-Chancellor selection process “was designed to produce a predetermined” and preferred candidate of the Council Chairman and the outgoing VC in person of Prof. Joshua Ogunwole.

They stated the Council shrunk the whole selection process to two weeks, from Thursday 23rd October to Thursday 6th November, 2025, a timeframe they said was too short the selection committee to produce a credible candidate from the over 100 applicants.

They said such selection process in other Federal institutions take between six to eight weeks to complete.

The NYCN leadership lamented that FUOYE has in recent years become the “epicentre of disturbing governance decay.”

They alleged that with their “the toxic alliance” Senator Ndoma-Egba and Prof. Fasina has turned the university into a “personal empire, weaponizing the Governing Council for self enrichment, manipulation and the cover-up of corrupt acts.

The NYCN alleged that the Council Chairman has jettisoned due process and accountability for “corruption, impunity and reckless abuse of power” at the University.

Allegation of “calculated conspiracy to loot, conceal and perpetuate illegality” were levelled against the Senator of the VC.

They frowned at the fact that the Governing Council Chairman has relocated all council and committees meetings to Abuja since assuming office as against ministerial directive that such meetings should be held within the university campus.

They described such a decision as misuse of public funds which could have been used to fund accreditation exercises.

Among the corruption allegations was the approval of ₦128 million “Research leave” by the Vice-Chancellor for himself with the approval of the Council Chairman.

The petition also alleged the acquisition of a ₦700 million property in Ilupeju-Ekiti, an acquisition they said was grossly inflated at a time when staff welfare was deteriorating, disregard for institution’s accreditation need and with a crashing of FUOYE’s Internally Generated Revenue from ₦2 billion to under ₦50 million.

The petition also frowned at the deliberate suppression of a sex allegation level by one Engr. Folashade Adebayo against the outgoing VC among other sexual cover-ups.

“Our comprehensive findings have exposed a long-standing culture of sexual predation, intimidation and cover-ups within the institution.

“These are not isolated incidents; they are systemic, normalised abuses of power.”

The petition calls for immediate suspension of Prof. Fasina pending investigation, constitution of independent panel to investigate all sexual harassment allegations, immediate removal of Senator Ndoma-Egba as Chairman Governing Council, suspension of all current activities of committee relating to the vice chancellor selection process, comprehensive audit of FUOYE’s Finances among others.

Included on the petition list were the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, the Inspector-General of Police, Minister of Youth Development, the Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission, the Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) among others.

Coup Attempt: Why President Tinubu Must Appreciate Primate Ayodele’s Prophetic Gift

“You Can’t Use Primate Ayodele To Score Points For Your Failed Political Ambitions” – Fulani Group Blasts Umar Ardo

*Coup Attempt: Why President Tinubu Must Appreciate Primate Ayodele’s Prophetic Gift*

By Johnson Adeleke

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his cabinet members ought to get on the first flight to Lagos on Sunday and massively occupy INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, owned by Nigerian prophet, Primate Elijah Ayodele in appreciation to God for the attempted coup which didn’t materialize.

The specific mention of Primate Ayodele’s church isn’t to say that is the only place thanksgiving can be done but beyond that, it would be in acknowledgement of the prophet’s spiritual credibility because amongst the thousands of prophets in Nigeria, he was the only one who saw the attempted coup coming, even before the military intelligence acted.

Since July 2024, Primate Ayodele has been warning President Tinubu of attempts to take him out of power but it appeared his security agencies totally ignored the prophet probably they felt he was looking for their attention. He stated then that there will be political coup against the president and that saboteurs will begin to rise ahead of 2027 election.

These were his words:

“The way forward is constant electricity, mechanized farming, and ending insecurity. Insecurity is man-made, those behind it are in the system.

“The cabals in Tinubu’s government will rise soon. Saboteurs are in Tinubu’s government so the president must be watchful.

“The Northerners are plotting coup against him, political coup is coming against Tinubu in 2027.”

Expect political coup against Tinubu – Primate Ayodele

The prophet didn’t stop talking about the attempt and in July 2025, in an online interview, Primate Ayodele spoke about an intense plan to take Tinubu out of power unconstitutionally. He mentioned that some security operatives will be part of the plans to take the president out of power, while calling on the appropriate authorities to quickly work on the warning.

These were his words:

“I see an attempt to take power from him (Tinubu) in an unconstitutional manner. So, God warns him to take his personal safety very seriously. What I saw was coup-like, and tension everywhere,” declared Ayodele at the unveiling of the 2025 edition of his annual prophecy book, ‘Warnings To The Nations’, in Lagos.

PRIMATE AYODELE WARNS! Tinubu Must Fortify His Personal Security, I See Tension And Coup-Like Attempt Against His Government

Again in early October, Primate Ayodele called on security operatives to be very vigilant because some powerful Nigerians who are angry will attempt to seize power from President Tinubu in an unconstitutional manner. He stated that some security officers will be part of it.

These were his words:

“There will be an attempt to unseat Tinubu unconstitutionally; the NSA, DSS, and Chief of Army Staff must be careful about this. There are some gangs planning between November to January to unseat him.”

“ Even the Navy, Air Force will be part of it, including the Nigerian Army. President Tinubu must be ready for anything and fortify himself. He needs to change his security strategy because these personalities will be unbelievable names.”

As it stands, this warnings have been fulfilled after the Nigerian military reportedly foiled attempts to remove Tinubu from power. Although the military, as expected, denied such occurrence but event that have unfolded indicates that it happened. Some politicians, who were reportedly part of those behind it, confirmed that their homes were raided by military officers. Also, the sudden change of service chiefs just after the coup report surfaced is another indication.

Sincerely, the military intelligence must have used signals from Primate Ayodele to tackle this unfortunate incident and Primate Ayodele doesn’t only deserve to be appreciated but acknowledged for his timely alert.

Despite the criticisms he received after releasing the prophecy, he still continued talking about it till we got to this stage where something like it actually happened. President Tinubu definitely owes Primate Ayodele.
