In a heartwarming gesture of goodwill and solidarity, the TY Buratai Humanity Care Foundation has conveyed warm wishes to the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of Eid-el- Fitr. This message was conveyed in a statement signed by the Chairman of the foundation, Amb Ibrahim Dahiru Danfulani Sadaukin Garkuwan Keffi and Betara of Biu, and shared with the press.

The statement also highlighted the significant role played by the Grand Patron of the foundation, His Excellency, Ambassador Lt Gen Tukur Yusufu Buratai (Rtd) CFR, former Chief of Army Staff. Gen Buratai urged the Muslim Ummah to continue embodying the spirit of compassion and brotherhood they imbibed during the holy month of Ramadan, emphasizing the importance of assisting one another and being each other’s keeper.

 

 

 

Furthermore, the Grand Patron called on all Nigerians to offer prayers and maintain unwavering faith in the current administration of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He emphasized the need for support and trust in the leadership, which is dedicated to fostering national unity and progress.

 

 

 

 

The foundation, guided by its motto “Service to Humanity,” also issued a plea for global leaders to intervene and bring an end to the ongoing crises in Gaza, Ukraine, and Russia. In a bid to support the less privileged members of society, The TY Buratai Humanity Care Foundation encourages those who are more fortunate to help those in need so that everyone, including the less privileged, can participate in the celebrations.

It was a rousing welcome filled with joys and praises as people of Ketuland, Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State, on Tuesday welcomed the Alaketu of Epeland elect to his domain.

As early as 8am the T- junction leading to the town was occupied with women, men,the elderly, youths, families,friends and associates, along side traditional singers waiting eagerly to receive Prince Adekoya Babajide Adefowora.

Upon seeing the convoy of the Prince Adefowora, all became agog and the joys of the people knew no bound seeing the Alaketu elect who has not been to the town since 1999 due to the untimely death of his father, late Oba Adefowora murdered in cold blood in Abule Egba, Lagos .

Upon his arrival, Alaketu Epe elect visited the ketu Ereyun Divisional Police Headquarters, where he had a brief meeting with the Divisional Police Office,CSP Idungafa Nsidibi.

As the beloved Oba elect moved from one streets,quarters to another in the town to greet his subjects , torrential prayers where showered on him by the people while he also offered libations and prayers to deities and people of Ketuland as well.

At the Ejinrin General Hospital, Prince Adefowora empathized with some on the patients on the sick bed while patients who the Alaketu elect had extended hands of assistance to in the past were full of gratitude seeing their benefactor for the first time.

The Oba elect also paid a visit to the Doctor in charge of the Hospital, and the head of the Nursing service while addressing the Oba elect, thanked him for what he has provided for the hospital in the past and like Oliver twist, implored the Oba elect to donate amenities like Solar system for the use of the Health facilitity to aid the Heath workers in discharging their duties efficiently.

Speaking with Journalists shortly after the visits, Alaketu elect expressed gratitude to Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Hon. Tokunbo Wahab, who he described as a father and uncle that has been a Pillar of support.

He added that he visited the DPO to announce his arrival to his domain and gave assurance that peace would continue to reign supreme in Ketuland.

While he visited the hospital to check on the well -being of the patients, as some of them have been in contact with him while he was in overseas.

” To the Glory of Almighty God, I ve done a lot at the hospital. People have always called on me while I was in abroad telling me of their needs ; women given births and unable to pay bills, money to pay for operations and many like that. “Whenever they called, I hearken to their calls for help and ensure they were okay”

The Alaketu elect assured that he would continue to contribute meaningful to the hospital so as to further ensure condusive working environment for staffers of the Hospital.

EFCC Arraigns Four Chinese Nationals Over Alleged Cyber Fraud and Identity Theft in Lagos

The Lagos Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, arraigned four Chinese nationals before Justices M. Kakaki and Ayokunle Faji of the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos.

The defendants—Xia Guang Can, Li Xu Xin, Zhang Xue Hui, and Lu Yubo—are part of a 792-member syndicate suspected of cryptocurrency investment and romance fraud. The group was arrested during a surprise operation conducted by the EFCC on December 10, 2024, codenamed “Eagle Flush Operation.”

Xia Guang Can, Li Xu Xin, and Zhang Xue Hui were arraigned on separate single charges before Justice Kakaki, while Lu Yubo faced a two-count charge before Justice Faji. The charges include internet fraud, cyber-terrorism, possession of documents containing false pretenses, advance fee fraud, and identity theft.

One of the charges against Zhang Xue Hui reads:

“That you, ZHANG XUE HUI, sometime in December 2024 at Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, caused to be accessed a computer system used for the purpose of destabilizing and destroying the economy and social structure of Nigeria, thereby committing an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 18(1) of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, Etc.) Act 2015.”

A charge against Lu Yubo stated:

“That you, Lu Yubo, and Genting International Co. Limited, adult, on or about December 11, 2024, at No. 7, Oyin Jolayemi Street, Victoria Island, Ikoyi, Lagos, within the jurisdiction of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, willfully caused to be accessed a computer system organized to seriously destabilize the economic and social structure of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, by procuring and employing several Nigerian youths for identity theft and other computer-related fraud, thereby committing an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 18 of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition and Prevention, Etc.) Act, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2015 (as amended).”

All four defendants pleaded not guilty to their respective charges. Following their pleas, EFCC prosecution counsel Fanen Anum and Ahmed Yerima requested trial dates and sought an order for the defendants to be remanded at a Correctional Centre. Defense counsel prayed for a short adjournment to file bail applications.

Justice Kakaki adjourned the trial of Xia Guang Can, Li Xu Xin, and Zhang Xue Hui to March 18, 2025, and ordered their remand at a Correctional Centre. Justice Faji adjourned Lu Yubo’s trial to March 31 and April 3, 2025, and ordered his remand at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre.

The EFCC emphasized its commitment to ensuring justice in cases of cyber fraud and identity theft, highlighting the importance of safeguarding Nigeria’s economic and social structures from cybercrime activities.

The Lagos University Teaching Hospital School of Nursing /Midwifery Old Students Association (LUTHSONMOSA) has donated about 200 delivery packs to pregnant women in some Primary Healthcare Centres in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State.

Enthusiasm As LUTHSONMOSA Offers Free Delivery Packs, Others To Pregnant Women At Alimosho LG PHCs

The body made the donation during its empowerment programme tagged Alimosho Project 2025.

The President of the old students, Mrs Olufolake Ajayi, explained that the body embarked on the empowerment project “on hearing about the plight of the pregnant women in Alimosho LGA , the largest local government in LASG, with the highest indices of maternal mortality rate.”

Ajayi said the association also embarked on an awareness programme in 3 PHCs on danger signs during pregnancy and the need to seek healthcare in a well-established environment with qualified professionals.

According to her, the awareness was followed up with provision on 150 personalised Delivery packs to the tune of six million naira (N6,000,000) for pregnant women nearing their delivery dates within the 3 PHCs.

They are: Rauf Aregbesola PHC, Egbeda; Elf PHC, Igando and Egbe Idimu PHC.

“Being in the Nursing and Midwifery professions, it was very disturbing to learn of such and we deliberated on the issue. We then decided to try and make whatever little difference we could within that community that made us who and what we are today.

“It was a fulfilling and impactful project because we were so grateful to God for the opportunity to touch the lives of these few women. We were so impressed with the number of women who eagerly participated and benefited positively in the 3 Day Community Outreach programme.

“This is a testament to the success of the 3-Day programme for pregnant women when we were able to utilise our knowledge, skills and expertise to touch lives,” the president said.

The President applauded the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Olufunmilayo Bankole, Alimosho LGA District 1 for granting the body the permission to reach out to these women.
