TY BURATAI HUMANITY CARE FOUNDATION COMMENDS CDS, COAS, CAS, AND TROOPS OF OPERATION HADIN KAI FOR FOILING TERRORISTS’ ATTACKS ON BURATAI AND MALLAM FATORI

The TY Buratai Humanity Care Foundation has lauded the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Chief of Air Staff (CAS), and the gallant troops of Operation Hadin Kai for their recent success in thwarting terrorist attacks in Buratai and Mallam Fatori, located in Biu Local Government Area and Abadam Local Government Area respectively, of Borno State. Special recognition is given to the courageous men and women of the 135 Special Forces Battalion Buratai, whose swift and decisive actions played a crucial role in safeguarding the lives of innocent civilians.

In a statement released to the press and signed by the Chairman of the Foundation, Ibrahim Dahiru Danfulani Sadaukin Garkuwan Keffi/Betara Biu, the commendation underscores the significant achievements of the Nigerian Armed Forces in combating insurgency in the region. The statement highlighted the foundation’s Grand Patron, His Excellency Amb Lt Gen Tukur Yusufu Buratai CFR (Rtd), former Chief of Army Staff, who expressed optimism for improved security under the current administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“I see improved security in the next two years under Tinubu,” stated Gen Buratai earlier this week, emphasizing that the recent operational successes are a positive step towards achieving lasting security in Nigeria.

The attempted attack on Buratai occurred in the early hours of Thursday, June 5, 2025, when terrorists sought to infiltrate the troops’ location from multiple directions. However, the troops, demonstrating exceptional preparedness and resolve, engaged the insurgents with heavy gunfire. The Air Component provided critical close air support, enabling the ground forces to repel the assault effectively.

In the aftermath of the confrontation, troops discovered numerous lifeless bodies of terrorists and recovered a significant cache of assorted arms and ammunition. The soldiers are currently conducting further operations in the area to ensure the complete neutralization of any remaining threats.

Preliminary reports indicate that many insurgents were neutralized, with the troops recovering several AK-47 rifles, General Purpose Machine Guns, Rocket Propelled Grenades, and other military equipment.

The ongoing efforts of Operation Hadin Kai to deny terrorists freedom of action have been underscored by these recent successes. The commitment of the Nigerian Armed Forces to safeguarding the nation’s security remains unwavering as they continue to engage and dismantle insurgent capabilities in the region.

The TY Buratai Humanity Care Foundation extends its heartfelt gratitude to the troops for their bravery and dedication, reaffirming its support for the ongoing fight against terrorism in Nigeria. The foundation encourages all stakeholders to remain united in the pursuit of peace and security for all citizens.

NDA Commandant Lauds FG for Upgrading Academy’s Infrastructure

The Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Major General Abdulkhalifa Ibrahim, has commended the Federal Government for providing the necessary resources and upgrading the academy’s infrastructure. This was disclosed during a visit by the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Abubakar, to the NDA and other military institutions in Kaduna State.

During the two-day visit, Abubakar expressed satisfaction with the progress being made in producing essential equipment for the armed forces, including MRAPs, UAVs, and other innovative technologies at the Command Engineering Depot. According to the Minister, the institutions are doing a “very good job” in carrying out the President’s instructions to conduct deep research and achieve self-sufficiency in military requirements.

The Minister specifically praised the production of MRAPs at the Engineering Depot, noting that the equipment are being produced locally. He also commended the workshop’s maintenance and repair capabilities, stating that most damaged MRAPs and tanks are being repaired there. Additionally, he appreciated the new Buffalo MRAP and other equipment built by the institutions.

Regarding the training of military officers, Abubakar emphasized the crucial role of the NDA in producing highly committed officers. He reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting the NDA and ensuring that it has the necessary resources to train effective officers.

On security concerns, the Minister mentioned that the Federal Government is working to restore normalcy in areas affected by communal clashes and insurgency. In Birnin Gwari, he noted that kinetic and non-kinetic measures have been taken, stating that the situation has returned to normalcy. “Markets are open, and traffic is flowing freely,” he said.

The Minister acknowledged that some states are still experiencing small attacks and assured that the government is doing its best to address the issues. In Benue, where communal clashes between farmers and herders are a major concern, the Minister emphasized the need for a non-kinetic approach to appease the parties involved and prevent further attacks.

In the north-east, particularly in Borno, the Minister noted that the resurgence of Boko Haram requires a robust response, noting that the military is working to counter the threat. He expressed confidence in the military’s ability to tackle the new threat and restore normalcy, saying that the troops are doing “wonderfully well” and would continue to do so with the special grace of God and the public’s prayers.

During the visit, the Minister inspected ongoing construction projects and facilities, and interacted with senior officers at the NDA. The Minister also visited several key locations within the Academy, including the Hall of Fame, the Centre of Excellence (under construction), the Senate Building (under construction), the Postgraduate School, and the Centre for Innovation and Creativity.

Eid al-Adha: Speaker Obasa Calls for Compassion for the Needy, Urges Nigerians to Unite as One

The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Dr) Mudashiru Obasa has emphasised the importance of compassion and charity towards the less fortunate in society.

The Speaker said this in a heartfelt message marking the celebration of Eid al-Adha, which was released to the public ahead of the festival by his Chief Press Secretary, Dave Agboola.

Speaker Obasa highlighted the essence of Eid al-Adha, which commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God. He drew parallels between this spirit of sacrifice and the modern-day necessity of aiding the disadvantaged. “As we celebrate this significant occasion,” he noted, “let us remember those who are less fortunate. Compassion should be at the core of our hearts, motivating us to support the needy among us.”

He called on residents of Lagos State, especially the Muslim ummah, to extend their hands in kindness and participate in charitable acts, whether through donations, food distribution, or other forms of assistance to those facing hardships. “I encourage everyone to open their hearts and contribute to the welfare of others. It is through our collective efforts that we can alleviate suffering and build a more inclusive society,” he stated.

In the sallah message, Obasa stressed the need for individuals to embody the spirit of sacrifice in their daily lives, not only during festive periods but throughout the year. He reminded the public that sharing and caring for others fosters a sense of belonging and creates a more harmonious society.

The Speaker also reflected on the values of unity and community that Eid embodies, encouraging citizens all over the country to come together regardless of their differences. “Eid al-Adha teaches us the power of togetherness. Let us embrace our diversity and strengthen our bonds as a community, ensuring that no one is left behind,” he added.

Dr Obasa further extended his warm greetings to all Muslims in Lagos State, urging them to celebrate safely and responsibly while reflecting on the deeper meanings of the holiday. “Let us celebrate with gratitude and a renewed commitment to helping people around. May this Eid bring peace, joy, and prosperity to us all,” he concluded.
