Workers Day: Ajadi Felicitates Civil Servants, Promises Continuous Welfarism Policies If Elected As Governor
As workers across the World celebrate their day on Friday, May 1, 2026, a leading Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo has rejoiced with the workers in Oyo State.
This is as he also promised to continue the welfarism policies and enhancement of civil servants by the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde when elected as the Governor of the state in 2027.
International Workers’ Day, also called Labour Day or May Day is a celebration of labourers and the workforce that is promoted by the international labour movement and occurs every year on May 1.
Ajadi, in a statement on Thursday, said that workers are the engine rooms of development all over the world, saying that their contributions to national development and growth cannot be ignored by any government.
He then rejoiced with the workers on the occasion of their annual day and wished them a good celebration.
Ajadi, a business tycoon and employer of labour, said that the harsh economy is telling hard on the living conditions of workers, promising that a PDP-led government at the federal level will introduce workers’ friendly policies.
He used the occasion of this year’s Workers Day to commend Governor Seyi Makinde for his good working relations with the workers and more importantly for the prompt payment of salaries and pension for workers and retirees.
“I thank our leader, Governor Seyi Makinde for his love for the workers, and regular payment of salaries on the 25th of every month is commendable,” Ajadi said.
He promised that when elected, he will continue the workers friendly policies of Governor Seyi Makinde of the state.

Federal Ministry of Health Appoints Doyin Bademosi to National Cancer Control Plan Working Group
The Federal Ministry of Health has appointed health technology expert Doyin Bademosi as a member of the Technical Working Group (TWG) for Nigeria’s National Cancer Control Plan (NCCP), signaling a renewed push toward digital innovation in the country’s fight against cancer.
Bademosi, who is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Durotimi AI, will serve as Chairman of the Cancer Data, Artificial Intelligence, and Digital Health Subcommittee. In this role, he is expected to provide strategic advisory support on advancing cancer surveillance systems, improving early detection protocols, and integrating artificial intelligence into Nigeria’s oncology framework.
The NCCP serves as Nigeria’s strategic roadmap for addressing the growing cancer burden and improving patient outcomes nationwide.
Health authorities say Bademosi’s appointment reflects a deliberate shift toward data-driven and technology-enabled healthcare solutions tailored to the country’s unique infrastructure and demographic needs.
Speaking on his appointment, Bademosi emphasized the importance of localized innovation in healthcare delivery.
“To move the needle on cancer survival in Nigeria, we must move beyond generic technology and embrace localized intelligence,” he said. “My mission has always been to ensure that AI acts as a clinical accelerator, not a barrier. I am honored to support the Ministry in building a sustainable, digitally enabled oncology framework that prioritizes early detection and equitable access for every Nigerian.”
According to officials, his work within the TWG will focus on developing interoperable and ethically sound digital health systems optimized for local populations, ensuring accessibility across diverse regions.
The Ministry noted that the inclusion of private-sector expertise in the NCCP underscores its commitment to public-private collaboration in tackling complex health challenges.
Bademosi brings over a decade of experience in health technology architecture, having led the design and deployment of innovative clinical solutions. Beyond his role at Durotimi AI, which operates from Minnesota in the United States with a European base in Ireland, he is also the founder of Radmol AI and a member of the Mayo Clinic Platform Accelerate alumni network.
