Hon. Odunjo appealed to every meaning residents of the State, to support Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi to emerge as the Ogun State Governor come 2027, so as to justify the good works Sen. Adeola has been doing in the State and as well for equity, fairness and justice.
He added “Our group has come together and x-rayed various good quality hands that have shown interest to be governor from the zone, and agreed that the support for Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly called Yayi will be at the best interest of the Zone and the State in general”.

Odunjo stated that Yewa Awori zone in the Ogun West Senatorial District is yet to speak with one voice due to fragmented leadership, personal ambitions and the absence of a common front.

“As 2027 draws near, Yewa Awori stands at a defining moment in its political journey. The ambition to produce the Governor of Ogun State is valid, heartfelt, and long overdue. But there comes a time in every struggle when wisdom must take the front seat, and emotion must yield to strategy.
This is one of those times. We must be honest with ourselves: despite our rich history, educated elite, and clear demographic strength, Yewa Awori has yet to speak with one voice. Fragmented leadership, personal ambitions, and the absence of a common front have made it difficult to build the kind of political momentum required to win the governorship.
“Our inability to consolidate support – even among ourselves has become our greatest weakness.
“The Visionaries a Socio Political Organisation that cut across Ogun State therefore demand that Ogun West produce the next governor of the State come 2027”.

Speaking further, Hon.Odunjo said”It is lamentable that the District is the only district that has not produced a governor for the state since its creation in 1976.

“Therefore, in the 2027 governorship election, we say this is the time to speak with one voice for the purpose of equity, fairness and justice, the time has come for Yewa Awori and Ogun West to present the next Governor of Ogun State.

“As a matter of fact, The sobriquets have been, Yewa Awori has nobody to present as a credible governorship material, but we thank God today that the time has evolved, we have quality and well grounded individuals who have the wherewithal to govern Our dear State.

“For almost Five decades now, the Yewa Awori people are the most marginalized ethnic group in Ogun State in the area of employment, appointment, project execution until recently when Senator Olamilekan Adeola came to Our rescue and started changing the narratives. There was a paradigm shift in his quality representation
As a Senator representing the district, we have felt his presence in all facets of Our people, not only in Yewa Awori Zone, but throughout the entire State.
Worthy of note and encomium is the institutionalization of this agenda in the area of appointments (both civil service and political), allocation and execution of projects. This is why Yewa Awori people will continue to be grateful to Senator Adeola
“Also, in the health sector, we are glad with the various interventions and construction work at various health centers, the rehabilitation and construction of township roads in all the Five local governments in the district and even across the State is no doubt a step in the right direction.

“Since 1976, Yewa Awori is lacking behind as it is the only Area in the State without a federal University, but we thank God for the doggedness and good representation of Our darling Senator for his role in the upgrade of Federal Polytechnic Ilaro to a full fledged University of Technology.
“This is why we’re appealing to every meaning residents of the State, to support Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi to emerge as the Ogun State Governor come 2027 to justify the good works he is doing in the State and for equity, fairness and justice.

“At this Juncture, the Visionaries thanked his Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for the support he had been given Our Son, Senator Yayi and for his passion in transforming the Country. It’s Our prayer that Almighty Allah will continue to bestow on him good health and more wisdom as he navigates the country to the promised land.

“We also appreciate our Governor, his Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun CFR, he has been a good leader and a performing Governor who has given hope to Yewa Awori district of Ogun State in terms of projects distribution and execution. Thanks Your Excellency.
For the equity , fairness and justice to be institutionalized for even posterity sake, the next Gubernatorial Candidate should be Senator Olamilekan Adeola Yayi as APC governorship candidate. By so doing, we have right the wrongs that have been metted on the zone that lays the golden egg since the creation of Ogun State decades ago.

“We believe that his emergence as governor will truly transform the State and consolidate on the gains of past governors that have administered the State.

“He is a man with a clear vision, dedication, and focus to effectively manage the state’s economic potential and natural resources if given the mandate. Yayi’s leadership qualities and extensive knowledge of the political landscape, highlighting his ability to bring positive change to Ogun State is unparalleled.

Yayi’s selflessness, care for others, and commitment to the State as outlined in his various empowerments and attention to various interests for overall development, and the provision of social and infrastructural amenities throughout the Ogun West Senatorial District and the State, we therefore urged the public to invest in Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi leadership to emerge as the flag bearer of APC in the 2027 elections, and subsequently succeed his Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun and promote agricultural prosperity, economic growth, foreign investments, and industrial expansion in Ogun State”

Present at the event were some leaders and members of All Progressives Congress,APC and non party members across the 20 Local Governments of the state.

FRSC Partners with Edutainment First International to Drive Road Safety Awareness in Nigeria

In a country where road accidents claim thousands of lives each year—most of them young people—the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and Edutainment First International have launched a bold new initiative to change the narrative. On Thursday, August 14, both organizations hosted the maiden Road Safety Youth Hangout at the National Judicial Institute, Abuja.

The event, held to mark United Nations International Youth Day 2025, brought together more than 300 participants, including members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), students, youth leaders, and community representatives. Unlike traditional road safety campaigns, the hangout was designed as an interactive forum blending education and entertainment, where young Nigerians could learn, innovate, and commit to safer road practices.

According to FRSC data, young people remain the most vulnerable demographic in road traffic crashes across Nigeria—an urgent concern this initiative aims to tackle. Through storytelling, innovation, and collaborative problem-solving, the Road Safety Youth Hangout sought to transform young Nigerians into advocates for safety within their communities.

“This is not just about rules and regulations,” said one of the organizers. “It’s about equipping young people with the tools and the voice to change Nigeria’s road culture.”

Aligned with the UN’s 2025 theme, “Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond,” the program underscored the critical role of young Nigerians in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those connected to health, safety, and responsible citizenship.

By focusing on empowerment rather than enforcement, FRSC and Edutainment First International signaled a fresh approach to road safety: investing in the next generation as the real drivers of change. The belief is simple yet powerful—an informed and empowered youth population is key to reducing accidents and saving lives.

For many participants, the hangout was more than just an event; it was a wake-up call. With interactive sessions infused with music, drama, and dialogue, young Nigerians were challenged to reflect on their daily habits as road users and to embrace leadership as advocates for safer communities.

As one youth participant reflected:

“Road safety isn’t just the job of the FRSC. It’s our responsibility too—because we are the ones most at risk.”

The maiden edition of the Road Safety Youth Hangout may have ended, but the movement it launched has only just begun. Its message was unmistakable: Nigeria’s fight for safer roads must be youth-led, collaborative, and relentless.
