How Primate Ayodele Warned Tinubu’s Government About Protests Against Economic Hardship

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) declared that it will be embarking on a two-day protest against economic hardship in the country and truthfully, the protest started today in almost every state in the country.

How Primate Ayodele Warned Tinubu’s Government About Protests Against Economic Hardship

In some states, activities were crippled because of the massive turnout of protesters that stormed the streets to register their displeasure in the Nigerian government for their inability to lift the country out of an economic pandemic.

Meanwhile, Nigerian prophet, Primate Elijah Ayodele had warned even before President Tinubu became the president that there will be massive protests against economic hardship because the administration will not get it right in several sectors.

Since President Tinubu got into power, Primate Ayodele has advised him severally about the current situation of the country. The prophet warned him some months ago saying that there will be more confusion about the economy in February 2024.

Apart from mentioning the month when it will be more difficult, Primate Ayodele made it known that there will be a protest in terms of economic hardship.

These were his words

‘’there will be more confusion about the economy in February 2024 on what to do to make it better. There is a lot of things the government needs to do in order to get it right otherwise I am seeing protest coming in terms of economy and the situation the country is passing through.’’

True to his words, the NLC nationwide protest which kicked off today was tagged ‘An economic hardship protest’ in recognition of the situation Nigeria is currently in.

It would also be recalled that Primate Ayodele warned Nigerians in 2022 against voting another APC government in 2023. He stated that another APC government will lead to serious economic hardship for the country. He stated then that the hardship Nigerians would experience will be more than that of Ex-president Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

“I’m not saying anyone should not insult me; I am not scared of any human being. If Nigeria votes APC in 2023, things will be tougher. We will see human beings and want to eat them like food. This is how God told me. I am not saying you should not criticise me or say anything against me, even as an APC member; I warned you in 2015 too. If you want to vote for lies in 2023, if you vote for the party that has a broom as their symbol, I pity churches. I am not against anybody, and I don’t vote. Nigeria will be tough. If you vote and Tinubu enters, there will be serious problems.”

“If Nigerians vote for APC in 2023, the country will sink, we will swim in poverty, and the economy will be in shambles. If the APC wins, Nigeria will suffer extraordinarily. We have not yet seen hardship; if APC wins, the real hardship will come. The economy will be sick.”

This was revealed in a communique issued at an Emergency meeting of the Executive held at the NUJ State Council, Iwe-Iroyin in Abeokuta.

The vote of confidence on the Leadership of NAWOJ was unanimously signed by all the five executive members that attended the meeting with the vice chairperson taking apology for official engagement outside the state capital.

According to the communique ” Consequently, NAWOJ Ogun State Chapter, reaffirms it’s unwavering support and confidence in the Chairperson and the Financial Secretary, Sekinat Salam and Charity James respectively, Urge them to continue in their commitment to purposeful leadership in the best interest of the association and the society at large”.

Speaking briefly with Journalists after the emergency Executive meeting, the Chairperson, Nigeria Association of Woman Journalists (NAWOJ), Com. Sekinat Salam, said the meeting was necessary as the news of her suspension was laughable and insulting because it is like a pot calling a kettle black in this case, saying that the Leadership of the State Council, Com. Wale Olanrewaju has no local standing to suspend her or any executive member, even he cannot be a judge in his own case.

According to her” The Leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ogun State led by Wale Olanrewaju has always been misusing power without recourse to the constitution of this noble Union, hence has no local standing to suspend me or any executive member “.

She said only the Central Working Committee (CWC) has the constitutional rights to sanction or suspend any members found wanting after due process has been followed.

While calling on members to stay calm, Com. Sekinat Salam assured members of positive representation of NAWOJ at both the State and National level, adding the success recorded under her administration cannot be overemphasized.

She therefore called on the National leadership of NUJ to critically look into the matter, either by setting up independent committee to investigate the issues and resolve the matter as quickly as possible.
