For the victims of the quick to get rich syndrome popularly known as MMM, the popular song of late Highlife Musical legend, Fela Anikulapo – Kuti “double wahala for deady – body” and Kellyhandsome’s single “Maga don pay, shout Halleluyah” will forever linger on their minds.
Earlier this week, many participants of the Money Making Machine are expected to be paid this week, while others are due since last week, but to their utmost dismay, their hope was dashed.
I cannot but sympathize with friends and colleagues alike who also ventured in this illegitimate ‘Kalo Kalo ” game. I don’t want to mention names please!
Also, I want to commiserate with families of the deceased who committed suicide following his N1. 5million naira lost to the 419ers in the name of providing succor to the suffering of Nigeria masses.
The deceased (name withheld) was said to have invested his N1 million naira and his bride’s N. 5million saved for their wedding plan into the MMM, but all effort to get help two weeks ago until it dawned on him this week that, the system had crashed.
Rather to face the imminent shame that may follow his inability to get married this Saturday (tomorrow), he took heart and joined his ancestors. May God forgive his sins.
However, despite stern warning from Central Bank of Nigeria, National Assembly and notable social critics, it is appalling that we still have some gullible rich Nigerians who invested in such scam.
Before MMM became popular in August, many get rich quick schemes have been introduced to Nigeria market which many have fallen vic
Among these syndromes are; Forex Brothers, Helping Revolution, MMM United, Get Help, ME 2 U and so on.
Interestingly, in Helping Revolution, you will need to buy dollars with Naira to participate in such scam. Once you were able to purchase the dollar, they will turn it to bit coin for the participant.
The side attraction of Helping Revolution is that, about 100 million santosh is equivalent to 1 bit coin, while 1 bit coin is equivalent to N400, 000. What a big money. The more your investment is higher your income.
In Forex Brothers, once the participant converted his/her naira to dollars, at every seconds, a certain amount of money will be drop in the account, but within one week, all these crashed and attention was later shifted to MMM.
Annoyingly, some of the victims of the aforementioned scam, gullibly transferred their hard earned resources on the MMM new syndrome.
Many bankers, lecturers, doctors, nurses, students, teachers and policemen invested in this scam.
In Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, a senior lecturer in one of the science departments collected his N120, 000 monthly salary and invested it on the scheme.
Not satisfied enough with the bonus on the N120, 000, this lecturer requested for 10-months salary loan accruing about N1 million and invested it on MMM, today, this fair-complexioned lecturer has been admitted at Federal Medical Centre in Abeokuta on Wednesday for suspected hypertension.
Many Nigerians today are now suffering from health problems, while many marriages have crashed due to the level of loss into the scheme.
But while MMM participants are still taking solace in the loss that befell them, I want to urge relatives of the victims who are still alive or in the hospital to put them under closed watch, in order to avert further suicide or psychological trauma.
Before I drop my pen, the question begging for answers now is…………. , WHAT NEXT AFTER MMM?
MICHAEL-AZEEZ is my name, I just want to make commonsense
