NO GOING BACK: YAYI REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT AT APC NATIONAL CONVENTION 2026

Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has once again reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to progressive leadership, unity within the party, and the continuous advancement of national development.

The distinguished Senator, currently representing Ogun West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, made this known on Saturday, March 28, 2026, during the just-concluded National Convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held at the historic Eagle Square in Abuja.

The convention, which brought together party leaders, elected officials, stakeholders, and thousands of party faithful from across the federation, served as a platform for strengthening internal unity, reviewing the party’s achievements, and charting a strategic course for the future of the ruling party.

Senator Adeola attended the high-profile political gathering alongside his wife, Chief (Mrs) Temitope Adeola. The couple joined other prominent leaders and stakeholders in reaffirming their loyalty to the ideals and collective vision of the party.

Reflecting on the significance of the convention, Senator Adeola Yayi described the event as more than just a routine political gathering.

According to him, it was a moment that provided an opportunity for deep reflection on the journey so far, renewed unity among members, and a stronger commitment to the progressive ideals upon which the party was founded.

In his words:

“On Saturday, March 28, 2026, my dear wife, Temitope, and I had the honour of attending the National Convention of the All Progressives Congress at Eagle Square, Abuja.

“It was a moment of reflection, unity, and renewed commitment as we engaged with party leaders and members on the progress we have made and the work that lies ahead.

“As Yayi, I remain resolute in strengthening our shared vision, advancing progressive ideals, and delivering meaningful results for the people we serve.

“Together, we move forward – stronger, focused, and committed to a greater future.”

The statement by the distinguished lawmaker further underscored a powerful and unmistakable message – one of consistency in leadership, dedication to effective service delivery, and an unshakable determination to contribute meaningfully to the development of both Ogun State and Nigeria as a whole.

Observers at the convention noted that the gathering helped reinforce alliances within the party while also energizing members ahead of future political engagements. With renewed enthusiasm and strengthened political relationships emerging from the convention, many political pundits believe Senator Adeola’s vision remains firmly anchored on progress, unity, and inclusive development.

For Yayi and his supporters, the message from the convention is clear and unequivocal: there is no going back on the commitment to progressive governance, people-oriented leadership, and the collective pursuit of a greater and more prosperous future for all.

Lagos Taskforce Boss Accuses Social Media Operators Of Smear Campaign Over Traffic Crackdown

The Chairman of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit (Taskforce), CSP Adetayo Akerele, has alleged that recent online attacks against him and the agency are the result of his refusal to grant undue favours to certain social media operators.

Akerele made the disclosure during a radio interview on Lagos Traffic Radio 96.1FM’s programme, Bosenlo, where he accused individuals identified as Sheriffdeen Ojon and Objectv of persistently lobbying for the release of impounded motorcycles, popularly known as okada, and other vehicles seized for traffic violations, particularly for driving against traffic.

According to the Taskforce Chairman, the individuals resorted to threats and smear campaigns after their requests were denied. He described the attacks as a coordinated effort to discredit both his office and the agency.

He further revealed that he possesses evidence, including screenshots of Facebook conversations, which allegedly show requests for preferential treatment and subsequent threats of blackmail when those requests were not granted.

“It is both sad and embarrassing that individuals who should be using their social media platforms to disseminate meaningful and enlightening information to the public have instead turned them into tools for blackmail, intimidation, and the spread of falsehoods and half-truths,” Akerele said.

Reiterating the provisions of the Lagos State Road Traffic Law (2018), Akerele emphasized that vehicles caught driving against traffic are liable to outright forfeiture to the Lagos State Government. He noted that strict enforcement of the law is essential to curb the menace of one-way driving, which he said has resulted in avoidable accidents, loss of lives, and lasting trauma for victims and their families.

He urged the public to be cautious of information disseminated through unverified platforms, describing such content as misleading and questionable in intent.

Akerele, however, reaffirmed his commitment to enforcing traffic laws without fear or favour, assuring residents that neither he nor the Taskforce would be intimidated or distracted from their mandate of maintaining order and ensuring safety on Lagos roads.
