As the 75th birthday anniversary of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E. A. Adeboye gathers gathers momentum, the holiness preaching man of God has said he would only be celebrating his day with Marathon Messiah’s Praise starting 12:00pm on Monday, February 27, 2017 to 2:00pm on Thursday, March 2, 2017.

One of Daddy G.O’s son, Oluwagbemileke Adeboye, who is also one of his Personal Assistants said; “Daddy won’t be doing any celebration this year except this marathon praise.”

“The program is improving every year to the glory of God. It is also important to note that as we are doing 75hrs praise we have some group also that are doing 75hrs non-stop prayers.”

“We would be using this medium to pray for the country and our president because, there’s no way you praise God that He won’t move to answer such request very fast.”

This year’s edition tagged “The Sovereign God”, is borne out of the numerous wonderful and amazing testimonies that perfectly describe the life of Pastor E.A. Adeboye as what God and only God alone can do. How a little boy born into out-and-out poverty from a tiny village in the South Western part of Nigeria emerged as one of the world’s 50 most influential people in 2008 (Newsweek), and how a hopeless boy from a historically poor background was used by God to take a church with just 40 branches within Nigeria to over 20,000 branches in over 190 countries making the Church one of the fastest growing religious organizations in the world- can only be acts of God.

Marathon Messiah Praise which happens to be the world’s longest annual non-stop gospel musical event is blazing the trail this year. The programme which is aimed at expressing gratitude to God for His mercy upon the life of Pastor E.A Adeboye and creating a new pattern of Praise in this dispensation will be holding across 5 different continents in eight (8) countries ( Nigeria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, South Africa, Dubai, UK, and the USA) as men from all walks of life gather to praise and worship God for 75 hours non-stop.

Through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, Marathon Messiah Praise which is a brain child of the National Young Adults and Youth Affairs of RCCG was birthed in 2012 and started as 70 Hours Marathon Praise.

Also, Music Director, RCCG, Kunle Ajayi said; “Marathon Praise is not just a show. We selected people out of fervent prayers and God’s directory.”

“Some can’t come because of the measures we gave them.”

“With the Holy Spirit as the anchor, over 140 worship leaders will be leading millions of worshippers across the globe through the eight stages in the countries where the programme will be taking place. The main stage will be at the Youth Centre in Redemption Camp, Nigeria while other stages outside Nigeria will be satellite stages.”

Project Coordinator, 75 Hours Marathon Messiah’s Praise, Oluwafemi Oyetunde added that, considering the nature of the programme, officiating would be on a shift basis. Stages outside Nigeria will be ministering at their allocated time, there won’t be any activity on the Nigerian stage but the audience in Nigeria will join other worshippers in the other stages virtually as screens will be provided at the Youth Centre to view and join the other stages during their ministrations.”

“Preparations are on top gear we are partnering with Ultima Studios for TV production while there will be live broadcast on DOVE TV, Kingdom Africa, X2D and RTM.”

Over 1,800 persons have indicated interest to work as volunteers and thousands have registered as participants for the worship experience. There would be free accommodation and feeding for both volunteers and participants in Nigeria.

To provide succour to Nigerians, Dangote recently reduced the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from N970 to N899.50 at its Refinery loading gantry and provided generous credit terms to marketers.

“To ensure that this price reduction gets to the end consumer, we have signed a partnership with MRS to sell petrol from its retail outlets nationwide at N935 per litre” he added. This price has already commenced in Lagos, and it will be offered nationwide from Monday.

In his statement, he called on other oil marketers such as the NNPC Retail and all other marketers, “to work with us to ensure that Nigerians enjoy high-quality petrol at discounted prices.”

According to him, “The Dangote Refinery is for the benefit of Nigeria and Nigerians. We will therefore continue to work with various value chain players to deliver high quality petrol at cheaper prices. Our aim is for all Nigerians to have ready access to high quality petroleum products that are good for their vehicles, good for their health, and good for their pockets.

Recall that in September, the Federal Executive Council (FEC) under the leadership of Mr. President approved the sale of crude to local refineries in Naira and corresponding purchase of petroleum products in Naira. The move, which commenced on October 1, led to reduced pressure on the dollar and ensured the stability of the local currency.

Dangote thanked Nigerians for their unwavering support and the government for creating an enabling environment for the domestic refining industry.

NNPC Debunks Shutdown Rumors, Confirms Port Harcourt Refinery Fully Operational

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has dismissed reports circulating in certain media outlets claiming that the Old Port Harcourt Refinery, which was re-streamed two months ago, has been shut down.

In a statement released by Olufemi O. Soneye, the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd, the company clarified that the refinery is fully operational. The statement noted that the facility’s operational status was recently verified by former Group Managing Directors of NNPC during a site inspection.

“Preparation for the day’s loading operation is currently ongoing,” the statement confirmed, emphasizing that allegations of the refinery’s shutdown are baseless and intended to create panic or artificial scarcity in the fuel market.

NNPC Ltd urged members of the public to disregard such misleading reports, labeling them as the work of those seeking to exploit Nigerians.

The Old Port Harcourt Refinery has been in operation since its re-streaming, and the company remains committed to ensuring stability in the supply of petroleum products across the country.
