Property Dispute: group petitions Force Criminal Investigation Department against Mr Babatunde Wusu
By Ifeoma Ikem
A group of persons have filled a petition to the Lagos Federal Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) against Mr. Babatunde Wusu, Mrs. Otti Funke Olayinka, and CTSR Properties Limited over alleged conspiracy, impersonation, perjury, criminal trespass, fraudulent misrepresentation, and other serious offenses.
The petition was filed by solicitors to Mr. Babajide Debayo Doherty, Mrs. Abimbola Biobaku, Mrs. Funmilayo Jawando, and Svengali Designs Limited.

The petition was over a dispute of ownership of a property at Plot 60, Chief T.A. Doherty Layout, Morison Crescent, Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos State.
According to the petitioners, the accused individuals and company have committed grave criminal infractions, including diversion of funds, cheating, criminal breach of trust, malicious damage, and unruly conduct likely to cause breach of public peace.
The petitioners are seeking justice and resolution to the dispute, which has significant implications for the parties involved.
Mr. Babajide Debayo Doherty, one of the recognized beneficiaries of the estate who spoke at the briefing, averred that the land in question was part of the estate of Chief T.A. Doherty.
He said that in 2014, a 50-year sublease was issued to CTSR Properties at an unusually low rate of ₦250,000 per acre per year for the first decade amounting to only ₦445,750 for the first year.

The arrangement, he explained, was executed under questionable family dynamics and has since become the center of multiple breaches of contract.
He said that despite occupying the land, Mrs. Olayinka reportedly paid only ₦250,000 to date and went on to sublease the property to others without seeking approval from the actual landlords, a clear violation of her lease terms.
“More alarming is her alleged false claim of ownership in contracts issued to tenants.
“The conflict intensified when a group of policemen, bailiffs, and thugs accompanied by bulldozers stormed the property, forcibly ejecting tenants, dismantling parts of the warehouse, and locking out security staff.
“The order that was presented was discovered to have originated from a suspicious court judgment involving unfamiliar names, raising questions about its legitimacy”.
He said that while a police team from Alagbon was eventually deployed to regain control of the property, the accused party allegedly returned days later, this time with a larger bulldozer and a fresh group of enforcers.
He said that although some area boys were arrested, but Mrs. Olayinka remains at large and she is said to coordinate her actions under the cover of the night.
“In a high-level meeting at the AIG Zone 2, Mrs. Olayinka failed to produce any proof of family notification before reselling or subletting her lease and could not present documentation of payments received.
“Meanwhile, tenants say she continues to ignore an ongoing court case seeking to terminate her lease.
“This is not just a civil matter anymore,” one tenant said. “It’s a calculated attempt to use force to hijack private property.”
Authorities have ordered all parties to maintain status quo while investigations proceed. The property remains under police surveillance.
Repeated attempts to contact Mrs. Otti Funke Olayinka were unsuccessful, as her phone number remains unreachable.
