Protest mobilisers suspend action, Prefer Dialogue

 

A coalition of various youth groups chiefly engaged to mobilise for the #EndBadGovernance Protest slated for 1st to 10th August, 2024 have progressively unveiled plans for a National Emerging Leaders Peace, Dialogue and Prigress Confab in Abuja in place of their planned National Protest.

The heads of key Protest planning groups were assembled by the Emerging Leaders Forum of Nigeria, ELFON, led by Amb. Godstime Chukwubuikem Samuel.

 

Speaking during the Press conference on behalf of the prominent key protest planners, Godstime said, “the reason for the call for a 3 day National Peace, Dialogue and Progress Confab with the theme “NIGERIA FIRST…it’s time to get it right” lated for 31st July to 2nd August 2024 is to have select 109 Senatorial Zone youth representatives interface with 15 National Leaders and Patriots in order to come up with lofty, possible and sustainable measures that we will present to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to aide him create policies that will help redeem Nigerians from Hardship and the current economic quagmire

 

The Emerging Leaders President further stated that reports from the ELFON intelligence unit confirmed that some individuals abroad have infiltrated the planned National Protest by sponsoring some non state actors to loot warehouses, shops, homes and to attack government institutions and infrastructures.

Lending his voice, the National Speaker, Youth Assembly of Nigeria, YAN, Shuaibu Sani said that the 774 local government area speakers of YAN have concensually resolved to give President Bola Ahmed Tinubu the needed time he sort for to make Nigerians and Nigeria better.

Shuaibu said that the planned National Protest had to be called off in order to put a stop to perceived dangers that enemies of our Nation have planned to hatch while hiding under the Hunger Protest.

Other prominent organisations that had their leaders in the press conference are: Youth Federation of Nigeria, Arewa Youth Federation, O’dua Youth Assembly, Igbozurume Youth Council, Niger Delta Youth Council, North Central Youth Council, Arewa Youth Alliance for Progress and Development, Nigerian Students Parliament, FCT Youth Council, Anioma Youth Assembly Worldwide.

Yesterday, Monday, April 21st, 2025, marked a significant day in the annals of Yoruba history as the Coalition of Yoruba Youth Leaders paid a courtesy visit to the newly crowned Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty Prince Abimbola Akeem Owoade I, at his palace. The visit was a testament to the youth leaders’ commitment to unity, progress, and the preservation of Yoruba heritage.

The youth leaders were warmly received by the Alaafin himself, who greeted them with the traditional Yoruba hospitality. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation as the young leaders eagerly awaited the opportunity to pay their respects and seek guidance from the revered monarch.

The National President, Prof. Tolani .A. Hassan, Ph.D, who was present alongside his executives addressed the Alaafin, extending warm felicitations to him on his ascension to the throne. They wished His Majesty a successful tenure, praying for divine guidance, wisdom, and strength to navigate the complexities of leadership. The youth leaders expressed their commitment to supporting the Alaafin in his endeavors, promising to work together to promote the welfare and prosperity of the Yoruba race.

In response, the Alaafin offered words of wisdom and counsel to the young leaders. He emphasized the importance of unity, hard work, and dedication to the growth and development of the Yoruba nation. His Majesty charged the youth leaders to be ambassadors of peace, progress, and positivity, using their positions to inspire and uplift their communities. He also advised them to put their youthful energy, creativity, and innovation to good use, harnessing these qualities to drive development and transformation in their respective domains.

 

The meeting was productive and enlightening, with both parties exchanging ideas and insights on how to foster progress and unity among the Yoruba people. The youth leaders left the palace with a renewed sense of purpose and determination, inspired by the Alaafin’s words and guidance.

 

The visit by the Coalition of Yoruba Youth Leaders to the newly crowned Alaafin of Oyo was a resounding success, marking the beginning of a fruitful partnership between the youth and the traditional institution. The birthday bash is holding on Friday, 25th April, 2025 at No 1 Ebute Road, Unity hall, opposite Indomie house, Lau junction, Ibafo, Ogun state. Many eminent personalities and media guys are expected to grace the epoch-making event.

Mama Ibipeju is a big business woman that trades on kolanut and gold in the 80s, she’s married to the popular pastor of the C&S church world wide Most Senior Apostle Samson Ọlayiwola Afọlabi of the revered Odofin compound in IREE town,Boripe local government of Osun state .

Mama is blessed with so many children among them is the ace broadcaster and media owner , Afolabi Jolaoluwa jabulani who is the last born of the nonagenarian.

Ogun NYSC Coordinator Applauds Ijebu-Ode LG Chairman for Exemplary Support

The Ogun State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mrs. Olayinka Nasamu, has commended the Executive Chairman of Ijebu-Ode Local Government, Hon. Damilare Sikiru Alebiosu, for his unwavering commitment and consistent support for the Scheme.

Mrs. Nasamu gave the commendation during a courtesy visit to the chairman at his office in Ijebu-Ode, as part of her stakeholder engagement efforts ahead of the 2025 Batch A Stream One Orientation Course, in line with the directive of the NYSC Director General.

Speaking on behalf of NYSC management, she expressed deep appreciation for the chairman’s dedication to the welfare of Corps Members.

Mrs Nasamu noted his remarkable contributions, highlighting that he was the only council chairman who provided transportation for Corps Members posted to Ijebu-Ode following the last Orientation Course and also demonstrated strong support by attending the Cultural Carnival on short notice.

“We sincerely appreciate your generosity and passion. Your selfless support continues to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our Corps Members,” she stated.

The Coordinator also took the opportunity to introduce the new NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, and informed the chairman of the scheduled date for the commencement of the next Orientation exercise.

She appealed for continued collaboration to ensure a smooth and successful course.

In his response, Hon. Alebiosu warmly welcomed the NYSC team and reaffirmed his commitment to the Scheme.

He pledged to offer even greater support, including donating essential items to the Orientation Camp and personally attending selected Camp activities.

The visit also featured the presentation of waste bins by Corps Members to the Ijebu-Ode Local Government Secretariat as part of their Community Development Service (CDS), aimed at promoting environmental cleanliness and hygiene.

The visit reaffirmed the strong partnership between NYSC Ogun State and its key stakeholders in ensuring the safety, well-being, and productivity of Corps Members across the state.
