Suspended APC Senator Shehu Sani allegedly decamps to PDP

The leadership of the ruling party, APC, suspended one of its srong members, Shehu Sani towards the ending of last year following an issue had with Mallam Nasir El rufai.
This didn’t go down well with Shehu sani then as he was shocked and was really baffled.
Following this development, it was gathered that the baffled senator is currently making plans to quit the party to PDP.
This will cause a stir in the camp of the APC because Sani has a number of followers and supporters in the party who are likely to follow him to PDP hence reducing the number of members in the party.
In a statement issued on Friday January 22, 2016 and signed by the Kaduna State APC Assistant Publicity Secretary, Salisu Tanko Wusono, it was stated that the party has uncovered evidence of anti-party activities being perpetrated by Sani.
According to the APC spokesperson, the senator had in the series of his anti-party activities met with top chieftains of the opposition PDP in the state and received a delegation of PDP from Southern Kaduna Zone on January 16, 2016.
While justifying Sani’s suspension, Wusono reiterated that the state APC has been vindicated in its decision to suspend Sani in view of his anti-party activities aimed at undermining the APC.
This came against the backdrop of the 11-month suspension slammed on the Senator by the leadership of his ward in Tudun Wada for allegedly violating the party’s rules.
Some party members believe that the Senator was suspended over his frequent criticism of the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
The suspension had caused further crisis in the party with the acting Chairman seeking intervention from John Oyegun the National Chairman of the APC in Abuja,
On the allegation of defection, the APC accused Sani of holding meetings with the PDP: “before and after the party slammed an 11-month suspension on him, with the intention to defect.”
The statement reads: “The suspended Senator is presently meeting with chieftains of PDP in the state and working assiduously with them to organize how they can undermine the APC leadership and the government of the state.
“On 16th January, 2016, Senator Shehu Sani hosted a meeting with some PDP chieftains in the residence of one Madam Madaki.
“At the meeting, he denigrated the APC leadership and discussed his forthcoming defection to the PDP. He assured the PDP of his determination to wreck maximum damage on the APC before his defection.”
It added: “We make bold to say that Shehu Sani’s plot will fail, because the APC will only wax stronger without ill-disciplined and disloyal persons like him whose true home is the PDP.”
Post-Nigeria had on December 29, 2015 exclusively reported that sources within the PDP had completed plans to lure the comrade senator into their party.
It was reportedly gathered that the National leadership of the APC is currently making frantic effort to lure Sani back to its fold.
