Another Win For ADC In Osun State! BY Gbenga Shaba
Another Win For ADC In Osun State!
BY Gbenga Shaba
Since the coalition of parties across Nigeria adopted the African Democratic, ADC, it’s been an upward renewal of hope and aspirations for a better tomorrow in the country, most especially in Osun State.
The news that Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, who is gearing up to seek a second term in office, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to seek reelection in another unknown party is a big win for the Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola-led ADC in the state.
His resignation was announced late Monday in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, who disclosed that Adeleke had formally withdrawn his membership since November 4, 2025.
According to Rasheed, the governor’s resignation letter was addressed to the PDP chairman in Ward 2, Sagba Abogunde, Ede North Local Government Area.
Quoting from the letter, Rasheed said the governor cited the escalating crisis within the PDP’s national leadership as the reason for his decision.
“Due to the current crisis within the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), I hereby resign my membership of the PDP with immediate effect,” the letter read.
Adeleke expressed appreciation to the party for the platform through which he was elected as a senator representing Osun West and later as governor.
The statement, however, did not indicate the party Adeleke intends to join.
Reports had earlier suggested that he made attempts to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC) with alleged backing from President Bola Tinubu, but the move reportedly met resistance from the Osun APC leadership.
With the Osun governorship election scheduled for August 2026, Adeleke is now expected to seek re-election on a different party platform, which the political observers in the state see as a big win for the momentum growing among the ranks and files of ADC.
According to some observers, not only would the supporters of the Governor and members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP scatter, they will also be seeking political asylum from other parties, and with a leader that is as popular, forward-thinking, and democratic as Ogbeni Aregbesola.
ADC’s profile and integrity are growing massively in the State and people are really interested in the affairs of the State.
Just a few days ago, the paramount ruler of Osogbo land, His Royal Majesty Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun, Laroye II openly endorsed and declared for Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, and the African Democratic Congress, ADC in Osun as the state prepares for the 2026 gubernatorial election.
Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun told Ogbeni Aregbesola and all supporters of ADC, “that you have come to openly declare being in a new party with all those that followed you, means the whole of Osogbo will be behind you. No one will see me and not see Aregbe, and when you see Aregbe, you will surely see me.”
Saying, “Aregbesola’s journey this time around is different. This is because he has now come to work assiduously for the betterment of the people of Osun.
“He is one man I respect a lot, because when some naysayers were mounting pressure on him to dethrone me, he did not listen to them.
“We are not ingrates in Osogbo. Osogbo is always united when it comes to Politics.
“I’m for Aregbesola. I will never leave him. Wherever he goes, we shall follow.”
This assured support was not just from the Ataoja of Osogbo, but from one of the highest-ranking Kings in the Kingdom and a role model for many voters in Osun.

Awolowo’s Love And Abiola’s Organic Followership Reincarnate In Aregbesola’s Tour Of Osun
Awolowo’s Love And Abiola’s Organic Followership Reincarnate In Aregbesola’s Tour Of Osun
The Bible states in John 15:13, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” This verse aptly describes the recent tour of Osun State Federal Constituencies by the African Democratic Congress, ADC, ably led by Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.
Since Ogbeni Aregbesola left office as Governor of Osun State in 2018, after serving two terms from 2010 to 2018, the people of the state have been yearning, hoping, and praying for another leader of his calibre.
The past three weeks allowed me to tour the length and breadth of Osun State with the former Governor and former Interior Minister. In every Federal Constituency we visited, the mood suggested that the people were waiting for a messiah. Osun indigenes desire a compassionate leader, one who understands their needs, speaks their language, believes in social welfare, and prioritises human capital development, a leader reminiscent of the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, the revered leader of Western Nigeria.
True progressives are defined by their actions. They are not swayed by rhetoric, nor do they assign blame. They simply act. Unlike what Osun currently experiences, leaders like Obafemi Awolowo focused on policies that promoted welfare and modernisation, including free primary education and free healthcare for children under eighteen. He championed federalism, fiscal discipline, and the strategic use of state resources for social and economic development. He believed that education was essential for national progress and that the government should invest resources in social services to uplift citizens.
For nearly eight years, the general voice in Osun has been clear: the state needs another leader like Ogbeni Aregbesola, someone who puts the people first and cushions them from the hardships that have devastated businesses and livelihoods.
During his eight years as Governor, Ogbeni Aregbesola left a legacy of progressive governance marked by significant investments in infrastructure, public education, and social programs. Key accomplishments include:
Infrastructure and Urban Development
Roads: Oversaw the construction and rehabilitation of over three hundred kilometres of township roads and completed five bridges.
Education: Built 170 new schools and renovated existing ones, creating 1,694 standard classrooms.
Urban Planning: Implemented urban renewal projects in the state capital.
Education and Youth Empowerment
Opon-Imo: Distributed free electronic tablets to final-year high school students to aid their studies.
School Feeding: Introduced the Osun Elementary School Feeding Programme, providing free meals to primary school students.
Teacher Recruitment: Hired more than twelve thousand teachers to strengthen the education system.
Youth Empowerment: Launched the Osun Youth Empowerment Scheme, creating twenty thousand jobs for young people within its first one hundred days.
Training: Provided free tailoring training for three thousand youths and sent thirty unemployed youths to Germany for modern agricultural training.
Social Programs and Health
Health: Upgraded nine state hospitals, with the State Hospital at Asubiaro transformed into a specialist facility.
Elderly Care: Provided monthly stipends and healthcare for the elderly and indigent.
Free Health Insurance: Extended free health insurance to over thirty thousand pensioners and performed free surgeries for over sixty thousand residents.
Agriculture and Economic Development
Agriculture: Established farm settlements to train unemployed graduates and sold affordable fertilisers to farmers.
Market Development: Built modern markets to support traders.
Job Creation: Created over twenty thousand jobs through youth empowerment programs and other initiatives.
Since his departure in 2018, Osun has struggled with ineffective leadership. This explains why Ogbeni Aregbesola’s tour of Osun Federal Constituencies as General Secretary of the African Democratic Congress was warmly received. The love from his people was organic. They truly desire the return of his style of leadership.
The tour began at Ifedayo, Ila, Boluwaduro Federal Constituency, where thousands of supporters and party leaders gathered at the ancient palace of the Orangun of Ila Orangun, Oba Wahab Kayode Adedeji Oyedotun Bibiire I, to welcome the former Governor. Ogbeni Aregbesola noted that critical sectors of governance, including security, infrastructure, education, and the economy, have deteriorated.
“When your people are hungry and suffering, and you do not show compassion, you cannot claim to be an Omoluabi. Awolowo and our other founding fathers would not be pleased seeing Nigeria in this state,” he declared. From Ila Orangun, the tour continued to Ayedaade, Irewole, and Isokan Federal Constituency in the ancient town of Ikire.
From the Naira and Kobo junction to Obada Market, the Akire’s palace, and Sango, residents turned out in large numbers to show love, solidarity, and support for the party and its leader. From Ikire, the tour proceeded to Obokun and Oriade Federal Constituency in Ijebu-Jesa, where a similar outpouring of love and belief in the ADC was witnessed.
“Aregbesola’s journey this time is different. He has come to work assiduously for the betterment of the people of Osun. I am for Aregbesola and will never leave him. Wherever he goes, we shall follow,” declared His Royal Majesty Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun, Laroye II, Ataoja of Osogbo, as he endorsed Ogbeni Aregbesola and the ADC during the Osogbo, Olorunda, Irepodun, and Orolu Federal Constituency leg of the tour.
Oba Oyetunji emotionally expressed his support for Ogbeni Aregbesola, declaring that he would follow him wherever he goes. From the Ataoja’s Palace, the tour continued through Oke Fia, Osogbo Grammar School, the NUJ Secretariat along Dada Estate, to the Government Technical College open field, where thousands of indigenes and residents gathered under the scorching sun to hear words of hope, social welfare initiatives, and human capital development plans from Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.
The reception across the state clearly demonstrates the organic love and unwavering commitment of Nigerians to restoring good governance. It also highlights the widespread dissatisfaction with the current administration, whose policies have worsened hunger, poverty, and insecurity. Osun is ready for meaningful change, the kind that the ADC and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola represent.

Budget 2026: Obasa charges lawmakers to be thorough, transparent during review
Budget 2026: Obasa charges lawmakers to be thorough, transparent during review
Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Mudashiru Obasa, has charged his colleague-lawmakers to be thorough and transparent as they embark on a review of the 2026 Appropriation Bill presented to the House by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu last Tuesday.
Obasa spoke during a three-day budget retreat of the Assembly, holding at the Park Inn by Radisson, Abeokuta, Ogun State, from November 26 to 28. The retreat, themed “Budget of Shared Prosperity: Enhancing Accountability and Transparency in Lagos State Budget Process”, was attended by all lawmakers, select legislative staff, and senior aides of the Speaker.
Speaker Obasa said with the formal presentation of the ‘Budget of Shared Prosperity’ by Governor Sanwo-Olu, “It now behoves you, as representatives of the people, to do your job with clinical efficiency, empathy, diligence, self-awareness, transparency, and conviction. The governor has done everything to convince us that they have done a thorough job on the Budget, but it is left to the Assembly to decide how we will go about appropriating the state’s resources to align with the demands and aspirations of every Lagosian.”
Obasa further stated that he firmly believed that waste of scarce resources can be curbed if lawmakers perform their oversight functions effectively. “But when you pretend like you don’t see what you are supposed to see in the budget or you allow your palms to be greased, don’t forget, you are going back home; you are going back to that community that you didn’t defend or protect its interest when it was important to do so. And it is at home that your political fate will be decided. Let us do what is expected of us, and we will get it right,” he said.
The annual offsite budget retreat, which reflects Obasa’s insistence on a people-centric budget, aims to review and analyse, and ensure the timely passage of the state’s appropriation bill.
Among the resource persons at the retreat were Mr Olufemi Orojimi, the Director of Budget, Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget, who spoke on ‘Understanding the 2026 Appropriation Strategy: Insights from 2025 Budget Performance and Implementation Caps’; Dr Muda Yusuf, Founder/CEO, Centre for the Promotion of Private Enterprise, who did justice to his papers on ‘An overview of the Medium Term Expenditure Framework’ and Improving legislative Oversight for Budget Implementation: The strategic role of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
With the smoothness of a hot knife through butter, Yomi Olugbenro, West Africa Tax Leader at Deloitte, discussed ‘Navigating Nigeria’s New Tax Regime: Roles and Responsibilities of the Legislature.’ Other facilitators were Muhammad Sani Abdullahi, Director/Clerk, Senate Public Accounts Committee; Olusegun Mojeed, the immediate past president/chairman, Board of Fellows, CIPM Nigeria; and Ifeanyi Peter, National Team Leader, Partnership for Agile Governance and Climate Engagement.

How Primate Ayodele Accurately Foretold Coup In Guinea-Bissau Few Weeks Ago (VIDEO)
*How Primate Ayodele Accurately Foretold Coup In Guinea-Bissau Few Weeks Ago (VIDEO)
If there is anyone who still doubts Primate Elijah Ayodele after the unexpected coup that rocked Guinea-Bissau on Wednesday, it simply means such a person has personal issues, not just with the prophet but with God himself.
Military officers in Guinea-Bissau have taken control of the government, suspended the country’s electoral process and declared they will be in control “until further notice”.
On Monday, President Umaro Embaló, who is seeking re-election, and Fernando Dias, his main opponent, both declared victory in the country’s election even though the electoral commission had not released official results.
However, later on Wednesday, Embaló told Jeune Afrique that he was arrested at around 1 pm in his office at the presidential palace.
The coup leaders issued a communique, claiming the “High Military Command for the Restoration of National Security and Public Order” was reacting to a destabilisation plot “put in place by certain national politicians with the participation of [a] well-known drug baron,” according to the Africa Report.
This coup development happened as though Primate Ayodele wrote the script, which is just being followed by the perpetrators because he was too accurate with his prophetic warning regarding the development.
The prophet first mentioned it earlier this month in a warning to the president of the country, letting him know that the presidential election can trigger a military action if care isn’t taken. He specifically warned the president to ensure that he accepts the outcome of the election, even if he loses, because the country is in a military action.
These were his words:
“In Guinea-Bissau, there is going to be an election, but if there is a coalition and the president tries to rig the election, the country will turn to fire. There will be anarchy, and the impossible coup can be possible. To the president, if you lose this election, just leave. Don’t force yourself because you will fail”.

Apart from this, which he said during a live service in his church, Primate Ayodel, on November 11, in a series of prophecies to some African nations, mentioned that in Guinea-Bissau, there will be a military action.
He specifically warned that the president will not be reckoned with and that the president must be ready to do anything to stabilise the country because there will be a crisis.
These were his words:
“Guinea-Bissau: The country isn’t yet settled, there is still a crisis in the nation because they are going to be fighting seriously. The president will not be reckoned with, and the military will carry out another action. The president must be ready to do anything to stabilise the country because I see a crisis in Guinea.”

These prophecies are exactly a direct representation of the coup situation in Guinea-Bissau, and it’s mysterious that a man whose church is domiciled in Nigeria could accurately reveal what would happen in a far-away country like that; certainly, it’s God speaking through his vessel.
However, this isn’t the first time Primate Ayodele would be sharing such a prophecy that would have a striking fulfilment as this; he is renowned for being the only prophet to have foretold the coups in Niger, Mali, Guinea, Burkina Faso, to mention but a few.
He was also the only prophet to foretell the crisis in Madagascar that saw the president exiting the nation, the surprising election outcome in Botswana, Seychelles, and some nations that have held elections this year.
Also, the crisis between the president of Senegal, Bassirou Diomaye Faye and the prime minister, Ousmane Sonko, which no one expected, was prophesied by Primate Ayodele immediately after the election, on which he also foretold the outcome.
Likewise, the death of Raila Odinga, the opposition leader in Kenya, was foretold by Primate Ayodele in his new year prophecies for 2025, released in December 2024.
There are several mysterious prophecies Primate Ayodele has shared, and the one on Guinea-Bissau has successfully added to the list.
