Bollywood Honors Lancelot Imasuen As The Most Impactful Filmmaker In Africa- Nollywood industry has gotten another boost internationally with the Award For Excellence In Cinema, to one of African greatest movie maker, Ambassador Lancelot Oduwarene Imasuen by the Marwah Studios International New Delhi India.

 

 

The award that came all the way from New Delhi, the capital city of India, the home of Bollywood that is the second largest movie industry in the world just behind Hollywood is a great testimony of how impactful the veteran filmmaker has been in Africa for the past 25 years.

 

 

 

The International Film and Television Club, 13th Global Film Festival Noida 2020, decided to honor Lancelot as the most deserving Nigerian filmmaker and entertainer in an award ceremony that was held online yesterday, Friday November 27, 2020 at 5:00 PM Indian standard time.

 

 

Lancelot, who is still basking in the euphoria of being listed among the 60 entertainment icons to have shaped the entertainment industry in Nigeria in the past 60 years, is surely one of the greatest Nigerian image maker in the make believe world with over 100 outstanding awards from the international communities.

 

 

Sandeep Marwah, Festival President and President Marwah Studios, who has been showing special delight in the veteran filmmaker’s jobs, said; “This year the Managing Committee of ICMEI instituted an international award for eminent personalities who have made a mark in film making, production, direction, acting or any technical field associated with the film industry.”

 

 

 

“The committee therefore nominated Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen and decided to honour him with the Marwah Studios International Award for Excellence in Cinema.”

 

 

 

He said from international chamber of media and entertainment industry and Marwah studios, ICMEI hosts four major festivals annually related to the fields of journalism, fashion, literary thoughts and the most important of them, the Global Film Festival, Noida which is celebrating its 13th anniversary this year from 26th to 28th November, 2020.

 

 

 

The 13th GFFN featured workshops, seminars, book releases followed by award ceremonies.

Speaking on the award, Lancelot told Omonaijablog.com that, “its a honor to be recognized as the only filmmaker across Africa at NOIDA 2020. India has the second largest film distribution company on the world and to be honored their speaks a lot about Nollywood. I’m also happy because its coming during the celebration of my 25-years behind the camera anniversary.”
