ETI-OSA EAST LCDA ON A MISSION TO CLEAR THE STREET OFF CRIMINALITIES
As part of its agenda on security, the Eti-Osa East Local Council Development Area under the able leadership of Hon. John Campos Ogundare has been storming different flashpoints and hideouts of criminals within Eti-Osa and its environs to clear the street off any form of criminalities.
The chairman and his council team in collaboration with security operatives including the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), on Thursday, stormed Thomas Junction along Ado Road axis of the council to clear off shanties and purported criminal hideouts in the area.
The operation saw to the arrest of 18 street urchins most of whom are of Niger nationalities. They were caught in their hideouts with several stolen items such as new car tyres, tokunbo car engines, gears, speakers and other valuables.
Two other criminally minded individuals were handed over to the NDLEA officials for being in possession of illicit drugs.
The Chairman, Hon. Ogundare, has often said that he would leave no stone unturned to ensure that Eti-Osa East LCDA and its environs is rescued from being the abode of criminals and their activities. This he said is in line with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu ‘s T.H.E.M.E.S agenda on security and governance.
He further said that the operation would, therefore, be a continuous exercise until every form of criminality is ward off in the local council and its environs.
Meanwhile, that the exercise is the second in the series of action to clean up Eti-Osa East LCDA from criminal activities.
The shanties which serve as the abode of criminals and their loots were demolished and the site was cleared and fenced to avoid any form of resettlement by criminals.
