Family Cries To Governor Dapo Abiodun Over Invasion Of Property
Osoribiya Atobatele Royal Family has called on Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun CON, to save them from a powerful man who they alleged had confiscated the little portion left for them after the State Government has acquired over 300 Hectares of landed property belonging to their Family.
The family’s representative, in a petition to the government, stated: “I am compelled by my family to draw your attention to the criminal invasion of our family property by a powerful man who claimed to be the Director of Estate at Ogun State Investment Corporation (OPIC)
According to him, Osoribiya Atobatele Royal Family were the owner of large expanse of land located along Lagos/Ibadan Express Way Starting from where New Makun City located to where OPIC ESTATE is situated.
The Government acquired over 300 Hectares of Land around 2006 from Osoribiya Atobatele Royal Family. There were some portion that our family has sold to people. By the time the land was acquired the portion were left out of the land allocated to OPIC, which the survey clearly showed.
The little portion that was not part of the land allocated to OPIC by the Government was the one our fathers have sold to someone. We are not contending the over 300 hectares acquired by the State Government. Even our fathers are aware that the little portion of land falls within 2 kilometre acquisition corridor and the buyer knew that he will pay ratification to the Government.
*To our dismay Mr. Olusola Abijo, The Director of Estate at OPIC with the support of Mr. TokunboTalabi the Secretary to the State Government brought one Mr. Yemi Idowu the CEO of Aircom Nig. Ltd. who has a lot of cases of land grabbing in Lagos and even Ogun State to forcibly took over the land and demolish all structure erected on the land by our client*
“The demolished structure is on the 4 Acres of land that
Osoribiya Atobatele Royal Family sold to our client. We are shocked to discover that an unknown developer had, without our consent, demolished the building and other visible structures with the assistance of Director of Estate OPIC, Mr Olusola Abijo who brought security men on the land.
“We are appealing to our able governor to wade into the matter and stop Mr Olusola Abijo of OPIC. So that Your Excellency can hear from the two sides to determine who owns the land. We have no powers to fight as we rely on legal means to fight our battle. We solemnly appeal to *Your Excelency to help us find a lasting solution to this cheating on our family*
Kindly assist us.”
