June 12 : MKO Abiola’s family Visit Tinubu over new democracy day declaration

President Muhammadu Buhari declared June 12 as the new democracy day in Nigeria, a date that was normally used to celebrate deceased Nigerian Philanthropist, MKO Abiola.

President Buhari made it known that June 12, 1993 election which MKO Abiola won up till this moment remains the freest and fairest election so far in the country and it is more significant as the democracy day than May 29 .
 

As a result of this development, The family of the deceased Politician, MKO Abiola on Sunday, 9th of June, 2018 visited the National Leader of the All Progressive congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to thank him for ensuring MKO Abiola’s name is honoured
