Sahara Weekly Reports That TY Buratai Academy beat city rivals Gwange United on penalties to win the Win the Sarkin Yakin Garkuwan Keffi Football Competition in August 27 Stadium Damaturu in a dramatic and fiercely-fought match.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The essence of the competition was to celebrate Governor Mai Mala Buni and the APC family Victory during the just concluded general Election as well as a way of appreciating his great plan for the development of youth in the state

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The competition is solely sponsored by the indigenous Son of Yusufari Local Government of Yobe state Engr Hassan Muhammad Sarkin Yakin Garkuwan Keffi, Matawallen Arewa.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

You will recall that 13 teams participated in competition were Gwange United and TY Buratai Academy qualified for the Final Match

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sarkin Ado lashed home the winning kick from the spot to make it 7-6 to Los Blancos after the contest had finished 0-0 with neither side able to find the net in full time.

 

 

 

 

 

TY Buratai Academy Goalkeeper Ezekiel was voted Player of the Match in the final by the technical team, who praised the goalkeeper’s “crucial saves at critical moments during the game. He also made an extraordinary save to deny opponents at the final kick of the penalty shootout ”Tumultuous crowd hits August 27 Stadium Damaturu on sunday to watch the final match.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Gift was awarded after the final whistle, 1st position goes home with trophy Jessy, Football and One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000) and also Gold Medal to the Players and crews while 2nd Position goes with Trophy, Football, Jessy, Fifty Thousand Naira (N50,000) and Silver Medal to the Players and Crews, 3rd Position goes home with Jessy and Football.
