The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has appointed Ogun state born top football administrator and Chairman Ogun state chapter of Alliance for Social Democrats (ASD), Prince Adeyemi Adeyinka, as the welfare offcer of the Nigeria national under-20 team (Flying Eagles).
Before his appointment, Adeyemi has worked with A-list Premiership teams like Sunshine stars football club of Akure, Lobi stars FC of Makurdi and stationary Stores FC of Lagos.
On the political front, Adeyinka is a member of the Ogun state chapter of Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC). IPAC is the umbrella of political parties in Nigeria.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, the elated Adeyemi commended the Chairman House Committee on Sports, Hon. Olumide Osoba for his giant strides at the Green Chamber, for being a good sporting ambassador and ensuring that sporting activities are revamped at all levels.
“This is a call to serve my fatherland and I won’t let the NFF down. I want to sincerely appreciate the NFF for giving me the platform to serve my fatherland, he said.
He further noted that Hon. Osoba has in no small measure exhibited, a role worthy of emulation for Nigerian youths, through his numerous incorporation of youths in sporting events, both in administration and empowerment.
He also thanked the NFF for the confindence reposed in him, promising to discharge his duties with utmost commitment.
The flying Eagles are currently camping in Abuja in preparation for the West Africa Football Union (WAFU) competition in Benin Republic next month.
His appointment takes immediate effect.
