OYOYO 2023/2024 Ugwuoba football tournament kicks off Dec. 26

All is set for the kick off of the 2023/2024 edition of the Ugwuoba football tournament scheduled to take place December 26, 2023 at Ugwuoba, Oji River Local Government Area, Enugu State.

The year’s edition sponsored by Chief Sunny Levi Ikwumeleze, OYOYO Man Global, Obelechukwu ndi Igbo n’ Federal Republic of Ghana, Ozoigbo ndu n’ Ghana is tagged OYOYO Football tournament.

The Secretary General of Ugwuoba Development Union (UDU) Dr Uche Chukwuemeka disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.

He said that the participating teams will be drawn from the 17 villages of the town or from the four autonomous communities of Ugwuoba.

“The winner will go home with cash prizes and other consolation materials during a dinner to mark the finale of the tournament.

“This event will help put the Ugwuoba Youths Football tournament on progressive pedestal which is aimed at empowering youths through football match.

He said that Chief Innocent Ndidi Madukaife aka Bus-stop Global, Igwemmiri sumo, was the pioneer sponsor of the tournament.

“Madukaife saw the need to properly channel energies of the youths into something positive for their progress and help alleviate poverty.

He thanked all the past sponsors of the tournament for their inestimable efforts, sacrifices and commitments to the peaceful unification of UDU.

“We thank Chief Innocent Madukanife, Hon.Harrison Okeke, the past Chairman of Oji River LGA and Hon Bar Frank Udemuezue immediate past Chairman of the Oji River local government who brought freshness, vigor, and revitalization into the tournament.

“We are also grateful to a Man created for ndi Ugwuoba, NZE CHIMAOBI DAVID (Aka ji Ofor) who singlehandedly hosted 2022/2023 edition, Chief Chinonso John Maduakor aka Titi camara.

“Chief Sunny Levi Ikwumeleze aka Sunny Best International WA LTD Obelechukwu ndi igbo n’ Federal republic of Ghana, Ozoigbo ndu n’Ghana who changed the UDU Ugwuoba youths football tournament narration by donating tournament cup with cash prizes and other consolations items for this unique edition of 2023/2024.

He added that at the end of the OYOYO YOUTHS football tournament there will be dinner night where the next sponsor will be unveiled.
