Popular Businesswoman Adebisi Edionseri, Known as “Cash Madam,” Passes Away at 89

Renowned socialite and businesswoman, Princess Kadijat Abike Adebisi Edionseri, popularly known as “Cash Madam,” has passed away at the age of 89. She died on Sunday, January 5, 2025, after a brief illness in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, according to reports by Platform Times.

The sad news of her passing was confirmed in a statement released on behalf of the family by one of her children, Dr. Adebayo Adebowale. The statement paid tribute to her remarkable life, highlighting her contributions to her family and community as a paragon of grace, dignity, and faith.

“With deep gratitude to Allah for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Princess Kadijat Abike Adebisi Edionseri (née Elegbede), who returned to her creator on January 5, 2025, at the age of 89, following a brief illness.

“Her life was a shining example of grace, dignity and unwavering faith. Princess Edionseri touched the lives of many through her wisdom, kindness and dedication to both her family and her community. She taught us the importance of love, resilience, and faith in Allah, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire generations.

“As we grieve this monumental loss, we also celebrate the remarkable life she lived. Her laughter, warmth, and the values she instilled will forever remain in our hearts, guiding us as we navigate life without her physical presence,” the statement partly read.

Princess Edionseri was known for her immense contributions to business and philanthropy, making a lasting impact on countless lives in her community. Her family and those who knew her remember her as a source of inspiration and a matriarch whose influence will endure for years to come.

In accordance with Islamic rites, Princess Edionseri will be laid to rest on Monday, January 6, 2025. The burial will take place at 4 PM at her residence in the Abeokuta Government Residential Area of Ogun State.

The family has requested privacy during this time of mourning and has expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love and support from friends, associates, and well-wishers.
