Speaker Obasa Presents Vehicles To Lagos Assembly Senior Staff

The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, has presented official vehicles to staff of the Assembly in the directorship cadre.

The presentation of the cars is the second in a row coming a few weeks after some senior staff were handed the keys to their own cars as part of the efforts of the leadership of the House to bolster productivity and service delivery to the legislative arm and the state.

The beneficiaries include directors and deputy directors across the various departments and units that make up the Assembly.

Speaking concerning the presentation at the Assembly complex, Dr. Obasa said the occasion marked an important landmark in the determination to ensure effectiveness, encourage productivity and hard-work and support the need to have a conducive work environment for the staff.

The Speaker noted that the Lagos State House of Assembly has become a yardstick for measuring legislative prowess and excellence due largely to the result-oriented focus of the staff and management.

“As a result of this, it is just necessary to boost this efficiency and keep the Assembly up there as the perfect example of legislative effectiveness that it has become in our democratic Nigeria.

“We cannot falter or step down from the successes we have achieved so far. The Lagos State House of Assembly has created that pathway in this democracy for the smooth running of the society.

“We want to continue to have a House of Assembly that does not only have a conducive environment, but with staff who are always eager to meet the needs of Lagosians through inputs in pro-people legislation for which the House is poised.

“It is pleasing to say that the vehicles would help the beneficiaries meet official needs and tasks and enhance our collective goals of making Lagos better each day,” he said.

In his response to the presentation of the vehicles to the staff, the Clerk of the House, Barr. Olalekan Onafeko, commended the positive outlook and welfare-oriented posture of the leadership of the Assembly headed by Speaker Obasa.

Barr. Onafeko, who doubles as Head of Service of the Assembly, said the vehicle would enhance productivity and encourage passion and commitment among the staff.

NASRE Foundation’s Third Outreach Empowers Journalists, Advocates Insurance And Financial Diversification

The Nigerian Association of Social and Resourceful Editors (NASRE) Foundation has provided financial support to ailing veteran journalists and the families of deceased journalists while emphasizing the importance of insurance investments and diversified income streams.

The media outreach event, which marked the foundation’s third edition, took place on Thursday at the Blue Roof, Lagos Television Premises. The initiative brought together media practitioners, corporate sponsors, and legal and financial experts to address the pressing challenges faced by journalists in Nigeria.

Speaking at the event, the President of NASRE Foundation, Mr. Femi Oyewale highlighted the foundation’s mission to support journalists in need. Represented by the Vice President of the foundation, Mr. Idumonza Isidahomhen, Oyewale noted that the beneficiaries were drawn from various states and media organizations across the country.

“The foundation was established out of a deep passion for addressing the challenges faced by media professionals,” Oyewale stated. “This outreach marks the third edition of our empowerment initiative. We are driven by compassion and a desire to support journalists who face numerous challenges. Journalism as a profession is often underappreciated, with little reward for those who practice it diligently.”

He added that this year’s program incorporated lectures on health, insurance, and creating additional income streams to help mitigate the risks and uncertainties faced by journalists, particularly after retirement.

The sponsors of the outreach included NSIA Foundation, MediaCraft, Lagos Television, and the Royal Iwere Foundation, whose contributions were instrumental in supporting the beneficiaries.

The Managing Director of NSIA Insurance, Mr. Moruf Apampa, represented by the Head of Research and Product Development, Mr. Murtala Hammed, commended NASRE Foundation for its vision. “We strive to ensure that, regardless of challenges, our customers and partners can still find reasons to smile. NSIA Insurance is committed to being a dependable partner through both good and bad times,” he remarked.

Other notable contributions came from Mr. Damilola Towobola, a lawyer, who applauded the foundation’s efforts and pledged health insurance for three beneficiaries. He also emphasized the importance of ethical journalism and accurate reporting, urging journalists to verify their sources diligently.

Additionally, Mr. Gbenga Shaba, a media consultant, stressed the necessity of multiple income streams for journalists. He highlighted the importance of financial literacy in ensuring a stable future for media professionals.

The outreach benefitted over 20 individuals, including ailing journalists, widows, widowers, and other vulnerable members of the media community. Participants lauded the initiative, with many describing it as a lifeline for those struggling with the economic and health challenges often associated with the profession.

NASRE Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to empowering journalists, with plans to scale up future outreach programs and reach more beneficiaries across the country.

For subsequent outreach, the Foundation called on corporate organizations, public and private institutions and individuals across strata to extend both material and financial supports to the Foundation so that more media practitioners with varying degrees of challenges can be supported.

It is essential to illustrate, without resorting to sensationalism or witch-hunts, the intimate and cordial relationship between celebrated World Televangelist Prophet Israel Oladele Ogundipe, fondly referred to as Genesis, and a proactive, renewed Abuja-based lawyer and human rights activist, Oluwapelumi Jacob Olajengbesi

Evidently, this positions everyone to believe any assertion Prophet Oladele makes about Olajengbesi. As the well-known Lagos prophet briefed the media in Lagos, he spoke about what attracted him to the Abuja-based lawyer and human rights activist.

He further expressed that his passion for championing the cause of the less privileged and the oppressed is what truly captivates and inspires his unwavering love.

According to Prophet Israel Oladele Ogundipe, Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi earns his enduring respect and admiration for prioritizing the plight of the oppressed, despite being born into affluent circumstances with humble beginnings.

Olajengbesi reportedly embarked on studying law at a prestigious university, driven by his desire to challenge oppressors and individuals who wield significant power in the country, believing themselves to be above challenge.

In addition, Prophet Genesis extols the virtues of the esteemed Barrister Olajengbesi, who views himself as an advocate for the voiceless populace and a crusader for the authentic liberation of the people.

In addition to his praise, Prophet Genesis values his love for God and humanity, and also extended congratulations to Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi, co-founder of Law Corridor, a law firm based in Abuja, on the launch of his new multi-millionaira chambers

He concluded by saying a heartfelt prayer that Barrister Pelumi will continue to grow and have a greater impact in Jesus’ name.
