Roseline Okonkwo is one of the few fashion designers trained in NOUN University doing well in Nigeria.

 

 

 

 

This very attractive and glamorous woman who is endowed with brilliance is the chief Executive Officer, Rosy unique Designs is a leading creative fashion designer in Lagos, Nigeria, she offers women, men, kids, schools and other corporate organizations the best in terms of fashion, branding and print designs.

 

 

 

 

 

She hinted us on what inspired her love for fashion and branding, ” I love fashion right from my teenager, to the extent that I replaced to study Law for Fashion at the OPEN University. Infact, I have passion for it since I was a teenager, my late aunt was a sowing mistress to the extent that I used to see her after school hours, to see how she was doing it.

 

 

After her Primary and secondary schools education, she worked at Neraga Fashion House, Awka to upgrade herself and later relocated to Lagos, to join Ginani Fashion House,
she established herself professionally in 2015.

Sharing her challenges with us, Roseline said ” it has not been easy, even up till now,we still face some challenges on how to manage some customers, because they are not patient enough, if I see that I’m not able to meet up with the day I give them to pick up their works, I will call them to reschedule the day, and if the client can’t be patient enough, I will have to work at night to avoid disappointment”.
Other challenges she is facing includes taking measurements of her clients in diasporas, according to her, her clients abroad will just take measurements and sent to her, and after working with it, and it’s not accurate, she will need to call them on video call to take the measurements on video again and be sure of their accuracy.” Customers satisfaction is our watchword…to meet up with clients date, to avoid disappointment and to also make our clients happy, we work overnight but normally, we work 24/7 because we have numerous staff that do shifting on a daily basis” .

For branding, a client approached her if she could sew school uniforms, and she noticed at a point that after sowing, she needed to do branding, which she normally sublet, until when she got a contract from NACA to produce 2,000 pieces of reflective jackets, she took the step to buy the monogramming machines for mass productions and the rest is history.

Her hobby is to create unique designs, while her mentor in the fashion lines is Vid James.

Rose Unique Fashion also deals in sales of local and foreign fabrics.

On her marital life, Roseline met her hubby in Lagos, ” I met my husband in Lagos when I needed something somewhere and he ended up directing me on how to go about what I needed to do and from there, one thing led to another, and today we are happily married with kids to the glory of God”.

However, Roseline described her husband as the pillar of her business, ” My husband is very supportive to my business, he supports me financially and morally”.

Meanwhile, Roseline Okonkwo narrated to us that life has not been fair to her just like every other persons, as she lost her father at a very tender age, and has to struggle all byself to become somebody in life. “At my teenage years, I have lived in many places and worked as maid in some places to keep body and souls together, but glory be to God, that saw me through this hardship periods.

On her best meals, she likes rice and stew.

She appreciates her clients for believing in her for their patronage, and referral. She promised not to disappoint them.
