Showcasing Astronomic Achievements of Nigeria’s Most Sought-After Actress, Amandla Ebeye

Amandla Ebeye is a superb actress who has redefined the Nollywood industry. She is very active in all characters presented to her. Today, she stands tall as one of the most quintessential and dynamic movie stars in Nigeria. Managed by CMC Media led by Africa’s Most Prolific P.R.& Media Strategist Amb. Cornell Udofia who has a track Record in Promoting and managing super stars both in Nigeria and the Diaspora, this lady is flying very high, representing the Nigerian brand and performing expertly in her line of duty.

To be factual, Amandla Ebeye is from Ika Local Government Agbor Delta State and she commenced her career as a model due to her beauty and structure which every modeling agency admired. This was in the year 2006. The journey to prominence started right in front of her mother’s shop in Benin, Albridal by a modeling agency named Apple House.

What a fantastic lady and very gorgeous in all ramifications, Amandla has inspired quite a lot of Nigerian young girls to be focused on their careers and maintain very high standards of living. She is gradually stepping into the steps of the likes of Monalisa Chinda, Genevieve Nnaji and others and she is even there in their level.

A graduate of the prestigious Benson Idahosa University where she came out in flying colours, making the best of results in International Studies and Diplomacy, Amandla remains one of the very few educated actresses Nigeria can boast of.

As someone who knows what she wants for her life, Amandla left Benin, Edo State to Lagos for greener pastures and thank God, her dreams and desires came through. She became the face of Brands like United Bank of Africa, Unity Bank, Calypso, Etisalat, just to mention a few, working with Apple House.

As a very rugged and committed girl, Amandla began to seek acting jobs and was Introduced to the National Theatre in Iganmu Lagos where she met her best friend and business partner till date Aret Edet.

Aret Edet is another serious personality who wants the best for herself. She immediately ensured that they both attended auditions together and usually were always picked. This is due to the artistic prowess they were blessed with. Amandla saw this as an opportunity to kick-start a career that will take her to the greatest height in Nollywood.

This lovely actress took all her time to concentrate on making the best of whatever character was presented to her in every script she was cast in and till date, sha remains one of the most responsible female actors in Nigeria.

It was in one of the auditions Amandla encountered Charles Inojie who was directing a movie she was cast in.

Charles Inojie advised Amandla to keep coming for auditions because she was very talented.

Amandla’s first movie ever was a movie called “Weeping Tiger” directed by Valuchi and after that Amandla did some other movies before she clinched the role of Nurse Abigail in Paul Igwe’s Clinic matters which was life changing for the actress as she was the most loved in the sitcom.

The attention became so much and she was stopped everywhere as she was greatly loved.

Amandla Ebeye exited the sitcom after 39 episodes due to some disagreements with timing between herself and the director.

Amandla also left for Ghana to feature in Ifeanyi Onyeabor’s hit film tribe which earned her a best actress nomination at the NAFCA awards USA.

After that Amandla became unstoppable, she starred in “Governor’s babe” a movie produced by Uche Mbunabo and this earned her a best New actress nomination at the ZAFFAA awards UK.

Amandla was also nominated for The Nigerian Entertainment award USA, Best of Nollywood Awards, City people award. Amandla won the Classic media merit awards CAMA and Garden city Fashion awards.

Amandla went on to star in so many TV series like Super story, This life, Extended family and also did movies like Promise beyond, Tribe just to mention a few.

In 2016 Amandla birthed her first son in Canada Chukwunyem.

In 2018 She graduated as a director From Trebas Film Institute Canada and Produced a short film Horros which she starred in with her Son. Same 2018 she produced and partly directed the sitcom “It’s a crazy world”. This movie went on to be the number one series on Netflix Nigeria for 11 consecutive weeks and it also did well on Silverbird, TVC, NTA.

Amandla also had great support from Ifunaya Obiakor of Dano Milk who sponsored It’s a crazy world.

Amandla also produced and partly directed the series 30s single and bored which premiered on an African magic showcase.

As Amandla continued to grow older in life she rediscovered and re-invented herself in so many ways. One of which was changing the latin name Amanda to an African name, Amandla. Amandla chose the name Amandla because not only was it closer to her former name Amanda, it was also a chant spoken by a person she has always admired and looked up to as a Model, Nelson Mandela.

Amandla is a Xhosa word meaning power. Amandla is pro-African and believes strongly that our culture and identity should remain with us and strongly imbedded in our children no matter the part of the world we find ourselves.

On October 5th 2021 Amandla got married to her cousin Godwin’s best friend whom the family lost in 2020 in a ghastly car accident. The pain of losing her cousin and the pain of her husband losing his best friend brought both closer and both got married at quiet registry wedding in Ikoyi Nigeria.

Amandla and her spouse welcomed their Second son Oje on April 7th of 2024. April 20th 2025 Amandla launched her own YouTube channel which she hopes would be a strong platform to showcase her work and also enlighten and teach young girls the importance of loving themselves. In her own words: “I grew up believing everything black was inferior and everything white was top notch and authentic. We cannot let our children think that way. From cradle, they need to understand how great they are and that when they walk in a room they must command that space. If I am able to teach the kids right, things like bleaching their skin would be a thing that will never happen in their generation, wigs might gradually stop being a major investment. My platform I would use to teach the truth. Life is short, June 30th 2024 I lost my brother in law and my best friend. Life became very gloomy, all my plans and my purpose began to gradually fade. I decided to wake myself up and re-educate myself about my purpose on Earth”, concluded the multiple awards winning actress,
Amandla.

Amandla has performed wonderfully in movies such as Finding Odera (2023), Odera
Seeking Solace (2022) – Alice Omotola, The Other Side (2021), Teni
It’s a Crazy World (2020 TV Series), Melekwe
Inbred (2018) – Calista
It’s Her Day [9] (2016) , Nancy, Tongue (2014) , Florence

A Champion of the People: Hon.(Arc) Salman Idiris FNIA

A Champion of the People: Hon.(Arc) Salman Idiris FNIA

By Babajide Obafemi

Hon. SALMAN IDIRIS embodies legislative excellence, one who has consistently demonstrated unwavering dedication to the people he represents. With an unshakeable commitment to open, responsive, and responsible governance, he has established himself as an apostle of empowerment and a champion of his constituents’ interests.

I have known him for a while, but I had the closest contact during the last election. I was the media head of the late Olobatoke Olaiya Michael (OMO) campaign team. He was in PDP with us, and he and OMO contested the primaries where OMO carried the day. He wasn’t satisfied with the election, and having believed in himself, he left for ADC, where, again, we contested against each other, and he carried the day this time. It was an election of two halves.

In the run of the election, either pre-, during or post-election, he carried himself like a thorough leader with no airs around him. He was ready, just like OMO, to accept what outcome the election brought; at the end, he won; OMO, in turn, didn’t challenge the result; the rest is history now.

May God bless the spirit and family of the late, great Olaiya Michael Olobatoke.

I would describe Architect Idirs Salman as “A Trailblazer in Legislative Achievements” with an impressive track record of moving motions and sponsoring bills that directly benefit his constituents. His exceptional leadership skills and ability to build consensus among his colleagues have been instrumental in driving social-political and economic transformative change across his constituency and Nigeria at large.

Hon. Salman has excelled in the three fundamental duties of a lawmaker, which are lawmaking, representation, and oversight. With quite a number of achievements to his name, some of which are worthy of note are:

Sponsoring about 3 significant bills that improved the lives of his constituents

Successfully advocated for about 20 motions that promoted economic growth and development.

Collaborated with colleagues to pass several landmark bills into law.

Empowering through Jobs creation and facilitation:

Through his tireless efforts, Hon. Salman has created opportunities for economic growth and development, fostering an environment conducive to job creation and availability. His predisposition to rural engagement and community development has engendered accelerated growth for his constituents. Within his two years in office, Arch Salman Idris has proven his mettle as a game-changer for his constituents; his efforts in job creation and stimulating economic growth have been invaluable. He has facilitated pensionable jobs to numerous of his constituents within just a few years in office.

Unlocking potential through education is another area where he has exhibited remarkable strength as a lawmaker. He has demonstrated his dedication to education by securing scholarships for deserving students. This initiative has not only transformed individual lives but also contributed to the betterment of the community as a whole with Scholarship Statistics of:
– 39 fully funded scholarships awarded to deserving students
– 70% increase in graduation rates among scholarship recipients

Transforming Lives Through Community Development:

His efforts in community development and infrastructure have been equally impressive. By advocating for projects that improve the quality of life for his constituents, Hon. Salman has left an indelible mark on the community. From the provision of good road networks, electricity, street lights, donation of a complete ICT centre, building and renovations of school buildings amongst so many others. As I write, construction is ongoing on Olle Bunu road, and also, the road linking Okoro to Aiyegunle is under reconstruction. The rep member also commissioned a six block of classrooms at Government Science Secondary School, Okedayo in Kabba-bunu. These projects cut across Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency.

A Champion of Agricultural Development:

Notably, Hon. Salman has shown his commitment to agricultural development through various interventions. By supporting initiatives that promote agricultural growth, he has helped improve food security and economic stability for his constituents. This also promotes the general peace and security of the people of Kabba-Bunu/ Ijumu Federal Constituency. His Agricultural Development Initiatives have provided training and resources for farmers, resulting in a reasonable per cent increase in crop yields, thereby empowering farmers to access markets and improve their livelihoods

Hon. Salman is a shining example of a dedicated and effective legislator whose tireless efforts to promote the interests of his constituents have earned him a reputation as a true champion of the people. His legacy will undoubtedly continue to inspire future generations of leaders.

As an architect and a builder, his recreation ability has been manifested in his legislative and parliamentary functions. He readily brings to mind that common saying that if you must do it, then you have to do it well. So if you must serve, then you have to serve well.

Seizing the Moment: Transformative Power of Embracing Opportunities.

By George Omagbemi Sylvester

In the intricate tapestry of life, opportunities often present themselves subtly, sometimes cloaked in challenges or disguised as fleeting moments. Recognizing and embracing these moments can be the catalyst for profound personal and communal transformation. As the adage goes, “When life offers you an opportunity, always be in a test of it as such may never come again.” This sentiment underscores the urgency and significance of acting decisively when chance aligns with readiness.

Seizing the Moment: Transformative Power of Embracing Opportunities.
By George Omagbemi Sylvester

The Imperative of Action
Opportunities are not merely serendipitous events; they are calls to action. They demand not only recognition but also a proactive response. In today’s world, where timing can determine the difference between success and stagnation, one must be vigilant and responsive. Professor PLO Lumumba, a renowned Kenyan legal scholar and anti-corruption crusader emphasizes this principle with characteristic clarity. He asserts, “Success is failure turned inside out. If you want to graduate from a ‘Johnny nobody’ to a big ‘Kahuna,’ you must obey the divine order to subdue the earth and have dominion over it; otherwise, the earth will subdue you and have dominion over you.”

This powerful assertion highlights the necessity of seizing control of one’s destiny through active engagement with the opportunities that life offers. Indecision, apathy or fear of failure can result in being overrun by the very circumstances we were meant to master. Thus, action is not optional, but imperative.

Opportunities as Catalysts for Positive Impact
While opportunity often signals the potential for personal growth, its true power lies in its capacity to foster transformation beyond the self. Embracing opportunities can pave the way for meaningful change in families, communities and nations. Pastor Joel Osteen, a prominent American preacher and author, echoes this broader perspective. He observes, “When God puts love and compassion in your heart toward someone, HE’s offering you an opportunity to make a difference in that person’s life. We must learn to follow that love. Don’t ignore it. Act on it. Somebody needs what you have.”

Osteen’s insight reminds us that our talents, time and attention are resources entrusted to us for service. An opportunity to help, mentor or uplift another should never be dismissed. In these acts of benevolence lie the seeds of social transformation. Whether it is speaking up for the voiceless, offering a helping hand or mentoring the next generation, each action taken in response to an opportunity strengthens the fabric of society.

The Interplay Between Opportunity and Challenge
One of the most perplexing yet profound truths about opportunity is that it often emerges intertwined with challenge. Few opportunities arrive gift-wrapped and without difficulty. This duality is eloquently captured by Mufti Ismail Menk, a respected Islamic scholar, who advises, “This life is short. Make it a point to touch lives and hearts whenever you get the opportunity. Give, forgive and apologise.”

His words reinforce the idea that even in the face of hardship or discomfort, there lies an embedded chance to act rightly, grow spiritually and connect deeply with others. Indeed, some of life’s greatest breakthroughs come not from moments of ease, but from how we respond to adversity. The wisdom lies in identifying the opportunity hidden in the obstacle.

The Consequences of Hesitation
Failing to seize opportunities (whether out of fear, procrastination or doubt) can lead to lasting regret. J.K. Rowling, the celebrated author of the Harry Potter series, offers a compelling reflection on this point: “It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all; in which case, you fail by default.”

Her insight underscores a reality many ignore: avoiding risks altogether is itself a dangerous choice. Playing it safe can often mean forgoing growth, fulfillment and destiny. Embracing opportunity means accepting the possibility of failure but also daring to hope for a better outcome.

Strategic Engagement with Opportunities
Beyond enthusiasm, what sets successful people apart is their preparedness to act. To maximize the benefits of opportunities, a strategic and prepared mindset is essential. This involves cultivating awareness, resilience and a willingness to step outside one’s comfort zone. It also demands self-belief.

This sentiment is humorously but powerfully echoed by popular Nigerian comedian Gordons (Godwin Komone), who shared:
“Some people were born with silver spoon, some with golden spoon but I was born with nothing; yet, I helped myself through university… but today I don’t drive what I drive by my degree neither am I staying where I stay by my degree, I got it all by putting my talent to work.”

This raw and relatable statement reflects the reality that success is not always determined by formal education, social status or privilege. Rather, it is driven by how we identify and utilize our unique gifts. Gordons’ journey reminds us that while not everyone starts life with equal advantages, each of us has something valuable to offer, if only we dare to put it to use.

A Cultural and Historical Perspective
Throughout history, individuals who seized the moment have shaped the course of nations. From Nelson Mandela’s bold steps in post-apartheid South Africa to Chinua Achebe’s literary courage in redefining African identity through literature, the common denominator is courage in the face of uncertainty. They each recognized moments of possibility and acted, thereby transforming societies and leaving legacies.

Nigeria itself is a country bursting with untapped potential and endless opportunities. However, these opportunities are often squandered due to leadership gaps, structural inefficiencies and a culture that sometimes prioritizes entitlement over enterprise. To reverse this trend, we must collectively reorient our mindset (particularly among the youth) toward innovation, resilience and action.

Practical Steps to Seize Opportunities
Cultivate Awareness: Train your mind to recognize possibilities, even in unlikely situations. Opportunity often appears in disguise.

Overcome Fear: Replace fear of failure with faith in growth. Every great story includes moments of risk.

Act Quickly but Thoughtfully: Some doors open briefly. While impulsiveness is risky, overthinking can be paralyzing. Find a balanced approach.

Invest in Your Skills: Constantly improve yourself, the more prepared you are, the easier it is to capitalize when opportunities arise.

Serve Others: Look for opportunities not just for personal gain but for meaningful contribution, success without impact is hollow.

Closing Thoughts
In summation, opportunities are the threads from which the fabric of our lives is woven. They demand recognition, courage and most importantly ACTION. By embracing opportunities with both hands, we not only propel ourselves toward personal growth but also contribute positively to the lives of others.

As we navigate the complexities of existence, let us remain vigilant and responsive to the opportunities that come our way. Each moment holds the potential to shape a brighter, more impactful future; not just for ourselves, but for generations to come.

Let us remember the words of Gordons and others like him; those who, against all odds chose not to wait for perfect conditions but instead forged success from raw talent and unrelenting will. Their stories teach us that opportunity is less about luck and more about preparation, perspective and persistence.

So, the next time opportunity knocks (whether loud or subtle) answer boldly. The world awaits your contribution.
